>>738523953The game is very fun when you're actually using most of what it's got. Punisher mode, focused attacks and stagger % jumps, elemental weaknesses, timed dodges to avoid attacks, and playing support with heals and buffs to keep the party healthy. A lot of people didn't, which is partly the game's fault for being way too easy. The hard mode helps with that, but that's unlocked by beating the game, and it's still not ballbustingly hard like you'd expect an unlockable difficulty option to be. The best route for a normal playthrough is not even equipping healing spells and just focusing on actually not getting hit and killing things before they kill you.

Why did they give Aeris so much content when Tifa is the love interest? I know she has to die, but they could have expanded her role without so much romantic teasing with Cloud. Now people have the wrong idea of their relationship.

>>738525026Unless it changed with intergrade, none of that shit mattered even on hard. its basically mash x for combat with no positioning really mattering. you can outlevel/outgear everything and the combat is boring as fuck. the levels are all corridors you fight one group and then walk to a glowing blue arrow pointing at rubble or squeeze through cracks to hide load times while aeirth or whoever yells 'we should try this, lets go this way' etc in modern narration yellow paint simulator design philosophy. then you get padded out 40 hours with mmo tier find 3 cats, deliver eye drops, go back to an area and fight a simple monster, etc "quests".

I had plenty of fun with it, but that was mostly by deciding I didn't want to use high potions the moment anyone got hit and instead tried to just win fights by avoiding damage and hitting back as hard as possible.
