>best game in the series
>we got one port to the 3DS, 15 years ago
>now we're getting a remake, with bonus content and additional online multiplayer
>Zero was straight up a different game
>in the time since 64, we have had four Starfox games that are not 64
>this is excessive rehashing of 64, apparently
Can we just give these guys a game where you stare at Krystal's ass, so they stop complaining about video games? It's clear that's all they want, and they're just going to seethe all over the SF franchise until someone gives it to them.
>>
>>738528801
they could just port 3ds to the switch and do a tiny touch up on graphics. every other game that isnt 64 is literally inaccessable for 20+ years
>>
>>738528801
>Zero was straight up a different game
It was straight up doing a lot of the same shit as 64, even making levels set in some of the same areas with characters doing the same thing. It was different in some ways, like gyrocopter levels that made the game unbelievably horrible, but there was enough shit directly copied from SF64 that it often felt like they were just doing that again.
>>
>>738528921
As if they're not going to release both GC games on Switch online
They're focusing on 64 because it's, you know, the best game in the series.
I'd rather have a new game *like* 64, but this is where we are now.

>>738529129
This is Zero.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThHqQKjDwmo
People pretending it's basically 64 have not played it. The Wii U sold like shit in the first place. Of course no one played it.
>>
>>738529308
>People pretending it's basically 64 have not played it.
Yeah they don't know that both are about Fox fighting Andross again. And they don't know about the rival team Star Wolf appearing again. And they don't know about the branching path level design again. And they don't know that levels can have you playing in the Arwing or a different vehicle again. Oh wait, those are some of the many things it copied over exactly from SF64 because it's basically the same game.
>>
>>738529492
Wow, Mario Galaxy is the same as Mario 3, because you fight Bowser in it. I'm so clever.
>>
>>738527913
/v/:
>ugh why did they change game 2? Game 1 was already good. They betrayed the fans.
Also /v/:
>ugh, why didn’t they change game 2? We already have game 1. Lazy cashgrab.
Face it, you fags just hate videogames.
>>
>>738529572
Good job commenting on one thing. Maybe one day you'll understand that multiple pieces of evidence all suggesting the same thing makes that thing a lot more likely than just one.
>>
>>738527913
it's called star fox 64 because that's how many times nintendo plans on remaking it
>>
>>738529695
A lot of the complaints about this being too much like the original are obnoxious because the original was a good game and I'd like a new game kind of like that. They've also not made many sequels to that but they have gone over the same story again, and Zero both does that and is horrible. If the only game out in the series was the first one, this would be an exciting announcement. Instead, it seems like they're going to make Star Fox Zero again, and people obviously don't like that.
>>
>>738529753
Mario Galaxy has fire flowers, air ships and coins in it. It's literally Mario 3!
>>
>>738529980
How does it seem like they're making Starfox Zero again?
You know the problem with Zero is that it almost entirely failed to capture what was good about 64?
>>
>>738530060
Weird how Mario 3 doesn't have fucking voice acted dialogue propelling its story forward, kind of like the story of a Mario game isn't a big focus.
It's clear you don't know how to respond to any of the specific comments I made in that post other than by admitting you were completely wrong and Zero obviously is way too close to SF64. You can quit replying and go back to finger painting, nobody cares enough to try and drill any new information into your thick skull.
>>
>>738530275
Starfox is a shooting series. The story is also not really a huge deal.
>Andross is le evil because he just is, okay!
Wow, compelling.
>>
>>738527981
it's called slant rhyme, it's called pronunciation, it's called not being retarded
>>
If they had literally just said Zero was a sequel, and called it "Andross Returns", would anyone be calling it a 64 remake?
>Help us Starfox! Andross is attacking the Lylat system!
>Help us Starfox! Andross is attacking the Lylat system [again]!
Wow, it's like a whole new script.
>>
>>738527913
Little aliens
Andross feelin' rebellious
Embarrassed that Fox' Arwing is so stealthless
Falco living rent free and still jealous
'til Pigma comes along and yells your father squealed like a "BITCH"
>>
>>738527913
At least fzero has 2 games
>>
>things are they way they were before
>wouldnt even recognize star fox 64
>>
>>738530715
The only reason why Zero can kind of get away with what it does is because it's a loose remake, if it were a sequel it would feel more like an embarrassing re-hash like the New Super Mario Bros games. Too much of Star Fox Zero's key set-pieces are just re-mixes of stuff that came before.
>dodging search lights on the polluted world Zoness before running into Katt
>a wing man gets shot down and crashes on Titania so you chase after him in a tank only to find him captured by a big monster that serves as the level boss
>teaming up with the Cornarian army to find the squad is led by your old pal Bill from the acadamy
>fighing a saucer with legs from below in the tank to make it vulnerable to hover to the top to shoot it's massive weak point (this one was from Assault interestingly enough)
>doging giant vines on Fortuna leading up to the boss fight with Monarch Dodora
>right before fighting Andross Star Wolf shows up again in more advanced ships
>the ghost of James showing up at the 11th hour to guide Fox through Venom's labyrinth

Seriously, why not use the time+resources to make a Star Fox game - With different planets/levels?
You know.... design levels that are different from the ones we played nearly 30 years ago. Can even keep the exact structure, I like splitting paths and secret objectives.

WHY a 1:1 demake? Soulless artstyle, in-mission dialogue is a downgrade... Multiplayer might be cool.

Also these "achievements" are weaksauce. It's just things you'd do playing the game normally.

have you even listened to "In The End?"

anyway
I wonder if Nintendo saw all the "NINTENDO HIRE THIS MAN" shitposts and took it literally.

>I think this artstyle is ugly, but everyone on the internet is praising it. Probably a difference in artistic sensibilities. The fans have been begging for this, so we should deliver.

I'm assuming there's some stuff to unlock when you do Challenge Mode since Expert is already unlocked from the start. Star Fox always had things to unlock (Landmaster and on-foot multiplayer and Expert in Star Fox 64, exclusive multiplayer weapons and old Namco arcade games in Assault and the Amiibo Arwings in Zero).
>>
>>738535219
according to le rumor there's supposed to be a secret Star Fox Adventure game that's not a remake in development.
>>
It's crazy how much "PS3 has no games" and its consequences has broken Sony fans
>>
>>738535823
if that's true, why do I feel like this will be yet another open world "experiment"
>>
>>738527913
>has one good game that came out decades ago
>fanbase is full of furry degenerates
the Sonic of Nintendo franchises
>>
>>738536351
That's trending way too much, and a modern Nintendo game about wandering a large world collecting shit and fighting is likely to play a lot like Breath of the Wild. It might not do anything like that and just be fun instead, but I'm not counting on it.

is there any way to enable multiplayer mode in either starfox64recomp or the starship port? i want to try it with my bros locally
>>
>>738530402
It has to be furries that want a starfox story just to have more shots to see an ass. Nobody complained about fighting wily 12 times in megaman because his purpose is a placeholder for new bosses of the same gameplay everyone loves.
>>
>>738536139
ps3 was a disaster on all fronts. only xbox one being a bigger disaster was enough to revive sony.
