Why does /v/ hate Red Dead Redemption 2?
Is it because of Lenny? Tilly? Charles?
>>
>make a game about the 1800s - 1950s old western era
>racism is still at all time high
>no one is racist in the gang or sexist

>make a game about 2026 Amercia
>BLACK PEOPLE
>>
no ones hates rdr2 except the same old reddit tourists who can't move on
>>

>getting horse shit right
>leaving RD Online to die
>can’t get basic racism right
>>
>>738583319
I like it.
>>
>>738583319
Movie game with an empty open world. There is nothing to like.
>>

I don't hate it, but I have a question to ask...

I am only at the part where you learn to fish. Should I do missions and side stuff relatively at the same time? I feel like I could just explore the map on my own and do shit, rob people, hunt, etc. But I'm scared I won't want to do missions after that. That's what I did with GTA V back in the days, and never got to finish the story because I had already explored the map and done everything on my own.

Should I dose out Exploration with Story in RDR2?

I actually like it a lot but it's from 2018 and I've already played through it 3 times and 100% it.

It's my all-time favourite game actually
>>
>>738586241
The best time for exploration is where you are now desu, when the story ramps up you'll naturally start to focus more on the missions
>>
I hate it because its a typical bloated modern amerimutt turd instead of being a good video game
>>
>>738586241
Try to find a balance anon. What I did in my playthrough was doing a mission, then roaming around a bit, hunting a legendary animal or two, or doing side quests. Then when it starts getting repetitive, do a mission or two and repeat. You gotta find a balance between the main story and the other content. Although I will admit that I spent a majority of the time roaming around the map, finding stuff to do.

The sheer disconnect between me and the PC.
>Arthur, you're sick, you need to get somewhere warm or you'll die horribly.
>Okay, instead I'm going to stick around this gaggle of fucks ups that are tearing themselves apart
The stupidity is is unrelatable.
>>
I don't hate it but controlling your character is still stiff and hasn't improved from RDR1 at all.
Also Tomb Raider 2013 fixed the stupid "stick to cover" system, why is it still in place today is a mystery to me
The world and the details and TECHNOLOGY is insane, but the game fails at the very basic stuff
>>
>>738586678
What do you want Arthur to do? Just leave the gang he has been part of for his entire life, so he can go somewhere and die in a ditch? No, he does a chad move and still tries to help the gang while he still has the strength to move.
>>
>>738583319
because it shits on whatever slop they're playing
>>
>>738583319
Mostly because it's a solid contender for The Shittiest Controls in a Videogame Award™.

nobody hates the game. The same autistic retard samefagging for years isn't everyone

>Equip the weapons I want to use.
>Ride my horse to the next objective.
>Game automatically unequips my fucking items.
Whoever came up with this idea deserves to be fucking shot.

This is actually a huge pain in the ass.
That and how every mission is on rails
>>
>>738589239
>Mission to infiltrate a prison.
>Dumb cunt Sadie tells me to snipe the guard with a loud rifle.
>That's fucking retarded, I'm just going to sneak up to him using that marsh as cover and take him out silently instead.
>MISSION FAILED: GO SNIPE THE GUARD WITH A LOUD RIFLE LIKE A RETARD
>>
>>738583319
I think it's just brain broken racists that hate it honestly
>>
>>738583319
the reek of modern sensibilities are all over RDR2. every character feels like a theater kid pretending to be a cowboy instead of just actual cowboys. the first game felt so much more authentic and “lived-in” in terms of dialogue and characterization
>>
>>738583319
I want to start by saying this game's world is amazing, it's immersive, I remember just exploring and there'd be a random event that felt natural for me to interact with.
Everything else? Garbage.
The missions are garbage and make no sense, Micah slaughters an entire fucking town, while you're hiding out with little-to-no consequence.
But if you actually get the cops called on you, and do a few crimes your bounty will fucking skyrocket to the hundreds.
>Kill a whole town in a mission
>no bounty
>Kill 2-5 cops outside of a mission
>Bounty is 300$
The grind for money is bullshit too, I literally just gave up and stopped playing Singleplayer because I wasn't even having fun by that point.

The incongruence between the freedom and realism of the vast open world and all the game systems compared with the rail-roading of the individual missions and the story itself really put me off.
What's the point of bragging about your horse testicle temperature mechanic if nothing ever changes in Valentine despite me murdering 30 cops everytime we do a mission there? It doesn't even have that large a population of civilians.
I'm not saying that I want to depopulate the towns, just that they are trying to have their cake and eat it with the mashing together of the open-world and the realism and the set story which is what they really wanted to do.
>>
>>738583319
Lenny and Tilly were cool. Charles was a whiny faggot
>>
>>738583319
RDR1 went downhill when you got to Blackwater, luckily that's almost the end of the game
RDR2 goes downhill when you get to Saint Denis and you're barely halfway through
Cowboys should not be in big industrial cities
>>
>>738591027
Saint Denis would have been cool if it was the final act; the gang meeting their demise amidst the infancy of the coming world. However, the game puts along for too long afterwards with the shitty-ass Guarma segment obliterating the pacing.
