Have you tried the Brigador Killers demo yet?
Don't think I've got 10+ hours of gameplay out of any other demo before.
>>
>>738587704
It's pretty fun, did all missions. A shame that the Mongoose's aiming is slightly bugged.
Also the shitty grey MS-paint blob placeholders piss me off more than they should.
>>
>>738587704
To be totally honest I didn't like the first brigador and got bored of it in like 2 hours, can't imagine this being any different
>>
>>738588889
The placeholder icons are really bad, yeah, most of the weapons with placeholder icons also have placeholder models and sounds which just made me question, why have them there at all if they are so unfinished?
Not being able to tell what ammo a certain weapon uses at a quick glance because of a placeholder icon was also quite annoying.
>>738589603
The game has a completely different gameplay loop than the first game, you might end up enjoying it more than the first one.
I really enjoyed everything except the gameplay loop from the first game and therefore didn't end up spending too long with the game, but the Killers demo kept me hooked until I got done building all of the vehicles and finished all of the missions.
>>
>>738589603
The gameplay is quite different from the first Brigador, with a lot more focus on smaller and controlled infantry-focused combat as well as salvaging than "destroy everything and everyone you see"
I didn't really like the first Brigador either, but setting up your equipment for a mission, trying to haul as much shit as possible back and finally acquiring vehicles meant for combat is surprisingly fun.
It feels like it's missing something like a proper uprading system and a better implementation of a black market merchant though.
>>
What's a good isometric crpg that I can use all of Brig's amazing char portraits as party members? Can't think of anything suitably cyberpunk or sci fi with IWD style party building.
>>
>>738587704
Looks cool, I'll be waiting for the full release though.
>>
Never heard of this game before, but it looks cool. But I lost all interest when I saw it wasn't a multiplayer or coop game.
Still going to try the demo out.
>>
>>738590947
You'll be waiting for a long time
>>
>>738591163
I'm in no hurry, they can take as long as they need.
>>
>>738587704
>Don't think I've got 10+ hours of gameplay out of any other demo before.
My autistic ass got around 20 hours from a singleplayer MMO demo. I'm not interested in your game but have a bump.
>>
Oh nice there's a new game
>>
>>738587704
I've played almost 9 hours of it, enjoyed it a lot. I struggled a lot with armored stuff though, it took me forever to find anything that can actually deal with APCs and even that was just a handful of single shot LAWs and I think I lost the last of those to some armored guy in one of the last few missions so I kinda hope they make loot a little more predictable.

also forgot to say I love how every weapon in the game is some retarded abomination you'd see in a forgotten weapons video, like the cops running around with vintage aimpoints on 1911s and the french sniper-configuration .357 revolvers.
>>
>>738587704
looks amazing
>>
>>738591768
The APCs are easy enough to deal with, even the ones with extra armor go down from one or two rockets or some nades, the normal ones can be disabled even with some small arms fire.
There's also this pretty light mountable energy weapon with long range that does high long lasting AOE damage and stuns enemies including the APCs, very effective.
My complaint about the armored units is that there aren't enough of them, once you get yourself a vehicle that can fit a proper gun to it, the APCs and cinderblock suit troops don't really offer any sort of challenge.
The sinkhole is also a great place to farm some explosives and other rarer small arms and ammo, you often find like 20 RPG rockets in one crate.
There are a lot of troops on the lower levels but no vehicles, so they are pretty easy to mow down, just don't go beyond level 3 or was it 4 if you're not prepared.
>>738591867
The devs really know their guns and that makes me glad.

Am I missing something in the sinkhole? First time trying it and every exit and the elevator is red.
>>
Does anyone know if these sick images are available in a higher resolution? I tried reverse image search but nothing usable came up
>>
>>738587704
Of course not, it was vaporware to me until right this second
>>
>>738594364
You need to go into a room that has these white walls, it unlocks the exits and the elevator to go deeper.

These type of rooms in particular, didn't notice it was so close to the elevator in your picture, would have included it in my earlier post otherwise.
>>
>>738595153
>>738595263
I figured it out by accident like 30 seconds after I posted but thanks anyway
>>
I played the first game and read (listened) to both books. The books are fantastic since the author really shows how brutal war is to everyone involved and the second book has the protagonists as literal terrorists. The entire point of the second game and book is committing terrorists acts which is just damn unique.

