>This game needs a remake!>I love this game, I hope it gets remade!>This game DESERVES a remake, who's with me?>I would play the shit out of this game if it got a remake!
I don't understand, why wouldn't you want a remake. Just stick to your original if that makes you happy, weirdo.
>>738661883>why wouldn't you want a remakeBecause 99% of them are objective downgrades, with cut content, censorship, butchered art and audio, and even completely changed gameplay - to the point of not even belonging in the same genre.Every single one of the recent RE2-4, FF7, SH2, AitD, Zelda: OoT and MM ... etc de-makes has been an insulting clusterfuck, with all the "what if game X was made in current year??" memes + Woke slop + UE5 cancers on top.The triple-A industry especially never EVER remakes BAD games. They just want to milk out big mega classics using nostalgia and brand recognition as the easy bait.>Just stick to your original if that makes you happyThat's just the thing:in most cases, you CANNOT legally choose the original no more.Silent Hill 1-3 are literally abandonware, as they are stuck on consoles from 20+ years ago.Resident Evil 1-3 had the same issue, and Crapcom was adamant about burying them for good, until GOG.com came and requested a right to fix and re-release them.SEGA is speedrunning Yakuza and Persona de-makes, since they can just copy someone else's homework + simply CUT OUT stuff as instructed by their Westoid "localization consultants", that hijacked the Japanese gaming industry after SNOY moved into Commiefornia a decade ago. Many, many zoom zooms and even GenA kids have expressed their joy and appreciation to countless oldschool classics ONCE they've gained access to them, many of them never even knowing how gaming used to be pre-iPhone era. However, to these newcomers, asking them to either look into piracy, or to invest 200 bucks on a CRT television + another 200+ on a 2nd hand retro console and a copy of the games they fancy, most branding a scalper price tag these days, is unreasonable as fuck.
i aint reading that
>>738662712>most of them aren't goodWhatever, that's your opinion, and you still have the original so go play that then, weirdo. Claiming you can't access the original is pure filthy cope. There's literally nothing good about games NOT getting remakes.
>>738662864>Whatever, that's your opinion,It's not only "my" opinion, and it's an objective fact. The fact that FF7 demake part 2 flopped so hard is one easy proof of this:even the nufags were pissed out after learning that they not only did NOT get a full game with the part 1, but that it's all some bizarre timey-wimey fanfic SEQUEL to the 1997 game and its many spinoffs, not the same story. This then saw a huge spike in the OG FF7's sales on many platforms, with countless big name streamers suddenly playing the PS1 original right after.>There's literally nothing good about games NOT getting remakes. There is:Everything I just listed + erasure of the originals from the store fronts, search engines, and people's shared recollection.Try searching for "DOOM" now, and you are first hit by D2016 shit instead.Try looking for "RE2", and you only get stuff from the 2019 demake instead. All this, because the Westoid publishers WANT to exploit the search engine algorithms' weaknesses, and thus guide masses to waste money on the expensive, disposable modern slop.>Claiming you can't access the original is pure filthy copeShow me how to access Silent Hill 1-3 OGs on a stock standard Playstation 5 or Nintendo Switch 2. I wait.
>>738659582Yeah the entire dragon quest fandom is silly weeaboo weirdos
>>738662864There are massive opportunity and creativity costs with using huge dev teams to recreate games that have already been made, especially now that games can go decades without getting sequels because of ballooning development times. Something like Star Fox is a good example, a series so hyperfocused on remaking the SNES game over and over that its gone over 20+ years without a true sequel.
>>738659582>Played P3P as my first foray into persona back in 2012>Recently tried to play again and dropped it 3 hours in because visuals where meh>Remember loving P4 on PS2 and beat it in 2 weeks>Got a mint condition vita this year and dropped P4G 4 hours in>get Switch 2 and find out P3 remake is on it>Enjoy the game with updated visuals and dump 100 hours into itSometimes a new coat of paint really does help
>>738663223Starfox will be a day 1 for me.
>>738663412Sounds familiar, I was playing some P3P back in 2024, and now I am playing P3R in 2026. Rock solid.
>>738663170>buy new console>wtf I want to play old gamethis is like Patrick start with the wood plank nailed into his head, walking into a doorway over and over
>>738661883>I don't understand, why wouldn't you want a remakeBecause I'm not a retard.>weirdoFound the retard.
>>738663412>>Enjoy the game with updated visualsanon P3P has always been considered ass because it's a psp port with so many hardware limitations that it turned into a VN.The actual game was for the ps2 and P4 was basically just an asset swap palette of it graphics wise so it makes no sense for you to like P4 but not P3 because of the graphics
>>738663412P3P was shit day 1.It is a literal downgrade from the P3:FES.But not as big fuck-up as the P3 REtarded, that is woke shit + Unreal slop.>>738664210The fact that modern consoles no longer have backwards compatibility, and devs are unwilling to put easy to play old classics on them like they used to, is exactly part of the problem. In general, the consoles even existing in 2026 is troublesome.
>>738661883>why wouldn't you want a remake. Most people here are poor and / or third worlders. They haven’t upgraded their computers in well over a decade so they can’t run new games.
>>738661883why don't YOU want to play the original?
>>738664621You're just creating problems for yourself. Nobody intelligent buys a new console and thanks "oh boy time to play the exact same games I'm already playing on my brand new console" You fucking retards must live in some alternate reality, detached from real life.
The fact that "gamers" actually defend demake slop really proves gaming is on the absolute bottom in terms of media. Imagine actually saying that there should be a "remake" of some beloved movie or book for modern audiences, you'd get eaten alive. But gamers just consoom.>>738663412What "new coat of paint"? You mean completely missing the point of the game and editing it to look like 4/5 when it was NOT supposed to he colorful and bright? Retard.
