There is nothing remotely fun about OSRS. It's worse than watching paint dry. RS3 has actual quality of life like lodestones, the toolbelt, the money pouch. It feels like you can actually DO things. OSRS is like yeah we are just going to make this a chore and you're going to secretly hate it but you're going to wear a social mask where you pretend it's fun. Oh and don't forget about the 100,000 bots. I would rather play a dead game like RS3 than play OSRS.

They basically invalidated the idea of the grind being put on a pedestal and being the core of the game, and frankly it's just so much better for it. There's still a big enough hurdle in leveling that you don't just get automatic access to everything, but they put a much greater focus on leveling being a way to unlock content and methods that are often a lot of fun to play in their own right and hooks in a much better ecosystem of how all those resources and skills are applied.It's just all about having fun instead, which is a stark contrast to OSRS, where they actively bitch and demand that fun content should be significantly slower for XP rates than the methods that are super tedious and boring. Not because it'd be any faster, or any less click intensive, since you'd still be grinding out the skill for days on end, but they legitimately think that content being fun enough that you'd actually want to do it also qualifies as EZscapeAnd best of all, it's not even like RS3 fully invalidated the grind. It's just not the center pillar of the entire experience. If you wanna be a grindlord, you can, it's just kept to being something that only matters when you super duper commit to it and are shooting for super big levels of XP
>>738627431The true red pill is that osrs is actually less grindy and has higher XP rates than 3 does for maxing out. Firemaking still sucks in 3, as does RC and agility. Minigames and quests are also 100x worse without runelite.The tradeoff is a very smooth, very dense game that's is a joy to actually play. I fucking hate the action bar combat, but action bar Skilling and bank presets are perfect. That's something osrs players cry for but jagex won't add it cause it's basically rs3. Not to mention that in the last few years quests and enemies have been lifted straight from 3 into old school like while guthix sleep, soon the vampire finale, and raxxi. I put a lot of time into both games but I just can't do all that bullshit clicking anymore. Rs3 was proclaimed dead back in 2017 when I was playing it the most. Yet I came back and my clan was not only still there but active. There aren't many new players anymore but the ones that stuck around are here to stay.