OH MY GOD
IS THAT A PIXEL THEMED GAME?
I AM SO ON BOARD GUYS, JUST PICK ME UP
>>
>>738595656
if it was a cheese pixel you'd catch it
>>
>>738595656
It's using pre-rendered 3d models that are turned into sprites like a lot of isometric games did back in the day, I don't know how you can turn that into "pixel themed".
>>
>>738595552
I had no idea these guys are randomly so committed to the setting
>>
>>738596403
the party van do be quite cube like and bald. thobei to be desu sama
>>
>>738596496
they sell metal minis of all the vehicles too.
>>
Controls and UI are some of the worst I've ever experienced in any game ever.
The onboarding is horrendous, each "tutorial mission" is 30 seconds where you do one small thing with zero depth or interactivity.
The sandbox mode could be fun I guess.
Game has great visuals, but the meat is flop-tier and unpolished if they want people to pay for it in the future
>>
>>738596503
>van is boxy
say it ain't so
>>
>>738587704
How is it different from Brigador?
>>
Like the previous game it has cool lore, cool setting but enemies are completely braindead. They simply bumrush you and it's trivial to spray them to death by camping corners so it gets boring fast if inventory clicking didn't bore you enough already.
>>
>>738597073
main difference is you can get out of your warcrime and go mano o mano with some poor fag
>>
>>738597073
The sandbox is this insurgency type of campaign where you have to procure vehicles, weapons, ammo, parts and funds from missions and slowly build up your arsenal.
The actual campaign in the demo is more like a fast tutorial, so no clue how that will pan out in the full game.
>>738597230
Honestly, with the tools the AI has all they can do is bumrush you, I really hope there will be mortar/artillery units at some point and perhaps some well defended mounted weapons at roadblocks.
They do tend to try and use cover when nearby to some or when supressed, but most of the time they do end up defaulting to bumrushing.
>>
>>738595552
>both books
there are more than one? Steam fucking lied to me
>>
>>738588889
Funny that the Mog of all things has... calibration issues.
>>
I just love the graphics in both of these games. They remind me of hyper detailed Tiberian Sun
>>
looks like generic slop

>>
>>738587704
Couldn't help but notice the player character got shot at and didn't die
>>
>>738597875
he's wearing a carmine rig which is essentially an armored exo suit
>>
The fuck they were doing for the last 10 years?
>>
It's kinda shite.
Inventory management is a pain in the ass because the UI is so fucking shit. Half the guns and items are unfinished. Why even put that in a demo?
Once you get the Carmine rig and a machinegun the game is also essentially over because nothing is a threat anymore. Enemies going prone and then just...lying there does nothing but drag combat out and waste my time.
Shooting stuff is pretty satisfying, though.
>>
>>738598436
writing books, selling minis and working on the game i would guess
>>
>>738589603
Same here. This is when I realized that Mandalore was full of shit once again and only exists to shill stuff. His taste is terrible if he actually likes all the games he recommends.
>>
>>738587704
Played a little bit but not much. I have high expectation since I love the first game and the books.
Will say from what I've seen the menus are very unpolished and the character portraits are much harder to take seriously whenever the game zooms in on them for dialog.
>>
>>738597482
Yea, Brigador Killers is on audible. Same narrator and he does an even better job.
Like seriously he could yell for what it's worth.

Anyone else finding the controls awkward? Tank and mech are fine, but on foot feels bad whether with screen absolute on or off.