>>738664705My PC can emulate any game at 4k, Rajesh.
>>738659582I don't really want remakes, just port it to a newer console for me and give it some quality of life updatesThat's all I wanted for the battlefront II remaster and instead it was straight ASS
>>738663170>Try searching for "DOOM" now, and you are first hit by D2016 shit instead.Nigger you cannot possibly think old ass unc doom is a better game than the one from 2016. It was cool 30 years ago, but it really hasn’t aged well and doesn’t hold up.
>>738664210>>738664882>console retard hates backward compability because he must consoom new shiny productConsole casuals were always cancer to gaming. This never changed.
>>738664979Sure, this must be why old doom still gets love while nobody remembers that there was a doom game released in 2016 anymore.
>>738661883>why wouldn't you want a remakethey always change shit that didn't need changing. For example Nier remake completely killed the music for whatever reason, when the music was one of the reason the game was known in the first place.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NwYIkPiCushttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iL0sJY3ti0whttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyxjxEOApIEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebbHTtQhCUM
I'm in a weird middle ground with remakes. I never think they are needed or necessary, but I can enjoy them. Like with Resident Evil series, I still enjoy playing the originals and the remakes for the games. One doesn't replace the other. It adds more spice to my replays. It's just like people enjoying playing a heavily modded version of their favorite games. I can still prefer the authenticity of the original, and still enjoy playing through the remake just for a new experience and mode of play with it.Some remakes are good and some are terrible. A terrible remake doesn't impact me at all. I just go play the original and disregard the remake. In fact, remakes to me are a good way to gate keep retards out of the originals.
>>738664882>You fucking retards must live in some alternate reality, detached from real life.welcome to /v/
>>738664743Because it's old and outdated. If I wanted to play it I would have. If I have played it then I would prefer to play something new and modern. A remake is the opportunity to make a new game out of the one most people would never ever touch now.
>>738659582Fact: 99% of Souls fans will claim they are working through From's pre-Demon's catalog of HIDDEN GEMS when in reality they're just absorbing infodumps and AI summaries, then hopping online to claim they've conquered those games.
>>738664882>You're just creating problems for yourself.Incorrect.It's the industry creating these problems, only to SELL you their "solutions", that result countless old masterpieces turning into unobtainium "forgotten classics". Scalper-fags then exploit this vacuum and try to sell you those OG games for up to THOUSANDS of bucks.>"oh boy time to play the exact same games I'm already playing on my brand new console"Did you get a stroke, or did your AI prompt fail?>>738664979>Nigger you cannot possibly think old ass unc doom is a better game than the one from 2016.I don't "think". I KNOW.Doom 1993 is still being played, praised and modded to this day, while 2016 was insulting piece of shit day-1, and understandably all DEAD today, as it has none of the modding capabilities nor the online features of the 35yo original. The Zenimax shillfags still seethe about it to this day.
>>738665115Yeah so true man. We should burn all of Shakespeare's books and "remake" them into Netflix originals with trannies and niggers.
>>738664979You know Doom doesn't hold up when people mod it into anything else but.
>>738665041Nier is a shitty game to begin with. You don't see these "issues" with good games.
>>738665089>I still enjoy playing the originals and the remakes for the games. One doesn't replace the other.this says more about you than the games themselves because why the fuck would anyone under 30 play pic related
>>738665089I think people get hung up on them, but the real joy is what some streamers I've seen experience. They marathon the entire franchise, including the originals, including the remakes, they just play all of them. Resident Evil
>>738665268People who like survival horror, not console shooters.
>>738665175>We should burn all of Shakespeare's booksW H O O S H'tards I swear, too many of ya
>>738664903>Imagine actually saying that there should be a "remake" of some beloved movie or book for modern audiences, you'd get eaten alive.Books don’t age at all, there are stories created thousands of years ago that are as relevant today as then. Movies do age, but not as poorly as videogames. New technology makes older gamers for the most part completely irrelevant. Everything just gets objectively better, from graphics to gameplay.
>>738665297>but the real joy is what some streamers I've seen experienceThat's it. Reddit. Now. All of you. You don't belong here. This is not your home. Leave before you see something unpleasant.
>>738665268I enjoy the detailed backdrops, interesting camera angles, and puzzle mechanics of the older games. The new games and remakes are more action oriented. I enjoy both. Simple as.
>>738665362>I don't llike games at all!Yaaawn. Also your argument could as well be turned around into saying all old books must be replaced with YA novel "remakes" and all old movies should be "remade" for Netflix/Amazon audiences.
>>738659582Those comments are generally made by someone who just watched a gameplay video of an old game, and found 1 thing they like about it but they never plan to play it. In their simple mind, a "remake" means take everything good from the original but replace everything else with perfect new additions. Apparently they've never played a game and its remake or watched a movie and its remake. I remember a very comical time when the most highly anticipated PS4 games were Resident Evil 2 and Final Fantasy 7. Zoom zooms treat a remake as a brand new game and will buy it or not if it seems like the best game to get at the time.
>>738661883back in my day companies used to make new things
>>738665470I do like videogames, which is why I don’t just play the same ones for 30 years. The point was you can’t make a book better than it already is. But an old game can be improved with better graphics and gameplay, among other things.
That’s me when I talk about Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon
>>738665268>why the fuck would anyone under 30 play pic related...because they're fun, engaging, atmospheric, gorgeous and near-endlessly replayable masterpieces, that also provide vastly different sort of gaming experiences from the modern, generic AAA slop?
>>738663412If you need pretty graphix in order to enjoy a game you're a fucking faggot and need to choose a different hobby. Your presence here is a net negative.
>>738659582I agree, just make new game, are they scared of making new game? are YOU scared of playing new game?
>>738666157Gorgeous? Come on, it looks like fucking shit, contrarian faggot.
