In M&B there have been moments where I've got everything going smoothly, I've got a fully upgraded team of elite units, great gear, tons of fiefs, then something comes along that completely wipes all my progress.Just recently this happened to me while I was playing the popular mod, Prophecy of Pendor. I had just finished climbing to the top of my Knighthood Order, upgrading and equipping all my companions, had a full team of the best units in the game, then I decided to attack the enemy stronghold. I ended up winning, but it was a pyrrhic victory because all of my companions ended up scattered to the winds, I lost all of my units and while I was focused on that, my faction was focused on losing every piece of territory it had. I ended up in a place where I had 0 units, so to add insult to injury, I traded a gold bar to a guy in a tavern for mercenary units and paid all of my remaining money relying on RNG. All of the units ended up being shit, basically worthless. I then had to go around every major city in the game to find my companions and start up my army from scratch again, now I have to go around and reclaim all the territory my faction lost.Another time, in the base game I joined the Kingdom of Vaegrs. It was quite an experience, I was offered vassalage when they were nearing extinction. After I joined, they lost their last city and their remaining castles, they had 0 territory. I then proceeded to take the 3 remaining lords and conquer castle after castle. Enemy lords started joining the faction and I built it up from nothing to owning half of the territory of the game world. At this point the King decided to go full retard and start exiling lords. We were on a path to victory, but at that point there simply weren't enough lords left to defend all the territory that we'd conquered.>Games to play when you feel like this?Stop playing games, take a break.
