I made this thread to declare that I beat my second run of Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga. Hardest difficulty, this time with the DLC.
>Lysander still best boy
>I underestimated cannons first time, big mistake: these things destroy
>Swordmaster girls the cutest, and I want to engage with General Ragavi
>wish Samurai didn't suck so much
>Narima was stuck in somewhat awful hybrid-squads, again
>the crossbows are meh
>Slayer Alphonse and Guy Verre Kanon were my Mercenary MVPs
>the DLC missions were pretty cool and you get some great items out of them, but they made the game drag on. Never did any of the Platinum Arenas, my squads were already powerful enough to beat the final mission

The Sayunaari are proud and sexy desert people.
I wish she was a better leader, but I guess she is meant to be used as an aggressive assassin unit

Both of these women look like they were made for sexual enslavement after being defeated on the battlefield.

Bump for interest.

I haven't done a run on the max difficulty, but Narima was one of my MVPs when I did a Warlord playthrough. Light Cavalry movement makes her extremely useful, and she serves a niche of being able to murder squishy units that are otherwise protected.

>Lysander still best boy.
He's a traitor, he deserved to be executed, fuck the devs for not having it as an option.

You don't have a say in this small man.

Yeah, but he does have a sick airship and fucks priestesses.

The problem was my own autism more than anything else. She's certainly a powerful unit individually. Use "focus on leader" and she nothing personals behind him and whatever he is, it's dead.
But I always feel like it's a waste if she never uses her bow, and therefore put her in a Samurai frontline unit, also some Rangers. However, Samurai are just so squishy for a heavy infantry unit, and their supposed dodge chance is not great enough to justify that being a thing. I buffed the squad's dodge chance via artifacts and they still died to light infantry attacks.

Cool anon. I've been sleeping on this game, I know it's good.

Sprites with transparent edges are dog doo.

Even if it's just the protraits. Dog doo.

It's not a big deal and this isn't a very interesting thing to make a post about it, please try better with your next post.

could you phrase that in simpler terms for a simpleton like me?
or post an example?

Look. Her hair pixels are fading away and blending with the color of the snow.
The mountains are doing the same thing.

Those are transparent edges.
Also known as anti-aliasing.
That's crap. It's a poor conversion of art to sprite art.
And little consideration was given to the medium they're working in.
They just sorta rushed this bit.

If you're gonna do this, why even have art at this resolution at all?

I recall the hardest difficulty being brutal. No way I could do it with permadeath. I had units getting one shotted most missions.
>>
I have this on Gog, how is it really? I liked unicorn overlord but that's basically the only one of that type of game I've ever played

i was gonna tell you to buy an ad but the game looks pretty good actually, especially for something made in RPG Maker, so go ahead and keep shilling your stuff i wont complain
>>
>>738671663
I'd say it's "OK"
It's one of those RPGs where the earlygame is an imbalanced hell, but sometime around midgame your units start to become unstoppable because the enemies can't keep up with the amount of bullshit you're able to do.
The story is utter nonsense and the writing varies in quality wildly, so if you're looking for a good narrative this game is not worth your time, but the gameplay is pretty solid and you can skip all the cutscenes. It's also not that long of a game, about 20-25 hours per playthrough at default animation speeds.
>>
>>738671663
Yeah, it's great fun. Lots of shit to tinker around, cool mercenaries to build your squads around.
Story starts political and goes more fantastic, which is standard fare for this genre. With some cool moments, so no idea what "utter nonsense" the anon could be talking about.
Quality of the writing of the dialog scenes can vary, though.

i heard these guys make 99% of all sprites and pixel arts that other devs use, is it true?
also, they have been working on the sequel for years without a single peep... canceled for sure
