>>738572475pls explain anonymous, my tiny brain doesn't get magic
>>738576296No, magic is many times more powerful in OE than it is in 3. The only other game, though haven't played 1, 2 and 7, where magic is this powerful is 4, but in that game magic requires significantly more level investment

why is half my map grey?the only options i changeg were highlight interatable objects and controst color sheme
>>738581560It's a zone you don't control, you can disable the borders + grey colour in the options
>>738581603oh i see so how do I gain control of the area if there is no town there?
Do you think they'll add more lgbtqia+ content in June? We already have trans/furries/scalies/twinks folk in our game but I think we should get more.Be proud, be gay sisters, I'm glad HoMM is now proper gay friendly franchise.I'd love to see 2B model somehow added to the game...we have some anime girls already so another one wouldn't hurt, right?
>>738581747I can only assume nobody can control a zone with no town in it, and a zone with multiple towns require for you to capture them all to control the zone. But not something I've tested
>multiplayer is just about collecting loot boxes that gives you insane amount of creatures>your towns might as well not existI thought these games were all about the towns?
>>738582609yeah thats why its called Towns of Might and Magic
>>738582669Yeah it's called loot boxes of might and magic, where magic is the only viable because the game is so centered around using the global neutral spells. This game is clearly created by someone just pandering the 0.1% of the playerbase, the PvPfags that only interact with a tiny portion of the actual game.
>>738572475does the prate version work or its one of those always online games? i want to see what they added compared to demo
>>738582916why would it be always online

>>738583095i think you've been traumatised by triple-A slopanyway it's been available since day 1 but has gotten like 5 small updates since launch
The graphics and OST is growing on me. Readability is still an issue sometimes though, play on saturation profile and TAA turned off
>make neutral/global spells such an important part of the game>they cost mana to use>magic heroes naturally gets a lot of mana>might heroes doesn't>you can barely use global spells if you play a might heroDid they even think this through?
>>738583235I am waiting for an option to ban them personally maybe town portal is fine
>>738583359Yeah I really hate how it's such a big part and core of the game, in some maps you even start with most of them. So you are totally fucked in pacing if you pick a might hero.
>>738583235You can use them just fine. All you need is to get to at least 5 knowledge, which you can get with artefacts or buildings on the map
I really liked the campaign and scenarios but wow do I hate random mapshe only one that I had success enjoying was staircase
This game will be infected with MPbalancefags.
>>738584660It already is, the game is 100% made for them. Sadly most players haven't or doesn't realize this.
My issue with this game is that the map designs are just ass, most maps and ALL the multiplayer maps are all designed the exact same way, they are CLUTTERED with resources, you start with 2+ towns and there's more towns just a turn or 2 away which is not even guarded. This also means that all the global extra movement speed spells are so strong as the entire game just resolves into just picking up all the million of resources laying around. There's no resource management or any kind of more methodical thinking because there's so much shit laying around in the map.

