Crosscode and Alabasta Dawn took some heavy inspirations from older gen games' gameplay & aesthetics so i mean yeah they're pretty decent. CC drowns you in puzzles, though, the sheer amount of rooms in dungeons just full-packed with BALLS puzzles became a filter.
I want to buy it now but I feel like I won't enjoy it as much if I play it in bursts as it's releases compared to all at once a few years down the line.

unironically, this studio creates 2D games with such high quality art direction, animation, FX and sound design that it makes me reminisce on ps2/ps3 final fantasy. already loving AD, though I dread hitting wherever the end of content is so far. Think I heard somewhere that they're plan for EA is 2 years? hopefully that was just hearsay, not gonna love dropping and picking this up every few months when they've dripfed more content into it. Finished everything but two side quests in about six hours. Most concerns I had after the demo are gone, dungeon length is fine and while the present puzzles are mostly immediately identifiable, new weapons and elements both adding variables will likely obscure solutions a bit more later on. Roguelite mode seems promising as an excuse for more combat.
