Why did VR fail?
>>
>>738601996
its uncomfy as fuck to wear and you need willpower to get passed that. something that normies dont have.
>>
>>738601996
It didn't, corporate devs failed.

UEVR is the only true VR.
>>
>>738601996
it didn't, the only "downside" to vr is space and not enough devs making games for it but thankfully you can just buy an index

>>738602214
t. retard wearing facebook vr
>>
too expensive
nothing to play
>>
takes up too much space
216 wires or insane input lag
>>
>>738601996
No games.
>>
>>738601996
No games. UEVR are not VR games. They're just cope by vrtrannies.
>>
No house of the dead or time crisis
>>
>>738601996
The porn was better than the games
>>
>expensive
>need to learn new technical jargon just to choose which model to buy
>not many games
>the 3-5 games that exist are all linear, and you just walk and shoot boring enemies.... which gets boring VERY fast
>I previously said "walk", but the correct term is "teleport", as walking in VR causes motion sickness... which makes games less-challenging since you can just constantly spam teleport
>ZERO will to play standing up after coming back from work

VR is the tech equivalent of Fidget Spinner. I sincerely feel bad for the many victims it created (many of which are probably reading these very lines).

Fidget SpinnerS* fking auto-correct making me sound like a jeet
>>
>>738601996
Same reason people ride without seatbelts and helmets
>>
>>738601996
Because its expensive, feels like shit to wear and plays shitty inferior games gimmick
>>
there's already a thread retard
>>
Waiting for Steam Frame price reveal to buy my first headset, good idea?
>>
>>738601996
The only VR games good enough for people to bother even putting on VR glasses require a dedicated room for them, and there's simply not enough people willing or capable of doing that for the entire VR industry to make literally any sense
>>
>>738601996
the only game worth playing is half life alyx
>>
>>738601996
video gaming is about convenice. having to strap on a headset everytime will make people not wanna play vr games
>>
VR is like the bad dream where you're stuck trying to do something important and nothing works right and then you die
>>
Only good for VR JAV and racing sims

Shartphones made screens economical, but shartphones tanked everything else about VR.
HMDs are close to being flat-out better than having real 1080p screens, but as long as they're tethered to poodroid, they'll be just as crippled as awful goyware smart tvs.
Frame can not deliver us from shartphone hell fast enough.
>>
Ironically, Half Life Alyx convinced me that VR had no viable future.
>simply moving around was incredibly clunky and a huge step back from normal games
>you gotta stand the whole time and the headset makes you all sweaty
>I'm not actually an action hero in real life and VR quickly makes you aware of your own limitations.

I just want to sit at a desk and relax while I play video games. Funnily enough, I played Astro Bot VR after HL Alyx and found it to be a much more effective use of VR. You could play it sitting and you controlled your character in 3rd person with traditional controls, but the depth perception provided by VR really enhanced a platforming. Everyone wants that 1st person "Ready Player One" experience from VR, but I think 3rd person might actually be more interesting and viable.

Indubitably so.