>>738582773Not that guy, and im not pvpfag myself but when your corebase are all slavpvpfags (beside some nostalgianons that will play game for 3 weeks and drop it) its no wonder why they target them in the first place. Initial release is only a fraction of future earned money, they will do new cities/factions, i dont think they will focus to much on the campaign beside finishing it, it already looks like an afterthought.I loved homm and masters of magic, but I dont plat pvp and frankly, if I play any turn based strat nowadays, 1 faction=1playthought is plenty, because all of this genere games overstays their welcome. Theyre usualy to simple, ai is horrible and retarded, the only thing that saves it are ai cheats.Cant see myself getting mpre than 20h from this game.
>>738585652You complain about "pvpfags" but in reality you are the nostalgianon who drops the game soon after release you describedYou "loved" homm and "if you play tbs today" implies you haven't played homm in years, perhaps not since being a teen
>>738585652PvPfags being the "core" of the userbase is survivorbias tho, these kind of games were not meant to be played for 30 years. The vast majority of the players don't care about the boring sweaty PvP modes that barely even have any PvP in them.
>>738585771Im not complaining anon, i just acknowleged the fact and stated that all strat games have shit ai, so theyre more directed for pvp, even when pvpfags arent big subset. Im not a pvpfag myself, but im a hommslav and im happy that other anons will enjoy the game.Strat games devs cant into capable ai, you need moders and years worth of work to salvage some ai, like vox populi and civ5. Maybe dont waste time on misreading my post and play some olden era sessions anon.
>Might>Heroic strike>Heroic strike for zero focus>Heroic strike free chance per level of morale>Free heroic strike when killing enemy stackYeah its a you problem. Might can do this shit and cast cave in
>>738586185Inquisitor may be the most boring t6 unit by far visually and gameplaywise
>>738585818Ok, you have unpolished campaign (which takes 15h tops?) And 20+ maps with 7 factions. 50% of buyers will probably play 1-2 scenarios, next 25% will at least do all faction playthrough and some campaign, which is probabably 30-40h tops. They all probably leave after 1-1,5month and the poeple thqt will stuck and buy all next dlcs will be pvpers. This will be a subset that devs were gonna listen when it comes to nerfing or buffing certain things, the core audience that will play their game between dlcs.I dont know why people dont know this, its qlways like that with stat games that include pvp component.
>>738586290She literally does nothing. by the type you have her upgraded you have archangels too which are nuking shit before it even reaches you. Doesn't even buff shit decently either.

Are these the best heroes overall? Don't you get way more stats on these than all the others? Also I don't get the point of skilling up the schools of magic, don't you get tier 5 rank on all spells anyways by picking Wisdom?
>>738587283With only wisdom it's hard to get your spells to level 4.You can usually get +1 level from Law, +1 from mage guild upgrade and the last level has to come from somewhere. For PvP you want even more than that because there are ways to lower enemy magic level.
>>738587283It might be the most practical if you're going for an aggressive early victory, but there's nothing interesting about leveling up faster than everybody else.
>>738587283for mp he and Pip seem fucking insanealso anyone already beat campaign on hardest diff? I am getting anally raped by the last stand mission

>>738588113Nice booba, but the game overall has this very cartoony or WoW look.
>>738589089>cartoony or WoW lookWhen has that ever stopped R34?

>>738582609Who’s retarded idea was to put those retarded loot boxes in the game I was so confused in my first PvP game where an enemy hero showed up at like week 2 on my doorstep with like 200 tier 4 creatures. As it turns out the loot cubes give you insane amount of units wtf even is this? Well at least the Arena is fun. Until they remove the loot boxes I’m not playing normal homm, it’s just retarded the towns barely matter at that point.Stupid zoomer liberashka Russians I swear.
>>738589738It's funny because Nival made pic related before WC3 came out.HoMM5 clearly uses the same tech.

