This might be weird but I've had multiple dreams about this game and they both involved Verso. The first was some weird shit I can't remember where I had his haircut and white streak.
The other I was paralyzed against the mask keeper until I tore off his mask while the persona 5 victory screen played and it showed the security level go down to zero and it said SoB. I only beat this game 2 weeks ago and it's affected my subconcious that much, sign of a good character I guess.

I don't really think so. It honestly makes sense why they trust him. First, during act 2, they 100% need him and wouldn't stand a chance without him. They know he's lying but there's not much they can do.
Then, in act 3, he explains what happened and is genuinely sorry and wants to fix it. I personally don't think he was lying there. He only turns and tries tp destroy the canvas when Alicia goes crazy after fighting Renoir and plans to stay. Before that, he wanted to restore Lumiere. They also need him at this point too, so even if they don't 100% believe him, they still don't have much of a choice.

Actually, that starts in Act 1. Lune goes from being mission focused and wanting to ignore the possibility of rescuing Maelle, but then immediately flips and wants to take a detour to see Gestrals and fuck the mission. Gustave does the same thing, being all about the mission and those who come after, except when it is dramatic for him to completely disregard the mission and those who come after.

Now, you could argue that Lune is secretly signaling that she both hates Maelle and that she sense Maelle is the true villain of the story, and you could also argue that Gustave is as big a liar as Verso and his for those who come after was always a performative larp. But unless you are going to argue that, you just have to admit, the story actually isn't that well written all around when subjected to scrutiny, and relies heavily on blind emotional investment in the characters.

There is a significant trade-off and the game sort of contradicts itself here. Mechanically it's designed around players heading directly to the next objective in a straight line, the final dungeon is balanced that way and it will be a pushover if you explore a lot first. Narratively though, exploring a lot gives a lot more weight to the endgame and restores some of the ontological presence of the painting and its inhabitants once the rug has been pulled at the end of Act II, and helps you regain your framing of the world as a real place which real people inhabit despite its unusual origin. If that perspective shift never bothered you then you may as well just head straight for the finale and explore after, although it is recommended to at least complete the relationships first.

How long did the real Verso live? 30 or so years? The painted Verso (who is explained to 100% identical in both personality and looks to the real Verso, and Aline's greatest creation) has lived 3 times as long. Is his decision to destroy the canvas not even more justified considering it is a Verso who has lived even longer and still chose to destroy something he was painted with memories of creating?

What was her problem?

Painted Verso would be much more despicable if he didn’t have all the positive interactions with Esquie and Monoco. I think it was the mark of good writing and mo-cap acting to have Verso be both anti-hero and have a boyish hero aspect to real Verso’s creations.

Did several things really well, did several things pretty mediocre. Depending on what you like this will affect your enjoyment. The game balance is shit, way too easy to become overpowered. Some things get introduced and then barely used again, stuff like the gradiant counter should have just been left out but that's my personal preference. And you're forgetting that Clea is basically outright stated to be the strongest when they find painted Clea and Alicia says that only Clea is skilled enough to paint over someone elses creation.

It's not a masterpiece by any means, but it is still really fucking good.

If anything it's the other side of masterpiece - a masterpiece is one's most defining work, whilst something like E33 is a lightning in a bottle.
A bunch of really talented people brought some incredible ideas together into a cohesive whole, and since it's everyone's first real shot at it, they all bring their A-game. The result is something that's flawed in many ways but it doesn't matter. That's the kind of thing you get very rarely because even amongst talented people, it can often only happen once.
