What would your dream MMO look like?
Probably look like WoW
>>738664607monsters and memories but with faction and morality based pvp
>>738664607Yee haw cowboy FPS with netcode that's able to handle a shooter. Sadly that's both technically impossible, and if they made it today they'd make it lame, and gay.
>>738664607Mostly like Guild Wars 2 but with meta-events that actually require 2 brain cells from participants, more rewards like mount skins from them and raids etc. Better balance for skills and builds so that utility skills etc can actually be utility skills not just a 2nd or 3rd priority DPS button in your gay little MMO "rotation". Slightly slower combat and better visual culling etc so that it's actually possible to see what the fuck is going on and react to things in events. Boons being temporary buffs you want to time well instead of permanent stat upgrades.
Star Wars set in the old EU post Yuuzhan Vong War or Old Republic Era and using the Star Citizen concept/engine, but actually functional and playable.
>>738665241Triple Trouble and whatever the last Dragon event was called required you to have a functional brain.
WoW Vanilla but with balanced classes and good combat
My dream MMO is like Space Station 13 levels of dynamic intertwining systems that lead to natural storytelling, but within a fully 3D FPS or TPS set in the Stargate SG-1 universe. A little bit of SCP Secret Labs, but you're going in and out of the Stargate HQ, encountering all sorts of shit that needs solving, sometimes with the coordination of everyone at HQ.
>>738664607WoW, but with my vision.
WoW but parsefags all drop dead immediately and you can have a fun dungeon experience again
>>738665465Dragon's End is just a little too long for me to want to do often but yeah that one's decent. The meta-event finale for Secrets of the Obscure also requires people to actually press buttons and fails very often. It's cool thematically in my opinion (sieging a demon castle in a demon realm) but the final fight is very boring. It genuinely feels good when you work together with a group of 50+ strangers and overcome something that has a decent likelihood of failure.
Probably some small friendslop game expanded way outside its original scope. Mmo's are mostly appealing to me for the scale not so much the social interaction. So seeing the world of splatoon fleshed out and interactive would be sick. On the other hand there is ragnarok online. An mmo i keep coming back to just because of how it looks.
>>738664607like classic wow but with a max of 20 man for raids, no raid buffs, more quests, better dungeon loot and a large system of trains and boats to help travel around the world faster for long distances.
>>738664607Guldan get ipad
>>738664607FFXI with the gameplay of WoW

>>738664607>sandpark/sandbox>open-world focus, minimal instancing>pve and pvp both incentivised>fast and fluid action combat>high budget of course
>>738665681>WoW but no one is allowed to call me out for being useless deadweightFTFY
dragon and evolution based, developed by a gamer girl
>>738664607It'd probably be a vr game where everyone is a futa anime girl with an aggressively ruthless free market economy
>>738664607 Monsters and Memories is getting pretty close. Well that is if we're talking realistic dreams at least. If we're going wild, then it would be the sci-fi idea of full immersion VR.
>>738666672isn't that just vrchat?
>>738664607Singleplayer+FFXIV Raids with AI+Swords of Legends Online aesthetic+Crimson Desert Open World
Lineage 3, stanceless, open world PVP, clan wars, hot dark elves
>>738665681who the hell cares about parsing in dungeons
>>738664607where you can afford housing, a wife & children with a single job
Probably like Swallowed Star.
>>738664607It would be a single player game...that you occasionally link to other players via an online server. The setting would probably some kind of space games where you are well-armed-civilians helping defend the galaxy against waves of robot & bio-robots.You play missions to unlock area, closer and closer to the enemy homeworld. The MMO aspect would be to simulate gigantic fleet battle, 80% NPC, where the players are the scale tipper. The enemy would actually get stronger and stronger the more players are around. As the players reach the latest missions, Your "SP-home" area can also be attacked by the aliens depending on your progress, it will be defended by whatever players arrive there first (they gain money), so you will also be defending others home.Since the space battles would involve a lot of resupply, you'd have reason to make your SP-home look really cool and comfy. You'd have a PvP option, in that if you shoot at other players to steal their stuff you are recognized as a target for everyone until you pay a fine.If you keep doing so a copy of your "SP-home" become a mission for anyone you attacked, which they can attack with friends. If they succeed at destroying and pillaging it, next time you reconnect, you have to fight a NPC-copy of whoever thought revenge (alone) to be allowed to rejoin the online-game with this save. You can also summon friends for help any who are not criminals have the option to attack you for the bounty on your head, because pirates don't deserve hand-holding..If you survive, that's reset and you won't be attacked again until you kill someone else.>TL;DR>Space battle but avoiding Eve Online meta bullshit taking over good gameplay
>>738664607classic maplestory without p2wunwoke retail wowtree of savior that was more like rag onlinemodern ultima online
>>738664607World of Warcraft but Battletech. You can do on foot, in mech and space stuff. That would be pretty cool 20 years ago but mmos lost their appeal with how the communication landscape evolved.
>>738664607offline with bots
>>738668145>It would be a single player gamebased beyond belief
I used to think that answer would be "non-target combat with cute female outfits and cool male ones" but then I realised that main problem with MMOs I see are data miners and minmaxers. Games simply lose all charm and fun when everyone "solve" everything before new content even rolls in and minmax tryhards expects and enforce everyone else to follow their meta builds.First few weeks of GW2 were the best precisely because they were mostly about running around, encounter other players, form spontaneous parties, explore the game and simply have fun. Meanwhile tryhards rushed to max level and complained they have nothing to do.
>>738669034That could be somewhat solved by encrypting the game files, and only sending the decryption key to the client once certain triggers fire offBut of course, once someone gets access to those files, they could share it with anyone, which is how it used to be
>>738664607WoW but i can use the word "nigger"