Huh, first time I played Temple outside of the demo. I see they've completely changed their speciality. I'm glad they did, it was annoying before, but the current one feels pretty boring. Just a generic stat increase with nothing particularily interesting thematically or mechanically.
Im getting completely rolled by hard bots and they same to always have like 2x the units I have when I see them. Can you guys give me some tips that help?
>>738599680Get townportal (even if you're a might hero).Upgrade fortifications to level 3 and invest in towers damage. The level 3 upgrade is not just for defense, but it also increases unit production!! When the enemy attacks you should be in your city, behind the wall, snipping his archers. Before this make or break fight, make sure to explore surrounding areas an unlock external creature dwellings.>t. I've played plenty of games on hard and won this way.
>>738599680AI starts with far more resources on higher difficulty.Templates are shit, there are multiple towns next to each other, AI will rush unit production and it won't invest into economy because it doesn't need it.It also knows where every pandora box is.Make sure you have a plan for how to maximize unit production without going broke.AI falls off hard after the initial bump.
>>738599680On maps where the enemy starts close to you it can be close to IMPOSSIBLE to win against them unless you maybe do some extreme kind of cheese, because they are cheating. On other maps they are way too easy even at the highest difficulty.
after trying some runs the only faction where I stand a chance vs apocalyptic AI seems to be shism didnt try temple and hive at all thoboth seems to have kinda bad heroes for the kinda armies you face week 3-4
Is it just because random maps or are most map interactables just creature banks?havent seen a garrison or abandoned mine yet
>>738600495>havent seen a garrison or abandoned mine yetAre those even in the map editor?
>>738600693no idea I guess not but original heroes 3 also didnt place any garrisons on random maps I think
>>738600495>>738600693i've had a garrison on a randomly generated map, but only once in 30h+ of play
>>738600946What template/
>>738601421it was made with a template generator and it appeared on a "high level" neutral zone
>>738600362I haven't played apocalyptic, so maybe I'm wrong, but grove seems rather strong in general, I like the hero who generates additional focus points, because that faction really benefits from them.Hive is rought early on. I've tried the reaver hero to rely on the t5 units right from the get go and it kinda works, but not perfectly. I've tried relying on the upgraded t2 and their fist counterattack, but they're somewhat fragile and get fucked by early archers.I always considered the scorpions to be too slow for me to really do much with them, but they are very powerful and tanky, so I wonder if it would make sense to focus entirely on them early on instead.
>base defense with max walls>weaker enemy>select auto battle because what could go wrong right?>first auto battle action is to send out my angels past the walls to end up quickly surrounded and overwhelmed while everyone else watches from behind the walls>got book to unlock all spells including Armageddon>a bunch of phoenix and some other level 7 units>auto battler really loves casting it regularly on the start of a battle even against weaker enemies >usually gets rid of three from my own level 7 unity in the first round who easily would have survived without itWhat is it with auto battler being so eager to get rid of my units?
>>738601867yeah hive also seems not a good fit for me since I always like the rely on ranged atacks and spells not mass haste charge into the enemy face ala stronghold
>>738572475Single hero mode is kinda lame. Also surely the game will get water and underground before the early access is done? Especially the lack of water and ships sucks ass.
bump
>>738601867>>738602035Hive should upgrade parasites immediately, or use locusts as their 1-stacks early on. Rushing the law that gives one focus charge at the start of battle, or a subskill that does the same is essential, as eggs let you split the enemy stacks, and once you get the subskill to let them tank an extra hit, they can start beating individual stacks.

>>738608840>We will give you a better option to doing busywork.Based
>>738608840You still have to decide which global spells you upgrade.
>>738608840global spells offer far more player choice than a simple click-and-forget caravan so i don't know what you're complaining about, i know homm is on the simpler side when it comes to tbs but come on
Speaking of Town Portal, does anyone ever buy something other than that as their first map spell?
>>738609990It's far too useful as the first global spell. But what comes second is debatable. Me, I go for flying.
>>738609990I don't see any reason to dedicate the town hall buildings to astrology points, so you get them so slowly 3 can't come soon enough. Otherwise probably would.
>>738609990Second Wind and Pocket dimesion are perfectly justifiable. Town Portal doesn't provide that much utility early on, except on single hero.
Which spells are actually good enough to take their specialized heroes? I like how the specialization gives additional effects, but I'm not sure if the effects are good enough to actually take. Except for that one slow necropolis hero, that one's awesome.
Which spell school is your favorite?Like if you got a scroll/book to unlock a school for each one which one would you carry?

>>738611924If you already bought it why not try it, what kind of question is this lmao
>>738587283Not really. I feel the good unit specialists are much better for Tournament mode. Getting 1 Speed and Initiative on your Minotaurs/Hydras/Grand Shoth is amazing, the low level shooter stacks benefit greatly from the extra attack/defense and the Heroic Strike/Avatar specialists have a much better unit retention rate. But the xp/stat specialists are never gonna be bad no matter what happens.

