I don’t think I’ve been more excited for a video game since or before this. It was expected to be a god level game which is why the internet got mad about Jeff Gerstmann’s 8.8 review. In retrospect he was generous.

Twilight Princess had hype on part with the FF7 Remake or Skyrim announcements because practically every normalfag who ever stood in the same room as a Nintendo 64 knew what Ocarina of Time was, and TP was regarded as a return to the OoT form. It was nuts, and Twilight Princess honestly got kind of a cool reception, particularly the Wii version, because it failed to really deliver on the astronomical hype.

Super huge. It was the Zelda people wanted. People were frothing at the mouth when it got an 8.8 on one site because it just had to be perfect.
2005 Twilight Princess was insane hype, especially because the Twilight Realm was this stylized black and white world, no Midna, and almost nothing known so there was a lot of speculation over what the story exactly was. There was some artwork with Zelda with a sword and that was intriguing for a time.

i started tp a few years ago and it didnt grab me. i didn't like the wolf sections at all and the character models were so horrific to look at. not sure how far i got but maybe 10hrs