>>738664607To be 14 again and have the time to play an MMO, for a start.

>>738664607Guild Wars 2 with more monstrous races and PSO2 (pre-Episode-4)'s gameplay.
>>738664607>visuallyMonster Hunter World>mechanicallyMonster Hunter GU but large monsters are more dangerous, packs of smaller monsters are more dangerous, and it isn't a boss rush spam. Monsters get stronger if they kill players or other monsters, which can snow ball or attract "Apex" monsters. Players getting too strong can also attract Apex monsters. Includes PvP or whatever. Players can place bounties on monsters or other players. I'm rattling all of this off without thinking too deeply so it might be shit.>world designdon't have anything specific in mind. maybe a mix of WoW and MHWorld.
forced lockdowns for a bullshit disease and a fresh classic, like we had in 2020
>>738664607none because MMOs are as manipulative and soulless as casino games. No matter how you pay for it, they will design it to be as addictive and stressful as possible. It's a shame because many of them had great artists and wordbuilding and even some interesting gameplay decisions
Tibia, but alive and with barely any ESLs or third-worlders.
>>738668145The meta bullshit of EVE was the most fun part of it to me. The only thing I hated was that websites could just brigade hundreds of users and take over entire regions. SA and Reddit were the biggest offenders. Its just so lame that it beats out alliances that formed organically within the game.
design philosophy of classic WoW but with an anime aesthetic and also half the budget is dedicated to funding a real life team of terrorists who kill people who run bot farms in real life
>>738674575>bot farmsThis is usually a sign of flawed game design
>>738664607Start with something like a PvE version of GvG/RvR content. You have players on one side.On the other side is an overarching threat that's mostly run by scripts. It has a hidden goal and decides which zones it is going to assault based on available resources and smaller objectives (it may want to take over a mine, or it may lay siege to a city to bottle up player forces). Enemy forces mostly start out either with already overwhelming strength/numbers and players need time to develop themselves and resources to counter the threat, or the threat is more subtle and spends a lot of time consolidating itself without players necessarily even knowing who the threat or what its objective is.It all culminates, win or lose, in a POE-like seasonal reset, where devs have an opportunity to make radical shifts in meta balance and add new content (new scripts, new objectives, new threats). The enemy objective in each season can vary, an tribal orc threat may simply be interested in conquering everything, a dark wizard might be more interested in turtling to funnel magic resources toward a ritual to end the world. The major goals of the player faction would change each season too, they may simply need to kill the warlord or they may need to prepare the final capital for a last stand defense.Major events like the enemy assaulting a player-held POI would generally only occur once, but there would be a currency-rewarding system for catch-up players where they can replay previous events as a smaller scale instance, disguised as doing research on the threat.Layered on this is the BDO economy/lifeskill system. Players wouldn't really have craft skills directly but instead manage trade empires to funnel and refine resources to aid the war effort. If I had any skills at all I would try a proof of concept on as a single player game, using something like TOME4, instead of starting out of the gate with a fullblown billion dollar MMO, but it doesn't matter anyway.
>>738674907Any game of sufficient popularity where you kill enemies to earn currency will be filled with bots. The only flaw is the choice in countermeasures. The biggest botting groups are literal criminals who will not hesitate to order hits on people they think are disrupting their operations. They should be killed.
>>738664607That picture looks like 1 man 1 jar but without the jar.
Toram online, it's pure soul
Tera but cel shaded. open world PVP, faction politics and territory claims, Elin only
>>738664607>visuallySomething like gravity rush or monster hunter stories 3>mechanicallyIve always thought an MMO built around an NPC bond system would be interesting both from a gameplay and narrative perspective.>every character has to build a relationship tree>relationship trees vary drastically based on what you choose to prioritize in terms of skills, alignment, etc.>some relationships will give you quests, zones, skills, and goods that others won't, which incentivizes trading between players to get something you cant access>some relationships can have a subtle impact on the main story
>>738664607Fantasy 3rd person game with a combat system similar to Star Wars Jedi Outcast, but with regular fantasy weapons and magic, the skill system from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance / Radiant Dawn (including the split between personal and professional skills), and a mostly linear power scale.Art style would be similar to Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
>>738664607Just give me Vanilla WoW with more content, more classes, more lands to visit, more quests, more races, more leveling dungeons, LESS focus on endgame and more focus on the journey.

