The same story and game made literally 5 times.
There are more versions of this same exact game than there are actual sequels or spinoffs.
Starfox, Starfox 64, Starfox 3DS, Starfox Zero Starfox Switch 2
vs
Starfox 2, Starfox Comand, Starfox Adventures, Starfox Assault.

At lest Zero felt kinda new despite not advancing the story at all but its Controls that like only High IQ individuals could grasp and the fact it was a WIIU exclusive made it a failure.

I don't think Starfox SNES and Starfox 64 should be considered the same thing. Yeah its the same story and premise, but no one gives a shit when Mario and Zelda do it. Earthbound is Mother 1 on steroids, Super Metroid is Metroid 1 on steroids, Metal Gear Solid is Metal Gear 2 on steroids etc. That shit happened all the time back then because devs wanted to see their earlier ideas in higher fidelity.

I agree that its inexcusable for them to remake 64 AGAIN, but lets be rational.

>Mario and Zelda do it.
The same premise of "Mario saves Peach from Bowser" or "Link finds the Triforce and saves Zelda from Ganon" doesn't mean ALttP is the same game as Ocarina of Time or Mario 64 is the same story as Mario 3D World
ALttP is about going between 2 worlds while looking for the Triforce to restore it
OoT is about Link being destined to fight Ganondorf and growing up in the process.
Mario 64 is about Mario going to a castle for a cake, but fighting Bowser's takeover.
Mario 3D World is about Mario and friends saving fairies from Bowser's capture.

It's funny you put 2 in with the unique games despite it having the same story and settings as 1, the gameplay is so different that people will overlook it. Similarly, Zero has completely new levels and unique mechanics, but (probably) because it's a rail shooter, it's often seen as another retread.

I think there's more to this series than people give it shit for. That said, I'm not too excited for another literal 64 remake.

>I don't think Starfox SNES and Starfox 64 should be considered the same thing
Same story, same map, same characters. They are the same. Just that one is more constrained by the hardware than the other
>>
>>738453273
>The same story and game made literally 5 times.
This is the 2nd time.
>source
I played all the games, you didn't.
>>
>>738454816
Last time i cheeked the 3ds game is just 64 but better graphics.
So even if you want to be literal.
Its the 3rd time.
>source
I played and finished all the games, and i masturbate to the porn of the series regularly.
>>
>>738454972
>3DS
The first remake of 64.
>Switch 2
The second remake.
>>
>starfox (2026) will have 3 endings
>2 from the original N64 endings
>The truth ending will have fox waking up from his coma and escape from "out of this dimension" of NES and complete the lytant war sag
>>
>>738455049
64 is a remake of SNES Star Fox
>>
>>738455252
>different levels
>different bosses
>different plot
No, it's not.

That's like saying Mario Odyssey is a remake of Mario Bros because you save Peach from Bowser.
>>
>>738455049
3ds is more like a port with remastered elements it really doesnt count as a ground up remake

dont give me some ACKTUALLY bullshit response

>>738455343
trvke

the truth is the new s2 starfox is the FIRST AND ONLY TIME starfox 64 has been remade
>>
>>738453273
Four niggas
>>
>>738455668
>really doesnt count as a ground up remake
But they remade it, from the ground up.
They even got the original cast to re record their lines, and the 3DS mode is a brand new set of levels.
>>
>Caring about the story in a rail shooter
you were never a Star Fox fan
>>
>>738455049
3ds is not a remake. It's a remaster.
>>
>>738453273
Isn't nearly every Mario game the same story?

Boomshacalaka.
>>
>>738453273
I have never played it, so the remake is perfect for me
>>
>>738453273
Slurryshit sipping nintendogs don't care about quality why would they start now?
>>
>>738458664
you can play it right now on emulator if you were actually interested
>>
>>738458664
niggers don't understand this is a fucking 30yo game and 64 is the perfect game for introduce people to the franchise.
>>
>>738458780
did you need to play Wind Waker to appreciate Breath of the Wild?
>>
>>738458861
Holy retard. BotW is not a remake of WW
>>
>N-no, t-those don't count of remakes because blah blah blah!
The fucking cope from the shills on this shit, by god.
>>
>>738453761
>but no one gives a shit when Mario and Zelda do it
Because Mario and Zelda use the same groundwork, but always go about it differently and the actual levels are different for the most part. Star Fox is always the exact same story while traversing the exact same levels
>>
>>738453273
I'm 100% sure Nintendo has outsourced this game to a third party dev and not actually developing it themself but the sheer lack of vision for the franchise has really put me off. This isn't even specific to Starfox, I look at all their most recent offerings and they're all so uninspired. If it wasn't this it would have been StarFox 64: open world edition.
>>
>>738458861
your reply makes no sense.
See it like this:

- the 3ds remaster was released in 2011. 15 fucking years ago

- Nobody played Zero (i did)

- people are too stupid for emulation.

- zoomers get the ick when they see "bad" graphics like the ones in the original.

(You) are not the target audience for this remake. It's zoomers and people like me who loves the original one.
>>
>>738459291
I can tell you haven't played star fox on snes or star fox zero because the levels are nothing like star fox 64.
>>
>3 times
>4 times
>5 times
I like how the number keeps going up.
>>
>>738455970
its a remaster on a dinky little handheld with some little bonuses. doesnt count.

the snes game, 64 game, and zero all have completely different music, story beats, and level design. zero has a big emphasis on the chicken walker thing, it has more in common with star fox 2 on snes than star fox 1.

not remakes.
>>
I gotta say that the all-range mode levels in Starfox 64 were pretty boring.
