I realized they had a "friend pass" thing recently which would allow him to play shared-progression coop with me so we did that and he enjoyed it for the price of "free". After doing shared-progression for the first playthrough we were totally ready for an NG+ playthrough with the randomizers+upgraded drops active just for fun. Major buzzkill that we found out the friend pass version can't do shared-progression NG+ so he won't get any drops or interact with many things. Buzzkilled straight to the desktop and uninstalled.

The balancing was so fucking bad for coop too.

Sequel is going to be mediocre too. Also EGS exclusive so I don't have to subject myself to it. Funny watching the retard dev cope on twitter about how being EGS exclusive doesn't matter because people will buy it anyways, as proven by data that was probably provided to him by the EGS damage control team. Can't believe it took the game like 2 years to make it's money back and the blithering fool thinks EGS isn't going to make that even worse for the second game.

I tried to get into it after the major rehaul update but the world is a slog and the plot is nonsensical, the umbral world dynamic sounds cool but it’s just another annoying mechanic, why do they keep updating it? do the devs think it’s some prestige project lol
