Are you hyped, Subnautica bros?
>>
Did they fix the MC in this one?
>>
>>738523393
I don't play shitty survival games that exist only to milk your time.
>>
Not really.
After Subnautica: Below Average was worse than the first game in every regard, I feel like they don't understand what made the game good in the first place.
Then they sell out to Krafton just to get fucked over by them and now it releases in early access and probably won't be finished for another 2 years.
I'd love to play Subnautica in coop but I'm not getting my hopes up.
>>
>>738523393
Nope. At best I'll pick it up for 75% off at some point, but everything I've seen makes me think it's going to be a worse version of the original, just with prettier graphics
>>
>>738523393
I'll wait until it's out of early access this time. Hope it has the soul of the first one, but I'm pessimistic.
>>
>>738523393
Is it gonna have the whole story or is it gonna be half finished EA release that actually comes out two years from now?
>>
>>738523393
>AI generated game
No thanks.

>What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“Subnautica 2 will include a multiplayer mode, several biomes, some narrative, and a variety of creatures and craftables.

With each major update, we plan to release more features, creatures, biomes, and more. What exactly will we release? We have a general idea but this is Early Access, so the most important part is making the game available and hearing your thoughts.”

"Based on previous Early Access games we have developed, we expect it to take about 2 to 3 years."
>>
>>738524868
>half finished EA release that actually comes out two years from now
Even that seems optimistic
>>
>>738524868
Obviously the latter. Easy skip for now.
>>
>>738524868
Do early access games ever first release with the story finished?
>>
>it's releasing
cool
>into EA
that's not a release. OP can get fucked. so can the devs for pulling this shit on the regular
>>
>>738523393
The screenshots and trailer shit look good, but this is early access so I'm gonna give it a while before I actually consider buying it.
>>
>>738525226
>multiplayer survival crafting early access
it is so fucking over. over before it even began.
>>
>>738523393
Hype is reserved for finished products. Early Access is just a paid beta test. I'll reserve my judgement for when it's near the end of the testing cycle and when it's actually in a state ready to be released rather than this rushed EA release. They're only releasing the EA this early because some hack who almost had control made a fake public announcement for the game's release in order to sabotage them, and the ACTUAL developers said "bet".

Also, get fucked Krafton.
>>
>>738523393
I hope it's not built on unreal garbage 5
>>
>>738525226
>2-3 years of early access
What the fuck have they been doing since BZ released?
>>
>>738523393
After Windrose and Enshrouded Im done playing these kinds of games in EA. By the time they are actually finished I have no desire to do a whole new playthrough again so Im just pissing away money for half the experience.

Early Access could be fine if the finished product came out like lets say 3 to 6 months later. But these days they release an EA game when they still have at least 2 years of development time left before the game is actually finished. Its fucking criminal
>>
>>738525643
Nothing. These companies use early access as a crutch. Nobody should be allowed to use early access if their game is a sequel to something that was already highly successful. Early access should only be allowed for an indie dev's first game.
>>
>>738525764
Steam should absolutely implement a policy that prevents early access releases for people who have already made a game before. It's a training bumper that should be taken off permanently after the successful launch of a first game.
>>
>>738523393
>Then they sell out to Krafton just to get fucked over by them
If I had to guess, UWE tried to pass the unfinished game off as if it was in a "ready & playable state" JUST so that they would get certain promised deadline bonuses, but krafton countered their cheeky plan because the game MOST DEFINITELY was not ready.
Whether this happened or not, I am absolutely certain there was some "I don't know who's jewing who anymore" shenanigans going on.

Either way, I lost faith in UWE long before the original Subnautica even released, they've sold out and I remember hearing negative shit about their internal team stuff too.
>>
>>738525643
Dealing with corporate sabotage from their retarded Chinese dunderlord.
>UnknownWorlds got bought by Krafton
>Game was set to release this year
>Krafton CEO throws honor out the window (huge taboo) and does all he can to fuck over the devs so they can't release on time to earn the money they rightfully earned in their contract
>Lawsuit happens, Krafton gets assblasted
>FINALLY able to get back to working on the game
>Guy who was put in charge of UW temporarily before lawsuit then puts out a public release date right after the lawsuit ends, which was not his call by any means.

