Tales of Eternia is the best Tales game. For me anyway. That 2D art style and combat, comfy story and characters. It's my FF7.

>>738589496There are a lot of abilities in Tales of Vesperia that I wish you got way earlier, but the combat is fun very early on. The normal attacks into arte sequence is fun, you can have an AI hit an enemy to keep them stunned between your attacks, and the manual cancel free run thing is fun to play with to try and push your combos farther. Defense is pretty good with blocking and some special defensive skills so you're thinking a bit about how exactly to deal with an enemy attack.
