You probably want a 4K OLED High end gaming PC to play this since its UE5 and requires XESS Ultra Quality upscaling to hit a smooth 90FPS on medium settings. FSR3 is garbage in this game and TSR is too blurry. As you know 4K looks best with upscaling and benefits the most not only in visual sharpness but performance since 4K upscaled looks better than 1440p native and performs better too.

As for the gameplay only played 2 hours but its fun.

Valheim is immersion maxing. Exiles is fun as a group that can pick up and play a few times a week because you will be Barbarian maxing, dungeons are interesting enough. Along with Dune they can be solod but better with at least one partner. Enshrouded is the game you can enjoy the most as solo but the NPCs are crap. Soulmask no idea, Pirate game no idea. V Rising is like Conan. None of these games will make you less lonely if that is what you want while in a large world.

I will say you will love Conan a lot if you watched even one movie. The world building is great and my fault was being aimless. The game has done a lot of improvements so you will be navigating the map or building stuff for achievements / etc. I got caught in the thrall trap for the ones you want and that was a weaker part of the game back then. It has been updated a lot and the expansion pack combined. I don't even know if you need to buy Seraph to access the island anymore but Conan is great.

Yeah I kind of come to terms that we can't get a perfect survival game since the most basic element of AI instructions to NPC is uncodable for some ungodly reason.
That was one of the core reasons why I played State of Decay 2. What is crazy is that the best game to have a partner has been Skyrim with mods and Dragons Dogma with the thrall you create in the beginning and having access to 2 other players creations.

Valheim. Easily. I'm not even a fan, it's just that it's a genre where they most of the time get really fucking lazy with content after they've managed to hook a few fans, so all the content just turns to grind. I waited for the update to get it and I'm having fun. I barely have a frame of reference but I like the building and wandering the map because the combat is definitely not its strong suit. It's outright immersion breaking how easy it is to cheese the AI and that helps a lot in feeling like a 3rd person Kenshi.

You know something I fucking hate about survival crafters with a set map? When the devs decide that the map needs to have immense ruins and premade buildings fucking everywhere. I don't know if anyone else has this, but I really don't want to see traces of other civilization near my base, I want to feel like I was genuinely lost in the wilderness and made something out of nothing, starting from a hut and slowly turning it into a city.

Like, yeah, by all means, put cities and towns in your game. Just don't put so many of them and so many prefabs scattered around that it literally becomes impossible to find a spot you can get a nice, untouched natural landscape for your base.

Enshrouded in particular is even worse in this sense because to the overwhelming amount of prefabs it had, you also then have to account for the shroud obscuring half the map. Wow so no matter where I go, all I'll see from my base will be buildings AND fog? Shit gets so bad that when I decided to make an oasis outpost, I realized there is no spot in the desert biome where you're surrounded by desert, only tiny patches of desert surrounded by yet another town or another shroud.

Conan Exiles also suffers from this in a lesser capacity, though you can still find some spots.

Grind is fairly generous, IMO it's not as bad as Valheim grind where you were stuck in the swamp mines for years and after advancing to the next biome you still have to keep going back to the swamp mines, but there is still some grind. They offset it by letting you eventually build NPC merchants who you can just buy bulk raw materials from using silver that you loot from naval battles. I'm at the point where I need multiple hundreds of hard wood and it's like

It's got more of a "story" to it than Valheim does, there's actual NPCs that give you actual quests. The POIs can be a little copypaste, but they're also hand crafted and each one is unique in some way. You cannot level up by grinding, all XP is gated on quests and POI completion so you're heavily incentivized to run around exploring and doing stuff instead of doing the same thing over and over.

Difficulty is both harder than Valheim in some ways and easier than Valheim in some ways. Respecs are free, so you can experiment with lots of different playstyles instead of needing to grind to level up your weapon skill. You're punished incredibly hard for getting hit, and you have to git gud at either parrying or dodging. Armor and damage scaling is level based, if your armor level is below the enemy level then you take like 2x damage, if it's higher than the enemy level than you take like 0.5x damage, equipment level matters more than character level and character stats.

Nah, I'm perfectly fine with that. For starters, finding natural, untouched landscapes in Valheim is extremely easy, even with the abandoned huts. The one thing I noticed with people trying out this game is that they join an online pvp server and gets cucked in the first area just to then quit, missing out on what makes the game so good. Rust has procedurally generated slop maps and it's entirely geared for PVP, Conan has a massive hand crafted world full of enemies, dungeons etc geared entirely for PVE, base building and decoration, pokemon esque pet and thrall collecting etc

Conan is more like a MP Skyrim without the quests/story.

You can easily adjust the amount of grinding that you tolerate in the settings. The game is highly customizable and there were tons of great mods, even 'politically incorrect' mods that I hope get updated for the Enhanced version.
The game is about exploration, survival, combat, hunting, character design and progression, crafting, base building, base defense, husbandry, pets, slavery, religion, gods... It has beautifully designed biomes with diverse flora and fauna. I really enjoyed it and will play again once they updated the mods for Enhanced.

