A thousand years of real life Game of Thrones would make for a kino setting.
>>738658909What would the gameplay be like?
>>738659218Kenshi-like set during one of the civil wars. You would have cities owned by different claimants, Slavs, Turks, Arabs, and Venetians/Genoans.
>>738659218Kingdom Come but instead of Cumans being the main enemy who speak a foreign tongue you cant understand its Serbs, Albanians and Turks. Also the Serbs, Albanians and Turks will be infinitely more helpful and easier to communicatr with and trust then any greek you meet.
>>738658909We can't remind people that have been christian countries colonized by muslims, it goes against the narrative.
>>738660345>SerbsBulgarians would make more sense, they had way more wars against Constantinople while Serbia was a loyal despotate.
Do schools teach kids about it? The only mention of it in my high school textbook was a couple sentences about how the crusaders and Venetians sacked it like retards during the 4th Crusade even though they were Christians and dindu nuffin to deserve it. (They absolutely did.)It's a fascinating and complex subject with countless time periods and angles to approach it, but right now I wouldn't want any Western studio trying to make anything historical.
>>738660981In your disgusting western Anglo Saxon schools they don't, which makes sense since the history of the Byzantium eclipses their own and the guy in charge of your religious order is the leader of a pedophile ring unlike the Eastern part which is Orthodox.
>>738658909Americans don't know it exists, and they dictate culture, so never ever.Their national myth relies on a false narrative of a "Western Civilization" created by Greece and (toga) Rome, "inherited" by Western Europe then finalized in America, the Judeo-Christian Third Rome. The existence of Rome in the East makes this narrative uncomfortable so they don't bother.
>>738658909Because modern society, left or right, can't into the middle ages.
>>738662417Americans pretending they are the inheritors of some kind of Roman legacy is hillarious.
>>738662616It's part of the whole Jesus gimick.
Vidya in any pre-modern historical setting other then the Medieval Western Europe, Vikings, Feudal Japan, and now I guess these days ChinaPersonally I want more games set in Mesopotamia, Ancient or Medieval India, Mesoamerica or the Andes in the Prehispanic Americas
>>738658909It's a cool setting that gets mostly overshadowed by other events in the same timeframe combined with not really being taught unless you're a balkaner or turk. When people think Greeks or Rome they think of antiquity but not medieval. People also like the pop history stuff of that era like the Viking invasions or crusades despite how involved byzantium was. It would be a cool setting for the Alexiad era Byzantium of fighting the seljuks as well as the second crusade. For now you're stuck with playing paradox games, aoe, or bannerlord.
>>738662856>Vidya in any pre-modern historical setting other then the Medieval Western Europe, Vikings, Feudal Japan, and now I guess these days Chinashit, I forgot to include "is rare" in the middle of the lineThis is what I get for posting when I haven't slept in 2 days
>>738662417>>738662616>>738662694>let me tell you what America is like and how americans think>no, I'm not American and never lived there and I hate them, but I also feel personally hurt when they talk about MY country
>>738659218Murder, castration and blinding simulator.
>>738663824>and never lived thereI did, for 6 years. Americans are the most worldly uneducated people I've ever met.
>>738658909Playing as Byzantine lord in CK2 gave me the sort of anxiety i didn't have in any other faction, shit was scary, people getting arrested and blinded left and right, constant revolts, crazy religions factions, mad stuff, the arabs were the lesser concern.
>>738663972>he says that with a straight face when Russia and the entirety of the middle east existslmao post country
>>738663075It's one of the few eras and places in the world where you can justify a historically accurate hodgepodge setting>"imperial" settled people, pirates, Vikings, sand slavers, steppe horse archers, migrating mountain people, powerful organized religion, bankers, "western", tradersThere's a reason Mount & Blade used it
>>738664246The Spanish Empire in the 16th/17th century is also great for thisConquistadors, Pirates, Aztecs, Knights, African slaves, Filipinos, Incas, Native Americans, etc
>>738660981They tend to teach it in European schools. Except in British schools, where that period mostly focuses on more local history like Lord Crumplebottom's trailblazing 1210 reform allowing knights with anal prolapse to own land.
