Rather than just cast you as one or two characters for the majority of the game my idea was to rotate the attorney-partner roles with each case so that players would be switching back and forth between Apollo and Athena through the story, with Trucy's character development happening parallel to the events of the game and culminating in the final case, where it all comes together. The first case would have made Athena the attorney and Apollo the assistant, the second case would flip those (so it'd be like 5-2 where Apollo is assisted by Athena - in fact this might have been the one case I could have used from the real AA6, as it does kind of work into the plot as a whole and these are the roles the characters play in that case), case 3 would have shifted between playing as Phoenix in the investigation phase and Athena in court, case 4 would be Apollo assisted by Trucy (potentially happening at the same time as 3, with lots of AA4-style banter), and the final case would be Athena and Trucy (with Trucy inheriting Thalassa's other bracelet and discovering the full depth of her Perceive ability while Apollo would take a step back in order to thematically echo what was happening elsewhere in the plot - there's an aspect of the story I'm not explaining here that would justify it).cont. vvv

People he thought he knew (Daryan and Kristoph) turning out to be very different than he thought he knew under the surface and the good people in his life (Constance Courte) being unjustly cut down for trying to be better than the prevailing mentality. It's meant to be stuff he's been shoving down for the past couple of years but then the events of the game occur and finally all spills over because everything happening around him just reinforces that trying to have a positive attitude is meaningless when nothing in the world makes sense or is just. Case 5 would then be spent trying to snap him out of it and make him realign his actual virtues with what his role is as a prosecutor, not being obscured by personal vendettas and disillusionment.

My vision of AA6 was one of a much more tightly knit, personal story that ties together all the plot threads of the past two games in a way that gives Apollo's era a satisfying sendoff (proving he's able to put personal feelings aside and has the strength to always do what's right, making him the best person to take the mantle of the Anything Agency in the future while Athena steps into her own as a capable, solo attorney that she was building towards in the fifth game), sets up Trucy as the next face of the series, and smoothly retire Phoenix influence from the series (with the OT acting as his rise, the arc between 4 and 5 the downfall and return, and 6 his torch-passing).
