Does /v/ keep gaming journals?
yes, but not a physical one. i have a function in my powershell profile that puts a string into a txt file together with a timestamp. so when i wanna record my thoughts, i just open the terminal, call the function together with a string, and then it logs it to the txt file. that's how i add entries to my journal.

I have>one text file logging what games I played each year since 2023>one text file with maybe one paragraph of notes on a few games I played in the late 2010s>notes I've kept while going through some visual novels and RPGs
I use little memo books and they’ve been a life changer when it comes to focusing on the backlog
I when I first started FFXIV becuase I didn't want to wind up forgetting everything, I just logged it all in a wordpad or something I think it would be cool to go full RP with it (pictures, formatted first person story telling etc,) but mostly I just wanted something so that I could better follow the story
>>738619281No, I'm not a fag. Although I do keep notes for games that require them like old adventure games.
>>738619281I do have a small notebook for puzzles, passwords and stuff, though I only use when I need to write something down
>>738619281Based Xenosaga enjoyer
Since last year, I've been keeping a notepad file logging all the shit I've been playing.

>>738619281I don't have a journal, but I do have three different note taking methods>physical A5 grid paper book (for puzzles and drawing maps, last used for Blue Prince)>notes app on phone (current objectives for PC games, as well as any ideas I come up for other games while in bed or out of the house)>misc .txt file on desktop pc (current objectives for console games, as well as the overall task list for whatever main game I'm playing)

>>738619281>>738619667that's a pretty cool idea
I do. It’s fun and helps me remember shit to do in RPGs if I go a week without playing them.
When I know I'm gonna stop playing a game for a while I just type what I was doing or was about to do on the notes app on my phone
I have a text file for the Pieces of Heart and other stuff I collect in the Zelda game I'm playing and I keep notes on the games I've played. I have a whole website where I wrote stuff on like 130 games.
>>738619281I've been screenshoting the games i've been going through since last fall. Half life, quake 1 and 2, Unreal, Serious Sam.
>>738619667that's pretty neat. i just type stuff in manually and try not to add specific dates to non journal thoughts so i don't get depressed over how fast time moves.
>>738625931You’re based.
>>738619281I think it looks neat. If I knew how to draw I would definitely do it, like a full on sketch book. Someone did it with Terraria and it's cool. Not that different from recording replays, taking screenshots, etc. Which is what I already do.
>>738627951If you're going to "journal" like that you're basically making an autistic strategy guide/fan work if you write in useful information.
