Really fucking lame open world content, the rooftop challenges and random events felt like massive filler. If you just do the main story, and don't fast travel and enjoy the traversal, the first game is a solid capeshit game with a decent if predictable story.I kinda wish they had the balls to do something like Blood of Dawnwalker, with a timegated main story. I am thinking like Rhino, an optional boss for the narrative, wrecking havok but it eats up time to do the main story which influences what happens or changes mission structures because you did random shit in the open world and others suffered.

I haven't played it in a long time, so I might be wrong, but I'm sure the game made it really hard to fuck up webslinging. I can't remember a single time where I misjudged my height or direction and payed for it. Webslinging in PS2/GCN Spiderman 2 felt like an extreme sports game where you could absolutely fuck up your timing or height and bail. Yeah, going through the middle of a watertower in Marvel's Spiderman is cool the first time, and the whole thing is very cinematic when you're blurring by a detailed city, but I'll always prefer hauling ass to catch a kid's balloon.
