I’ve got a second source now - allegedly someone who did localization QA for a vertical slice in late 2025.

The ocean itself is basically the equivalent of the “open world” from FromSoftware’s previous games, but the weather system actively changes enemy factions and island layouts. During “Black Tide” events, drowned corpses fuse into giant masses called Choirs.

Additional corroborated mechanics:
>You can harpoon certain field bosses and drag them behind your ship while they slowly mutate.
>The dodge roll has allegedly been replaced with a sidestep + grappling hook maneuver called the “Tide Reversal.”