>>738611771Yeah, like the other anon said. Daylight is just the best. Then I'd put Arcane at #2 and Nightshade right after at #3. Then Primal at #4 after a powergap.
nightshade is super strong. twilight completely shuts down shooter cheese, starchild is a strong summon, and coup de grace is effectively -33% to every enemy stack.

>>738616195wdym
>>738609990Second Wind is pretty useful, as you don't really have any reason to TP back to your town early on and it does provide you with quite a few movement points, especially if you begin using it early on. But yeah, TP and DD are bis. And only build astrology upgrades, of course.

Is it worth chasing subclasses or is it a bad idea as you might not get it and ruin your hero?
>>738616709depends on the subclass and how big the map iscontrary to what the ui might suggest, you don't need expert in every skill just the basic (or advanced) version of it. but this might be a bug
>>738616709Depends on the subclass. Some are absurdly powerful. Others are utter shit.
>get the mentors skill>says i can upgrade units outside of citiesHow the fuck do I upgrade them? I'm aware I need the upgraded version in my army as well, but I don't see any new buttons.
Is there a good guide somewhere about decision making in this game? I feel like I don't know how to strategize/approach my buildup or who to target in combat so I get analysis paralysis most of the time. It's actually quite stressful playing this because I lack fundamental understanding.
>>738617135https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2Myl00diYsMaybe this has some useful info if you're a complete beginner to the series
>>738616709If you can get it in the campaign and it carries over, sure. In a single scenario by the time you get the subclass the game should be pretty much over, making the subclass a bit pointless with very few exceptions
>>738616898You need to have upgraded unit in your current army. Then you click twice on the basic unit in your army you want to upgrade and then on the Mentoring button.
Today I learned the "Strong Connections" is amazing. It doesn't actually require you to spend focus, just using any skills counts. And it counts towers during defensive sieges as well, so you can get +3 to all stats every turn just from them. I'm level 14 and I ended the siege with like 30-35 in all stats
People are breaking week 1 or day 1 week2I barely do it week 3. i dont get it. I feel like im somewhat efficient and i already play only meta builds yet im a week lateThat and sprint being borderline insane in difficulty.
>>738618490Sounds like a bug
>>738618854It's not a bug, it's just shitty balance.
>>738619105How do actions that don't spend focus benefit you as if you did? That's either a bug or poorly worded explanation
>>738618854>>738619105>>738619205Because those are focus abilities but have the "doesnt spend focus" modifier. You are technically spending focus but its free.Yea we can argue on the stupidity of the description or imbalance.
>>738619205It's counting even 0 cost as spending.Even Focus generating skills will give you extra stats.
Thoughts on the Avatar speciality heroes? The bonus seems pretty weak, but just starting with the summon helps a lot in early game
grove has>best t1 units by a country mile>most magic>most luck>most focus charges and more importantly units that can use themthis shit is broken on every game I have played
>>738619630Avatar specialty is for some reason only present on Might heroes. That's a big red flag. You cannot get thaumaturgy on those as far as I'm aware.
Thaumaturgy should not let you cast avatar
>>738619817Grove magic hero has it>You cannot get thaumaturgy on those as far as I'm aware.Yeah, might heroes have the combat skill instead.
>>738620106Thaumaturgy in current form should not be in this game.
>>738620264I forgot about her, very strong Hero.I would ban her honestly if I didn't ban Grove first.
>>738620293I had to check because it's been a while and I could've sworn homm5 had a secondary skill that let you cast multiple spells per turn, turns out it was sorcery and it's significantly, *significantly* less powerful than thaumaturgy even though OE spells are generally far stronger lol
>>738620698>even though OE spells are generally far stronger lolYeah, nah. A properly levelled H5 dungeon could obliterate basically anything with empowered spells and elemental chains and all that stuff while rocking literally one t1 unit with its 2 turn invisibility. OE has some absurd buffs and debuffs, but I don't think the damaging spells come even anywhere near the unlimited fucking power that you had in H5.
Is there an idiots guide to homm? I played homm 3 when i was a kid but I was just clicking cool looking units and doing random shit. I've been watching people play multiplayer and it looks pretty competitive. Would like to try it.
>>738616709I tried unlocking a subclass, but it seems like the game never wants to give you the last skill you need. There needs to be some way to forget or reroll skills, besides doing a total character reset in a Hive.
>>738623992Talking about the usual MP formats? I dont even get half-way myself usually but watched few streamers and they ended up having same experience as you do. Rushed all of them pretty quickly then couldn't get the last one until right before 3rd battle.
>>738623992>There needs to be some way to forget or reroll skillsThere is.