>Don't think I've got 10+ hours of gameplay out of any other demo before.
You clearly haven't even been alive in the 90s and early 00s.
>>
>>738600526
For me its the tanks.
>>
>>738600732
I don't remember a single demo from that time that took around 10 hours to complete.
Sure, you could replay the same one mission/stage over and over again if you felt like it, but what I meant was that I never got 10 hours of varied gameplay from any demo before.
But then again, obviously there were also regional differences on what demos people got.
>>
I found the movement rather sluggish and less responsive than in 1, but maybe that's intentional.
I don't like the current aiming UI; the simple colored rays were better.
I hope the portraits are just placeholders, they look like low res AI slop that was upscaled AFTERWARDS, but not with AI.
The driving kind of feels like the 2D GTAs.
Also, my Mongo was just some brown-greenish sphere lol.
>>
>>738601539
I remember spending around a RL month on the Desperados demo (mainly due to being a teenaged shitter, but still)
>>
>>738589603
I played through the entire campaign and was not sure if I like it or not, and then I played some more and suddenly it clicked. I am glad that I didn't disregard it as quickly as my first impulse indicated.
>>
>>738602527
The mog has to be a placeholder, but that is an awful lot of work to put on a placeholder.
>>738602919
Wasn't that a single mission?
I remember replaying it a couple of times but I don't think I ever spent more than a couple of hours in total playing it, it was pretty cool though.
Now that I started thinking about all of the demos I played back in the day, I did spend quite a while playing the BF1942 and Operation Flashpoint demos.
>>
>>738587704
I didn't notice it came out but i'm going to download it now
>>
>>738591867
That's how you know it's SCI FI!
No Mateba yet though
>>
>>738603287
>Wasn't that a single mission?
Yes, it was a special mission made for the demo.
I remember never making it beyond the saloon.
When I replayed Desperados in 2024, I also played the demo mission again and beat in like an hour, including reloading.
But there were many more demos, all the stuff on the Playstation magazines, RTS demos, and much more.
And if you only get a new game on birthdays and christmas, you have to make do. Zoomies and alphatoddlers can't even imagine.
>>
>>738591867
>though
>>
so far i am pretty bad at the game, i am assuming i need to collect some explosive weapons to handle the APC mission
>>
>>738589603
It's one of my favorite games of the 2010s, I have about 300 hours in it, and have completed the cold casket special and all campaign maps with all loadouts.
Maybe it's not for everyone, but it was a laser guided missile aimed straight at my heart.
>>738598716
I can believe that Mandalore likes it.
In fact I don't think I'm aware of a game he or sseth shilled that I didn't like. Some I didn't play, but there were zero I actively tried and disliked.
>>
>>738603685
You mean the last mission of the "campaign"?
Just get the Mongoose, hit them once with the thumper, and just bonesaw them to death, ez
>>
>>738603814
the more free form second part, with the garage, craft stations, etc
>>
>>738603889
Oh, I seem to have missed that
>>
>>738603685
If you're talking about the mission for the carmine rig with the patrolling APCs, if you can kite the one parked in the little center lot out of there I think the crate next to it always has some LAWs which will oneshot them. You can also find those rarely in the earlier salvage missions and on like the second and third floors of the sinkhole, which despite being marked as a much harder map is not bad at all for those first couple floors and totally manageable with the small caliber rifles and pistols.
>>
>>738587704
I don't know why but the effect of the guns halfway wakes up some old memory of ancient games. Something about it intrigues me. I think it was inspired by a very old arcade or nintendo game but I can't quite put my finger on it.
>>
>>738603889
>craft armed van
>search boxes until you find a proper gun for it (sml 1, aux 1, bal 1, etc)
>make short work of apc
no need for explosives
>>
>>738603952
basically you start with nothing and have to craft / packrat your way up to the good shit

>>738604019
i will look around more, i kept finding rockets in earlier missions but no launchers
>>
>>738587704

it's more like "kill jews for destroying your country"

>>
>>738587704
Why would you ever leave the van?
>>
>>738596776
git gud
>>
>>738604405
To show off some of the on-foot gameplay and because I wanted to test out the MG42.
I made it back to the van afterwards.
>>
>>738598436
the last brigador update was 5 years ago
>>
Is the merch worth it? That snc patch looks really enticing
>>
>>738587704
Is there a way to unload ammo from guns you loot?
>>738603685
I used .50cal sniper rifle that a guy from the electric car mission dropped. You'll need couple of magazines but after you cripple one you can hijack it and get the ball rolling. Used also that method to steal one and grind the mission until I could repair my own APC out of it.
>>
>>738587704
>Don't think I've got 10+ hours of gameplay out of any other demo before.
I know this is just being a product of the times, but damn this is kind of sad. I used to play some demos for weeks even though it was just an hour or two of the story or a few levels that you had access to. swat 4's demo even let you play MP across 3 or so levels.
>>
>>738608414
>Is there a way to unload ammo from guns you loot?
Equipping it and shift + left click on the ammo next to the gun itself inside your inventory maybe?
>>
>>738587704
Fuck yea. The garage mode is pretty rad.
>>
>>738604145
>eat the rich
That's a bit of a simplification.
It's closer to
>eat everyone worth eating and take their shit so you can eat more people