It's a fucking mess of a story.
>>
>>738525916
>renames studio
nothing personnel, retardo
>>
>>738525976
Like I will take the current dev's side after the jeetslop called below zero
>>
>>738525991
Steam could easily counter that too.
>>
>>738523393
No i played the first one and found it extremely buggy and boring.
After building a permanent base near thermal vents I realized there was dozens of hours of searching a perfectly dark void hoping id stumble on the upgrades id need to visit the caves to continue the plot so I said fuck it.
I dont want to play a game where it will kill me if I save underwater. Enemies can swim through terrain and destroy your stuff when youre loading in and the wiki is basically mandatory for new players.
>>
>>738525976
>Either a gook that doesn't understand numbers or niggertranny fuckers
Grim
>>
>>738526138
Oh I'm definitely not defending the wretched slop that was BZ. Fuck that garbage to hell and back.
>>738526208
>gook that doesn't understand numbers
Oh no, he understood numbers. He understood how much he was going to lose if he honored his side of the contract. His problem is that he was a greedy idiot who thought he'd be looked down on for actually paying his subordinates for their hard work (Chinese "values", don't ask me). The dumbfuck literally used ChatGPT to ask how to win his court case, and that was public evidence. He wanted to avoid shaming himself, but ended up shaming himself AND his company. An absolute fucking idiot if there ever was one.
>>
>>738523393
No I'm not excited for the beta
>>
>>738523393
I have no intention of playing it.
>>
>>738525918
Iirc the deal was to "release" into playable EA as they did with the two Subnautica games before that which were also only 50% finished.
I guess there are no good guys in this story.
Krafton are greedy cunts but UWE deserve it for consorting with them, it's not like Krafton was a based indie publisher before and nobody couldn't have seen that coming.
>>
>>738523393
Interesting choice of pic OP, tells me all I need to know actually
>>
>>738525760
This. I didn't buy Windrose specifically for this reason. I want the full experience. Early access means a game gets to sit in my wishlist for years until it's done.
>>
>>738523393
Isn't this the one with the sheboon diver.
A black diver....under water.....and a marine biologist.....
I understand this is a fantasy setting but you can't just put shit like this out there and expect me to play this and believe any of it
>>
>>738526368
Given that you don't even know Krafton is Korean I am inclined to not give a fuck about anything you say
>>
>>738525760
I like it as the game, if they actually work on it, is completely different on release from the first EA, so you play on EA release and full release, get the game at a discount and have 2 playthroughs of it
Enshrouded precisely is already completely different
HOWEVER, Subnautica will probably be the exact same game with a few less bugs
>>
>>738526618
Boo hoo, I got their nationality wrong. Sorry for being politically incorrect. The fact of the matter is that the CEO was a fucking moron, and it was a shitshow because of him.
>>
>>738523393
>5 days left for early acess
Fixed.
Also certainly not hype, and very cautious about this. Please don't fuck it up man, I'd be content with Subnautica 1 but less buggy.
>>
give me a death in the water sequel, that game is much better
>>
>>738527085
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1338840/Death_in_the_Water_2/
>>
>>738527280
i meant another sequel, that was one
>>
>>738523954
What was bad about BZ anyway? I really loved the first game. One of the few openworldsurvivalcrafts I could stomach.
>>
>>738527621
Protagonist who won't shut the fuck up
>>
>>738523478
they haven't shown the character speaking, so hopefully, yes
>>
>>738527765
Yeah that'll do it. I love deep ocean stuff, and swimming around in Subnautica with just environmental sounds playing was serene to me.
>>
>>738523393
>AI-generated
>Unreal Engine 5
>drama during development

