Will he ever return, anon?
>>
Too expensive
>>
At this point, would you even want another judgement? Another game where RGG refuses to allow any characters to die? Another game with endless daidoji deus ex machinas? Another game full of shitty retcons? Just let it go, the good times are over, RGG is done.
>>
>>738582569
Probably true sadly especially after his wife got involved. Maybe Kaito will continue the series..
>>
>>738582410
No. Only the first game was good.

no, all the behind the scene stuff with kimura and his talent agency have made it impossible

they could make something small in scope like gaiden/pirate yakuza for kaito but it'd sell 5 copies
>>
>>738583070
yes
she was stabbed by a rubber ice pick that Daidoji skillfully replaced Soma's actual ice pick
then she pretended to be dead in order to sell it
now she teaches in super secret Daidoji school

They already did Kaito gaiden though

3 is the only game that's had character deaths or events retconned
>>
>>738584086
The Yakuza 3 retcons are unironically good because Mine should never had died and Nagoshi was the one who forced the wholesome chungus orphanage plot into it which ruined Kiryu's character and made him boring and cringe

Nagoshi is so overrated. All the problems with the franchise ultimately stem from him.
>decides after Yakuza 2 the games need to be less gritty and more light hearted
>his policy that protags can't be criminals or murderers which means no active Yakuza members and is the reason for rubber bullets
>his idea to dissolve the Yakuza which created the issue of needing a new faction to create drama, which is why the Daidoji are a focus now
>Ichiban's existence
Yokoyama is just sorting through the wreckage Nagoshi left behind
>>
>>738584597

What, so they can make a pirate clown Yagami generations 2: Twitchcon chronicles? Let it go. Let it go, don't let RGG touch this again.

Finished Long Vacation and I'm part way into Love Generation.

Do I have to learn Mahjong?

>>
>>738582593
>At this point, would you even want another judgement?
Two games we got were great, but it's clearly no longer the same team that developed those.
>>
>>738584731
Nagoshi became very dependent on recycling assets. RGGs entire core is that they can cheapen on development costs because they have 20 something years of assets in the bank. Nagoshi didn't realize the cost of modern development even when using something like UE5 because RGG hasn't had to do something completely from scratch for a very long time.
>>
>>738582410
It's always possible that Sega puts him in a new game so he can become just another man who erased his name. I don't think they're pushing very hard for him to appear, though, and that actor isn't cheap to get.
>>
>>738584086
8 brought back Richardson. 7 did Kashiwagi.
>>
>>738582593
I fell in love with this franchise but I agree. Infinite Wealth was Fast and Furious-tier slop. I have Pirate Yakuza in my library and will play it but if its more slop, I may have to drop the franchise.
>>
>>738584597
Kill yourself Yokoyama you fucking hack
>>
>>738582593
>At this point, would you even want another judgement
If Nagoshi returned, yes. What you're saying is the typical Yokoyama slop that he is pushing. I was hoping that Stranger Than Heaven wouldn't have this problem but ever since the new trailer opened with the MC clan saying Tojo Clan I lost all hopes for it (not even mentioning fucking Snoop Dogg in it for some reason). Nagoshi leaving is where whatever soul RGG games had left with him.
>>
>>738587690
Pirate Yakuza is slop but at least it's self-aware slop which is more than can be said for Infinite Wealth
>>
>>738587735

I don't like Yagami as a protagonist, he's boring
People will jump at me but I really think he's the worst character out of the main cast of J/LJ.
>>
>>738588423
He is infinitely better than Ichiban and Kiryu though, and anons still like those characters.
>>
>>738587690
it's a great game with a good but retarded story that doesn't really fit the tone of the series.

I honestly doubt it. Kimura is like THE biggest actor of japan.
>>
>>738589252
it's not the same..
>>
>>738589693
King of ratings and basically #1 since 1990. How tf could they afford him for two games?
>>
>>738591125
Some actors will do projects if they find them interesting enough and probably for Kimura Judgement was one of those cases. I think there was also more deals going on in the background that ultimately didn't play out, l think there was even a TV series based on Judgement on the table at point with Kimura obviously being the lead.

He seemed quite invested in the games at the time. It was a great match for his persona and the type of character he really likes playing: Mature and reserved cool dudes with a slightly dark demeanor but with a heart of gold.
>>
>>738591125
>How tf could they afford him for two games?
his management company handled all of it, which was one of the reasons there was such a huge shit stink to begin with as they demanded strict image controls
>>
>>738592767
It isn't out. It could very well be the worst game RGG has ever made. We don't know much about it.
>>
>>738592767
Judgement being good is why I have some faith about Stranger than Heaven hitting it's mark. RGG seems to do good when it's a "New" game.
>>
>>738592173
>deals going on in the background that ultimately didn't play out
Very likely. Not to mention this was done in a week or two. He rapped his lines, did a little mocap and that's that.
>>738592806
I think he liked them.

>>738592842

Was foreseeable.
>>
>>738592871
I bet against you. The loser shall post some funny things here.
>>
Do people actually want a Judgment 3? The setup of 2 is incredible, but the plot completely collapses halfway through the game and rushes to a lame conclusion (with admitedly the best final boss track of all time).
>>
I didn't even buy the kaito dlc for the last game. Heard it was 3-5 hour slop and they wanted 30 bucks for it. That shit never even went on sale. Sega being too greedy.
>>
>>738592871
Sure, but they also seem to do good when Nagoshi is directing, and he doesn't even work at RGG any more. They could take notes from the Judgment games and make another game very similar and just as fun. They could have done that with 7 Gaiden, 8 Gaiden and Kiwami 3, though. It seems like they learned the wrong lessons from Judgment. "One style should be red, and one should be blue." "We should let the player do a Tekken juggle combo." Those aren't exactly bad ideas, but they don't immediately make every game they're in automatically good.
>>
>>738593561
it was good but yeah bit pricey for the length
