>B-BUT THE CPU IS MORE POWERFUL THAN A PS5!!
So? Name a SINGLE game where a good CPU matters, outsite of DD2 and Milds. The Switch 2's CPU has 25% the power of the fucking Steamdeck and it still gets ports of PS5 games with only the graphics impacted.

Valve should have used a cheaper CPU and used the extra money for a better GPU.

Ironically GTA 6.

All UE5 games

I would pay double the price for this before I ever waste my money on a ps5 again.

Few NPCs, crappy shadows, and you have to remove "props" because otherwise the console can't keep up. Lel
>>
>cheaper cpu
that would imply going back to ddr4 you utter fucking moron
>>
>>738584107
CPU is important for eat sports titles because they are comparatively low GPU requirement
>>
Consoles abuse upscaling and frame generation; they require more CPU power because they are rendering at lower resolutions, thus increasing the load on the CPU.
>>
>>738584107
It's true, CPU doesn't matter because gaming has stagnated. We're still essentially playing 7th gen games, just with fancier graphics.
>>
>>738584107
I'm CPU bound in practically every ue5 game with 5800x and a 5070, this is playing at 4k(with dlss) as well

>crappy shadows
Isn't the crappy shadows because of the Switch 2's weaker GPU, not the CPU?

This. In the age of CPU bottlenecks I used to imagine what future games would be like with giant hordes of enemies like the opening of Fellowship, or AI that would behave in crazy realistic ways. Instead, nothing happened at all.

It's due to a CPU bottleneck, although the GPU does the work you need, so the CPU is used for something called a Draw call for shading.

It doesn't matter. It's gonna get poor performance due to thermal-throttling. If you've ever played on a mini-ITX or even a gaming laptop, you already noticed how you never get the real performance of your specs because it just always gets too hot. The Shit Machine is dead on arrival. I might still buy one at the thrift store or marketplace in a couple of months for pocket change. Not to play, but to scoop out the crap components and fill it with dirt and plants instead. I feel like a squared plant pot might adequately fit in my modern apartement, as I'm tired of the standard shaped ones.

that can't be true I was told switch 2 was more powerful

swicth 2 GPU is being bottlenecked by a meme CPU, Its GPU is somewhere between an RTX 2050m and a 3050m, with a CPU no more powerful than a laptop processor with fewer cores from several years ago((although it can be said that the test wouldn't be entirely adjusted to the architecture of the Switch 2, more or less, even giving a margin, the CPU isn't much better))

Bruh even PS4 had GDDR5

The steam machine isn't a mini-ITX build or a powerhouse

>>
>>738585429
the internals are like 80% heatsink. Gaming laptops has super tiny fins and fans so of course they're going to throttle, mini itx builds are usually fine as long as they don't have a really high end gpu. I really doubt thermals are going to be anything worse than a typical console

How the fuck does the Steam deck go neck to neck with the PS5
Tf are they going to pull when they release a arm based Steam deck.

Good thing the Steam Machine doesn't have that?

PC has far more games that utilize the CPU more than walking simulators and platformers.

Can it be configured to go to desktop mode on start up instead of Steam mode?
>>
>>738584107
X4, X:Rebirth, Stellaris, Dwarf Fortress, literally anything with stimulation. Consoles with their weak CPUs were a major reason why AI in videogames stagnated for over a decade.

Single core vs single core performance. Brainlet.
>>
>>738584107
How many TeraFLOPS are we talking?
My gaming laptop has 12.3.
>>

Arguably one of the more important aspects for videogames.
>>
>>738591735
Around 8.6TF depending on final clock. The GPU is just the RX 7600M with a tweaked clock profile and power limit. Official specs list compute throughput as 17.27TF, but thats taking unusable dual issue instruction throughput into account.
>>
>>738584107
gaming pcs have to compensate for the fact that most pc ports are complete dogshit with 0 optimization, they need every ounce of extra hardware performance they can get

it's so i can run 3 games at once

Except all the missing NPCs and lower framerate? You know the CPU effects framerate too, right?

Not to derail this shit but I can't understand the obsession with this shit. "Back in the day" we didn't glorify IE and Windows media player. We looked for alternatives because those sucked some fucking mongolian dick. I'm starting to think that some zoomers think that Microsoft used to developed nice software and not just "less shit than what we have now".