>>738589734I said it on /vst/ but I am one of those people who like 5's artstyle more than 3's because WC3 is my favorite RTS game of all time so I have massive nostalgia for early 2000s cartoony pc 3D, and I would have preferred if this game cleaned up the models less and made them more blocky. But if they did that people would just shit on it for entirely different reasons even though I would be its sole defender even if no one else was.
>>738615798It looks nice but a lot of people living like that in Russia, their town is maybe 5 people (I don't even mean that as an exaggeration, Russia officially has 177,000 various cities, towns, hamlets, villages, etc. 20,000 of them have a population of 0, and 50,000 of them have a population of 1). >>738634121Honestly anon, I don't know how that works either. Do you just...have to find someone willing to sit at their computer for a very long time?
>>738633801I think the same thing for any turn based strategy game. I get nervous about playing something as simple as a TCG online, but that's mostly because I don't have all the pieces and strategies memorized.
>>738634148>Honestly anon, I don't know how that works either. You press the "I want to play multiplayer" button in the main menu and it connects to a server that lets you host and join game lobbies. The way almost every RTS that didn't use direct P2P worked.
>>738589430Warcraft was always cartoony. 1 and 2 are basically a bloody saturday morning cartoon.Modern wow isnt so much cartoony as its fucking gay.
>>738634220I would think that's simpler, though there might be some rage quits.>>738634229And people stick around for such a long ass game? I used to play fighting games and people don't always stick around for a match, but if the match took an hour and the other guy was clearly losing? I don't know anons.
>>738635190>I used to play fighting games and people don't always stick around for a matchI think that's less about patience and more of an ego issue. For most fighting games there's always a chance you can have a comeback even at 1 pixel of health. As far as turns taking too long, you can always limit time per turns. There's also auto-resolve combat, but I personally wonder what's the point if you're barely even playing the game any more.
>>738635870How long is a typical match?
>>738635965it depends on the mode. normal single hero is like 2-3 hours. the tournament mode is faster.

>>738639526A row and a column. Bingo's supposed to be 5x5.
>>738582609Homm3 multiplayer iirc was also mostly about collecting units from one-off structures after beating guards. Oddly I didn't see much such type of buildings in OE. Mostly you just get resources at such guarded structures.
>>738586185>>738586290What's wrong with Inquisitor?

>>738623992>but it seems like the game never wants to give you the last skill you need.Oddly the skills don't have a equal chance to show up. From what I read some can have a chance 1%. Looks like the best way is to hope you roll one of the low chance ones early on and if not forget about it and pick just the best ones ignoring subclasses.
>>738580015?
>>738639845Depends on the map type. IIRC Spider is filled to the brim with these structures.
I've never played a HoMM game even though I've been interested in picking it up for a while. Should I try this out or go for one of the old ones people love like HoMM3?
>>738642902If you've been waiting on the older games and Olden Era seems interesting enough to get you to play, then sure. OE is still in Early Access, there are some missions and the template skirmish modes, but it's not a fully complete game for singleplayer. HoMM3 is a finished game, and the Complete Edition is trivially cheap on GoG. It often goes on sale, buy or pirate that instead of the HD remake that came out on steam a while back. That game (or 5 if you want 3D) has a complete campaigns for you to play.