I won't even pirate that shit.
>>
>>738523393
>game made by a o n i o n sboi who wants to ban guns and thinks sandy hook was real
no thanks
>>
>>738527621
BZ is alright, but also a stepdown from the original in pretty much every aspect.
>Protagonist who won't shut the fuck up with shitty dialog
>Another character with shitty dialog is stuck in your head the entire time for more shitty dialog
>Really stupid story
>Cyclops and Seamoth are gone, replaced with something not as big and cool as the Cyclops and not as maneuverable as the Seamoth
>Map is smaller
>In general all the areas are smaller and more annoying to navigate
>They added ground areas to walk around on and explore, you need to eat food or stand in certain places to heat up otherwise cold works the same as oxygen, real problem is they're all boring
>The new dedicated ground vehicle is almost unusable and takes damage from fucking anything, so you'll end up using the prawn with a grapple arm anyway
>>
>>738523393
wasn't the sequel/dlc a dumpster fire?
>>
>>738528307
Get outta here Alex
>>
>>738527765
TWO protagonists who won't shut up, since you have the alien parasite in your head for most of the game and all their dialogue boils down to
>Humans so retarded
>We have opposable thumbs, we're great akshually
>Tch, you wouldn't understand it, just help me with my plan
>what is your plan?
>I won't tell you
>>
It's gonna be grating when someone says something along the lines of "NOPE NOPE NOPE" thinking it's relevant still.
>>
>>738523520
they help you be prepared silly
>>
>>738528445
>there were 2 shooters
>no there was one
>we need stronger laws
>cause this freakshow killed his mom and stole her gun, which literally no law addresses
>oh by the way the whole thing just happened to happen 40 days after the election
it was a government spook job just like the vegas shooting that got memory holed that they never released a motive or anything for, not even vids showing him getting the guns into the room and just like that shooting australia had that was done by a government spook that they blamed on a left handed retarded man
>>
>>738527621
>under water game has 50% of its content on land now
>badass MC won't shut up, autistic alien in your head won't shut up
>PDA voice is a smug pajeeta

Apparently there's a mod that changes both the PDA voice to the original one AND mutes the main character, but I haven't tried it yet and never will because the game crashed on me and I lost 6 hours of progress.

>>738523393
The first Subnautica was popular because it was one of those hidden gems you didn't expect to be as good as it was. Now they are are phoning in too much.
>>
>>738523393
It's not releasing fully for another 2 entire years.

They are streaming currently really hamming up this early access unfinished game.
>>
In development for 4 fucking years and it looks exactly the same, not to mention they asked the community for help figuring out new stuff because they have zero passion left. I will give it a try when it fully releases in 4 years or whatever
>>
>>738523393
First game was a lightning in a bottle and they fired the people responsible for it
Will not bother
>>
>>738523393
If they don't make Leviathans that mog the Ghost Leviathan in size, than it's fucking shit. The story can rot in hell for all I care, I just want to feel that same primal fear I felt back when I played the first game. Give me my thalassophobia fix, dammit!
>>
>>738523393
fortnite-lookin early acces game, release date: maybe 2029-2030
>>
>>738523478
it's a broccoli-head this time
>>
>>738523393
Did they bring back the sound guy from the first?
>>
Anyone watching this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJIHefNB3Hw

Holy shit this looks boring. A survival base building game with zero combat or tension.
>>
>>738532860
If you mean the music, no it’s the guy who made the soundtrack for Below Zero.
>>
>>738534268
I love base building, base building in subnautica was ass and my least favorite part of the game
>>

Couldn't get into the first one. Hated how the main character had the lungs of an asthmatic child. Could hold their breath for more then a few seconds. The air tanks sucked too. Even a shitty air tank should last a few minutes, not 20 seconds.
>>
>>738535931

From what I remember in the first game, you just made some small box then went exploring. They are really emphasizing the base building in this sequel.

>>738525918
The roadmap was leaked, UWE failed every possible metric possible, the CEO just wanted to throw the game for that sweet money despite never having worked on the game.
Krafton would have won their case easily if they new CEO wasn't the most retarded gook ever
>>
>>738536806
How do they fuck up so badly? Couldn't they just keep working on the game until its finished and the meet all of the previous goals?
>>
>>738538940
Massive unexpected succes really is devastating
