the remakes are simply being made by people with lesser intelligence than those who designed the original, there isn't as much thought put into the world building, how people who live outside of midgar survive against monsters, the main cast is poorly written, the scenarios are poorly written, unlike FF7 which is a timeless game, remake is a product of its time - it's a game for dumb people, by dumb people, who want to celebrate the surface level fact that they like FF7, nothing wrong with that inherently, but it certainly isn't going to stand the test of time