I got absolutely wrecked by this Hive AI army when defending a neutral city. Massive army, zero chance. Then that same army is attacked by Temple AI that barely has any units and is defeated? Is it RNG or what. No calculation done whatsoever.
>>738633801People play on specific PvP RMG templates, a match is usually something like 60-80 min. There's also the arena mode, which is basically just one combat army vs army,

>>738582609You are right but that is basically how Homm3 multi-player works since ever, you don't get your main army from castles you go opening Pandora boxes and looting everything under the sun. Im a campaign fag so I'm not worried. And pvp enjoyers are probably nodding as we speak. It's a good game. Time will tell if it's worthy of becoming a III/V successor. Hearing pieces here and there of the Haven theme and the homm V over world theme again in 2026 made me teary eyed. It's stupid but I couldn't help it. I don't know if they will succeed but they are trying. The first ones since Nival. Hope they can redeem the cluster fuck of 6 and 7. Homm7 had its moments tho.
>>738583095Hotseat was big back in the day. It still is for Homm
>>738633825I like 5 artstyle over 3 because 5 is like 2 but on 3d.
>>738648450The studios that did 6 and 7 got fucked over by ubishit, though, it's not like they didn't try to make good games. Even Nival was under severe pressure, they talk about it in the interviews and there's even a comedy piece written about the whole situation, but I guess they just had more weight and balls to stand up against the ubishit's bullshit, and ubishit also wasn't as obnoxious and terrible back then as they were later.

