It's an $80 game in a niche genre in which games usually cost around $5 to $25. The story is incredibly vague and honestly not good, the characters are unappealing, and the game received little marketing. Then half the internet called it a jeet cuck simulator which made any actual discussion about the game nearly impossible. All those things considered, I'd say it did very well and personally I enjoyed it a lot.

I mean, I enjoyed it from a gameplay sense, but to deny it's just returnal 1.5 is a blatant lie. It also has the SAME EXACT problem returnal did, where they shoved in a really shitty story with annoying cutscenes. Thankfully this time you can skip them from the outset instead of having to go through them once, but the fact they're in there at all in what is otherwise a very smooth and fast paced shooter is crazy to me. It just completely takes me out of the game having to go through a "watch it M" moment.
