>warhammer 40k is about galactic space travelling empires>99% of games are about ground combatWhy?
>>738609640to sell toy soldiers
>>738609640>>warhammer 40k is about galactic space travelling empiresNo. It never has been. At best you're thinking of Battlefleet Gothic but you're a secondary faggot who just barely knows what that is due to it having a game on Steam, so you're thinking of nothing and are just retarded
>>738609640It's called WARHAMMER 40k not SPACESHIP 40k
>>738609640Just play battlefleet gothic if you prefer naval combat, but in space
>>738609640pretty sure there's at least 2 space 40k games
>>738609640Because it's based off the tabletop and that's what it's famous for, they eventually branched out in a specialist game called battlefleet gothic but it has been retired for many years now.
space combat is boring as fuck, ground combat is relatable and intense
The space travel is the worst part. Like literally the worst part of existence
>>738609640Because ships don't control land and the war is ultimately for land.
>>738609640Spess mehreens
>>738609640my autism is that I think most factions don't have naval forces either>they have ships in space and shitok then what the fuck happens on Ocean Worlds or any great body of water on any planet
>>738613920>my autism is that I think most factions don't have naval forces eitherliterally every faction has a canon fleet with models
>>738609928>/transgender/poster crying about secondaries>illiterate retard that thinks everything in Warhammer takes place on a single planetKEK, why are /tg/xisters so retarded
>>738614019where? like in HH? or in a side tabletop game?
>>738614517battlefleet gothic + battlefleet gothic armada supplement, then there's additional shit in white dwarf for rogue trader fleets, the tabletop game was discontinued years ago but they made some video games in recent times.
>>738615137yeah but what about ocean planets thoughlike there's a ocean and the objective is somewhere in there. where are the boats, subs, amphibious units and all that jazz
>>738609928wtf is a secondary?
>>738612095But to land on a planet you need to control the the space around the planet. Landing on a planet would be a major operation.
>>738609928>the story is about a human empire originating from earth occupying multiple worlds across the galaxy fighting aliens from different worldsthose are space traveling empires dumbass
40k space combat is bleh40k millennia and ships still fight like in the age of sail no matter which factionevery faction has an instakill super big bitch ship that can instagib every other ship and/or planet but they're almost never in combat40k doesn't focus too much on air to air, space to space fighter battles; it just happens naturally and some factions are better at it than others
>fleet can drop space marines down with pin point accuracy in pods>can't just bomb the enemy
>>738618317you forget one thing. It's to sell toys for a board game.
>>738609640The foundational event that 40k was originally focused on is "Eye of Terror blinked, go retake all the Imperium's lost planets". Ground combat against gross aliens and, soon after, Chaos mutants is the core thing. The modern presentation of the idea that the Imperium is collapsing isn't conducive to the setting at all. Sure it should lose priceless relics and dozens of planets all the time due to shit beyond it's control and random events, but next month they're supposed to be retaking those planets and discovering some new Archeotech that cements their power for the next 1000 years in a given sector.
>>738618671okay but what about space
>>738609928SPBP
>>738620672The Space Marines do indeed come from space before they kill you. Just like how our Naval Marines typically come out of the water before they kill you on land.
>>738611850BFGA2 is awesome, i loved this game
When is Dawn of War 4 coming? I am sick of waiting. It's the only game I am remotely interested in this year.
>>738612095Cringe
>>738609640Just play Battlefleet Gothic you secondary tranny
>>738617264The imperium does have boats but it's mostly in the background, usually the problem is that they ruin any ocean world they own through sheer pollution/industrialization so they usually don't have to deal with any ocean related problems Imperials have an abhuman race named Pelagers, they're a background note but they have gillsI'm pretty sure space marines are watertight and their vehicles also
>>738623242>Space Marines do indeed come from space Everything comes from space, literally everything is in space expect for warp/eldar shenanigans you fool, you absolute fucking moron