>>738648450Found it, this is from April 2006.What would happen if UbiSoft was publishing an animated cartoon about Winnie-the-Pooh...1 year to release dateThe publisher approves the concept and the production planPublisher: Everything is fine, but the name of the bear - "Winnie-the-Pooh" will need to be changed to "Popol Vuh".Developer: ?!Publisher: It will add to the epic and fairytale feel of the cartoon.Developer: But in the original Milne's text the bear's name is "Winnie-the-Pooh".Publisher: Popol Vuh sounds a lot better. There's some gnashing of teeth from the developer who, nevertheless, goes to work on the cartoon.Half a year later (and half a year to the release date)Developer: The key scenes are ready, the voice-overs for Popol Vuh and Owl have been recorded. We are working on the remaining voice-overs.Publisher: We are generally satisfied, but we have a number of suggested improvements. First of all, the name Popol Vuh (formerly known as Winnie-the-Pooh) is just not right, we decided to change it to Gilgamesh. "Piglet" is no better. The pig's name should be Sardanapal.Developer: But it's too late to change the names! We shall have to redo all of the voice-overs, and redraw some of the scenes. That would take too long. The names are not that important. We could use the time on something more significant.Publisher: We have been publishing cartoons for a long time. It is ESSENTIAL that the names are changed.Developer: Oh, all right...Publisher: Besides, the presents that Eeyore gets from Gilgamesh and Sardanapal are, well, weird. Why are they giving him an empty pot and an exploded balloon? These are no presents to give to a friend.Developer: That was in Milne's text! We are making a cartoon based on his works, aren't we?Publisher: No, these presents just won't do. The bear's present should be a Holy Grail that his grandfather brought back from his crusade.Developer: ?! A... Grail???Publisher: Yes, a Holy Grail.
>>738648450Developer: And the Pigle... err... Sardanapal would put the balloon into a Grail?Publisher: What's wrong with that? Won't fit? Make the Grail bigger then.Developer: But Winnie-the-Pooh has no grandfather. He is a teddy bear! Besides, teddy bears simply don't do crusades.Publisher: Use your imagination! What do you meand, "no crusades"? It's fiction! Real life teddy bears don't have fathers and grandfathers, but we are creating a new world, so everything is possible! By the way, we just had an idea. An episode needs to be added to the cartoon: Gilgamesh's dying grandfather bequeathes him a holy chalice and instructs to give it to a virgin jennet (female donkey) on the day of the triple lunar eclipse.Developer: A female donkey? It was never specified, but it is assumed that Eeyore is male. And a triple eclipse? We don't even have a single moon.Publisher: So it was male, so what? "A virgin jennet" is so much more epic. Let it be female. Is it that hard to change its gender?Developer: If we start adding new episodes, changing the characters and minding the stellar mechanics, we would definitely miss the release date. Or we shall have to sacrifice some quality.Publisher: You shall have to work harder then. we agree to a later release, but all of the suggestions HAVE to be there. The release date is postponed for six months. The characters are renamed, the new episodes are added.A month before the release date.Developer: We have implemented all of the suggestions. A few more episodes have been finished. All of the voices are done.Publisher: Great job. But we have a number of suggestions.Developer: Really?!!! AND WHAT ARE THEY?Publisher: Gilgamesh (Popol Vuh, Winnie-the-Pooh) needs to be renamed to Ursus Dominatus.Developer: Fuc... But ALL of the sound is finished! We can't simply change a name like that.Publisher: It is necessary. Besides, the Rabbit has no name. Let his name be Culvertucas. And we don't like the fact that he lives in a hole.
>>738642902This one is a mix of 3 and 5 with a lot of QoL features and more refined gameplay in a sense. But overall a worse game than both. I would recommend playing 3 and 5 first. Then Olden era. But you could play OE as a standalone experience on the series and it would be fine. 1 is too dated. 2 is great. 4 is good but weird good. 3 is a masterpiece. 5 second best. 6 is undiluted diarrhea. 7 is a semi polished turd with some gold flakes inside it. Would not recommend 7 to anyone but I can assure a lot of people that completely dismissed it would find good things even great in it because I was one of those people.
>>738648450Developer: And where do you think rabbits live? In easter eggs?Publisher: The sarcasm is totally uncalled for. See, "rabbit" sounds like "hobbit". Hobbits live in holes. Lord of the Rings' director Peter Jackson could sue us for using his idea.Developer: Actually, the idea is not his, it belongs to J.R.R.Tolkien.Publisher: Doesn't matter. This other guy could sue us then. We don't want legal trouble.Developer: Right. And where should Rabbit live?Publisher: On a tree.Developer: But Milne states that Rabbit lives is a hole! Like every normal rabbit. And even if we put Rabbit on a tree, how would Winnie-the... er... Gilgamesh... oh, fuck... Ursus Dominatus get stuck in the doorway, now that it all happens on a tree?Publisher: Think of something. Let him get caught in a branch, for example. And who is this guy that you refer to all the time? Milne, was it?Developer: He wrote "Winnie-the-Pooh". He's the author.Publisher: If he doesn't like our improvements over his, let us be frank, hopeless script (which we are desperately trying to make into something decent), you should simply fire him.Developer: Impossible, he is dead.Publisher: May he rest in peace. One problem less.Developer: ...Publisher: By the way, why is Owl able to spell "Tuesday", and not "Saturday"? The Jews could get really pissed off about that, with their Sabbath worship. Owl should be able to spell both "Saturday" and "Sabbath".Developer: Will do...A week before the release date.Developer: It is almost ready. All of the suggestions have been seen to. The artists are adding final touches.Publisher: Great job there. Could you make one more small change now?Developer: It's only a week until the deadline, so we better not. What is it?Publisher: Ursus Dominatus hums "Rum-tum-tiddle-um-tum". Could we change it to "tum-tum-doodle-rum-rum"?Developer: There really is no difference, and we have a whole lot of finishing work to do.