Being at 60 just makes it easier to use sorcery. It used to be absolute cancer leveling sorcery and supply it solo, funcom has since nerfed the requirements, but going full sorcerer makes you frail as hell; half max stamina and health. Max level armor mitigates the frailty so a stiff breeze doesn't fold you. Honestly, it's better for exploration/travel than combat.

Conan is one of the most autistic grinding games possible unless you play entirely by yourself, with enhanced rates, and no intention of ever interacting with the raiding mechanics. Thus cutting out about 60-70% of the game, since almost everything exists to set you up for multiplayer raiding in one way or another from gear to explosives to better materials to thralls etc.

If you are honestly playing any of these games as singleplayer adventures, why not just play an actual survival game built for PvE so you aren't playing electric-football with enemies?

I died to Frigga Falsehope as soon as I entered Sinner's Refuge. I was in full heavy with perfect steel mace and shield. And I was trying to get my thrall to flee so I could bonk her (I was farming thralls). She pinned me against a wall and I panicked, triple mashing thrall flee, but she bodied me. I've got 100+ hours into it purely on a self-hosted solo sever. I really like it. The game's pretty (even more now after the visual upgrade). The combat's fun. The game was designed for multiplayer but somehow the world being empty gives it a vibe I really enjoy. It's got all these big wide spaces that the devs clearly intended to be filled up with player structures but the result on a solo playthrough is just this big, barren, lonely world that you're exploring. NPCs are almost non-entities that mostly exist for you to use (there's a follower system and you can rename thralls but they don't have dialogue). Even so, I like having my little three-person party that I gear up and adventure with, and I spend way too much time base-building, which I think the game does a great job at. Maybe I've just got the right brand of autism.

It's a big, open world that you can explore at your own pace and it's got a surprising amount of stuff crammed into its various nooks and crannies to reward exploring, and solid base-building outside of that. Taken purely as a single-player game, I think it's the best in the genre.

Is this the same game just updated? If I were to buy an old steam key online would it add the Enhanced version to my steam library?

I don't know about you but I just downloaded the private server launcher and run it from my own machine when I boot up the game. Totally free, zero latency, took maybe an hour to set up (and that was because I didn't know what I was doing), and not only do I completely avoid any single-player only limitations like the ones in your post but I can also install server mods. I can't say how it compares to the more multi-player focused ones like Rust or Ark or what have you, but I enjoyed it as a solo player on a PvE server. I liked V Rising more, but I'm also a vampirefag so I just prefer the aesthetic there. People generally seem to like Valheim more but I haven't played that so I can't really compare them. In any case, this is basically Palworld but with titty slaves instead of monster slaves and optional PvP.

I don't get the appeal of Valheim after the initial hours. The permanent terraforming and base building is good, but then the rest of the game is just clearly half baked and not finished. I'd like it more if the dungeons and boss fights were better.
Enshrouded is better in that regard but then falls flat with the base building with its restrictions and terraforming being meaningless outside of your base area.
Conan has no terraforming but the base building is fantastic and it has the most fun world to explore. The combat is hit or miss but I appreciate that it isn't roll slop.

Windrose is alright. I was hoping the ship aspect would be killer but it's mid. No one wants to copy Sea of Thieves homework. SoT does one thing right and no one bothers to rip it off.

Pretty much, literally all you need is a waterskin, stack of gruel, stone daggers and a bedroll and you are set to go anywhere other than to meet the frost giants. Grab some start metal weapons from mounds of the dead, head over to the bat cave and farm for blood tools, grub some gold in the underwater chests in the jungle and buy a follower in Flotsam etc

Don't get me wrong I love building, kidnapping thralls etc, but once you know your way around you can basically skip the first 20 hours in 2 hours.

The biggest problem with the combat isn't the combat itself, it's that that the slightest bit of lag completely destroys the system they've got and unless you're playing solo or on your own server, you're going to have lag.

Despite being open world survival craft, this game is unironcially too faithful to Howard's work to have bikini armor. I don't recall any actual example of it in base game beyond maybe hyperborean slaver set, if it counts even
Basically there is normal plate armor and chainmail everywhere. Clothing can be often revealing and obviously there are basic loincloths if you are just starting.

I couldn't get into Conan Exiles because it's not so much high adventure as survival crafting base building bullshit. It's not even an option. If you want to get better shit, you need to build the tier one hut to make the tier one work stations to build the tier two hut to make the tier two work stations to make the tier three hut to make the tier three workstations so on and so forth.

Someone even told me that I was doing it wrong, and I should be logging on to other players' servers and sneaking into their bases to steal their stuff to get high tier items, so I tried that and got hit with the "you're not allowed in here lmao" shit.