>>738658909How about a few good books on the subject instead?Any recommendations?
white supremacists/evropa fags sure do conveniently sweep under the rug that an entire european empire got btfo by islamic steppe raiders and completely muttifed the entire region that you can see today over 500 years later
>>738658909Elden Ring.
>>738664913GRRM's surface level sloppy paste job of moving Anatolia next to upside down Great Britain doesn't count.
>>738664876>IT WUZ DA XTIANZ DAT WEEKEND EVROPE IF WE WARSHIPED WOWTAN N ZUES WE WOOD BE IN SPESS NOW N SHIET
>>738664664>the heirs to the Crumplebottom family now serve as Dukes of Shartuponthameshire, hold a royal warrant to supply 13.9% of paperclips required by the Crown, are prolific donors to the BBC, served in the army to make coffee for one soldier that once flew near the Falklands, and are regular visitors of Little St. James A national treasure.
>>738664876and they were almost entirely expelled from Europe if not for UK and France helping the turks in the Crimea War
>>738660392aww someones upset the colonizer got colonized themselves
>>738664213I've lived in Russia for a year and Lebanon for half. The average person in both places knew significantly more about the world, history, and basic facts like why clouds exist. Americans are fascinating for being proud of how uneducated they are, because universities are for libtards apparently.>countryGreece
>>738664876And this why we should ask for both reparaxuns and send the colonizers back to Arabia/Central Asia. Will you help us comrade?

>>738658909the only thing I could think off is total war attila and its modssince were getting a total war medieval 3 then im hoping there would be a late medieval campaign where you defend constantinople against the ottoman horde but thats hopium since total war is a total garbage dog shit today
>>738665641do you know that when Greece got independence most of it's population were greek orthodox albanians?t. fellow piig
>>738665426see, because of this is why i dont give a flying fuck about "palestinians"
>>738665903Never said any of that, or give a shit for modern politics. I have just travelled a lot, and Americans are by far the most ignorant first world people. The smartest people are Dutch.
>>738665426>>738666010Whenever you think wokes aren't pathetic people who just hate whites out of spite, don't worry they'll readily prove you wrong and act like they did something smart. They don't understand the troll act doesn't work when you claim to be for rights and empathy.
>>738666303>The smartest people are Dutch
So, videogames.How's the EU5 DLC?
>>738664213Go to a Russian metro, in addition to the dumb kids stuck to their phones it has people who read books on the train.Go to a US metro in addition to everyone being a retard that's stuck on the phone there's also a bunch of browns chimping out.

>>738662417>Americans don't know it exists, and they dictate culture, so never ever.Americans are a part of the Anglosphere, and the Anglosphere in general likes to pretend it doesn't exist since it destroys the "muh christendom" myth, and because up until the 11th century they were superior to any kingdom/empire of the west.
>>738666715>diseases are way deadlier and immunity vanishes in twenty years >but population doesn't bounce back like it did historically even if you invest in plentiful food and land>investing in hospitals does nothing>no peasants, no trade is profitable, no building is profitable, world turns post apocalyptic >except the player can still snowball his economy against the AI and the game is a cakewalk>doubling down on the "core= majority accepted culture" system even though it doesn't work>nerf conversion again, can't dedicate more than 2 cabinet members to it at a time, nerf subjects again>they made cores vanish if you lose cultural majority, which means some events and missions will give you cores, which you instantly lose 1 tick later certified paradox moment
Took me a good second to realize that's the Viltrumites
Bannerlord nigga
>>738664876This only happen after empire was exhausted after destructive war with Persia It still took hundred years for empire to be finished. And they still had periods of stability and prosperity. Meanwhile Mongols raided arab empire so hard during muslim golden age so hard that age ended and they never had anything like that. And was not only time when muslims were bullied by turkish or mongol raiders
>>738665393Worst mistake in British history