your favorite hero so far? mine is Typhona
>>738648450Publisher: But the community insists that it should go like that. It's very important.Developer: Ok, if the community wants it, we shall change it.Publisher: Good. In that case, it really won't be hard to make a few more small changes:The present that Sardanapal gives to Eeyore the virgin jennet needs to be changed. An exploded balloon is not a good present, really. It can't even compare to the Holy Grail that his friend Ursus Dominatus brings. Besides, Ursus Dominatus sounds too complex, change it back to Winnie-the-Pooh, we need that authentic feel. So. It would be much better if Sardanapal decides to give Eeyore a hand-crafted zeppelin. He would travel to her birthday party by this zeppelin, when a pack of flying monkeys (on biplanes) would attack him in the air. A tracer shot would pierce the zeppelin and cause an explosion of the hydrogen inside. Sardanapal would miraculously survive the inferno, and escape the flaming wreck. Burned and wounded, he would manage to reach Eeyore, and present her a flying monkey's head, after which he would die at her feet. The head would be then placed into the Grail, and a holy light would fill the cave, where a funeral of Culvertucas who died in a battle with Voltron was taking place. Surrounded by light, Owl would descend through a hole in the cave's ceiling, to give Eeyore a dragon's tail acquired in the lands of the Dark Overlord. The tail would fit Eeyore perfectly. At this precise moment, the triple eclipse would take places, and the donkey would transform into a first-born dragon Eeyoresha. Eeyoresha then would proceed to create a new world, making the Sun from the Holy Grail, and the Moon from the monkey's head. Owl would become the sky, and Winnie-the-Pooh would become the land. Sardanapal's ashes would make the wind of the new life. By the way, his name should be changed to Piglet. The developer is convulsing.P.S. Miraculously, the cartoon is released...
>>738649287Brother. Is this real? Who said this? Nival crew?
>>738649271
>>738649430Yeah, from what I gather it was written by one of the Nival guys in 2006.
Today I learned:Quillin's Ball Lightning ability where he teleports and deals 100% damage to everyone around has no cooldown. I got the artifact set that lets you use skills without ending your turn and could just use that skill 4 times in a row and then attack normally. Fucking insane, you can take out entire armies in a singly turn if you've got the focus.
>>738586185> angle not femaleTrash game.
>>738649802Actually wait, we can go even harder. One of the artifacts from that set increases skill damage by 60% already, so it's an insanely powerful strategy already, but consider this:there's another artifact that lets you use spells of the same magic school twice in a turn. You can cast the skill 4 times on a fully charged bar, and then you can STILL have 2 casts of Energize, letting you use that incredibly powerful AoE damage skill 10 fucking times in a single turn. God damn, I have to try it out just for the lulz now.
>>738649897>angle not femaleAll about me there are angels--strange angels that have no counterparts on the earth. I am desperately afraid. The deeds of the dead move through angles in dim recesses of time. They are hungry and athirst! All the evil in the universe was concentrated in their lean, hungry bodies. Or had they bodies? I saw them only for a moment; I cannot be certain. But I heard them breathe. Indescribably for a moment I felt their breath upon my face. They turned toward me and I fled screaming. In a single moment I fled screaming through time. I fled down quintillions of years.

>>738653773>>738654424I tried a temple run with the hero's strike specialist and idk, it was solid, but I certainly didn't feel like it was overpowered. As far as I know the only ways to get more than 1 strike per round as you're suggesting is the leadership perks that gives you a 5% chance to refresh the strike after use per morale point, so 25% at maximum, so an average of 1 additional hit per 4 rounds. It's not that much. And there's the perk that lets you strike again after killing an enemy stack once per round, but I prefer the perk that removes a counterattack from the hit enemy instead. What else is there?

>>738656929>AoE spells and other units' AoE attacks. Why?Idk how to make Stinger heroic strike viable, you dont take the free one because of the stance generating 1 focus point so you can take the CD refresh on ally unit dying and on killing enemy, possibly casting 3 in one turn. But maybe the idea is to just go for raw dmg and hit once but hard, i rly dont know.
>>738657042Huh. I guess it could be good in early game to just fill your army with 1 unit stacks and let them get themselves killed to refresh your strike? But later on when you've got a full army, that perk would become near useless.
>>738657309You need to somehow get fast advantage in the box formats like sprint, late game isnt an issue when you get strong enough for 100 medusas, 12 dragons and 50 hydras. All because you sacrificed 2-3 trogs every fight which you already do.