>>738664607it would be just like any of them right now, except if you're a poopsock metaslave or a dadgamer complainer with 15 jobs and 30 kids your computer explodes killing you instantly
MMO set in a world where the world keeps changing radically, like you need to go to some castle or something and one week it's just a normal path but the next week there's a giant canyon separating the road and the castle so you would need to find another way to get there, stuff like that. It would make the world feel fresh
>>738664607I thought about it a lot over the years and I've realized that I want to go MORE dress up skinner box theme park instead of less.I want a game filled with roleplaying tools. Emotes, costumes, customization, random ass locations that don't serve any functional purpose except being little screen shot corners.I want tab targeting with easy gameplay made accessible so that people are always showing up. Linear quest lines that tell a story. Instanced dungeons but with end game scaled versions on all of them, weekly leader boards, and modifiers that change regularly.I want a large amount of events even if they're low effort that people gather around to participate in. The game should constantly have something going on.If there's a modern convenience I want them to get rid of it's travel conveniences. Instead of teleporting or flying everywhere I want the game to be filled with travel locations. Airships, boats, trains, giant giraffes or whatever. Shit that funnels players into points of traffic that makes them interact.MMOs shouldn't compete on gameplay. They need to optimize themselves around maximum community engagement.
>>738664607All gameplay is solo, gated by craftingEconomy is designed around heavy player dependencies
>>738664607it would be a 90% sandbox and 10% themepark with story that unfolding that (single)players dont really affect and arent the LE HERO SAVIOR OF THE WORLDit would have factions that fight for actual territories in the open world, PVP wouldnt be optional BUT you would have non-PVP zonesso essentially you can play and level without ever engaging with PVP but leveling would be slower and the rewards would be worse in non-pvp zones(high risk-high reward)all dungeons would have scaling so you can play them at any level, but you scale them using in game crafted items, kinda like keys for mythic dungeons, so based on that item's power it would affect the difficulty and the loot from the dungeon/raid.gearing wouldnt be retarded like in most mmorpgs with tier sets and level requirements and also drops would focus more on materials rather than unique items, like there would be unique items but the primary source of gear would be crafting and the loot from dungeons/raids would primarily be materials. Harder dungeons give better, rarer materials which allow you to craft better gear.mounts would have to be tamed and have tiers, higher tier mounts are faster.Legendary Mounts, one per server type a thing, would be acquired from boss battles, you can lose the mount on death or if you are inactive.monetization wise, probably buy to play with cosmetics BUT cosmetics for pets, housing and shit like that, no armors or weapons or any flashy retarded shit like in current WoW or GW2i have this game fully fleshed out on paper just dont have the skill or money to make it

>>738682724The MMO-lite gacha games do all that. Little corners, lots of dressup, solo content questlines, infinite grind dungeons with leaderboards, events out the whazoo (they're all FOMO of course). The only thing missing maybe is the instanced dungeons that scale into endgame raids and they still rely on pure interface-driven instant travel.

Monsters in the world have goals and react to the world.Example: Goblins want gold, they seek out gold, attacking merchants, getting stronger and more numerous, eventually attacking cities for more gold. If players keep the goblin numbers down, another faction can fill the niche. World is reactive. Events are dynamic and emergent and make sense. Every single building and city is made by the players. Most items are crafted by players. Players farm for materials to get better gear crafted by a player. A dev controlled faction where the devs can dynamically move enemies around like an RTS. They move in real time and can be intercepted by players, creating more structured events.
>>738687124The official forum has an entire section dedicated to buying/selling accounts and is 100% sanctioned by the developers. There is nothing in the game you can't pay real money for in EO. The only argument anyone could feasibly make to separate it from other P2W games is the fact that all of those things are player made. You don't just swipe for a ship that gets added to your account from nowhere. Someone has to build that ship. Someone had to gather the materials to build that ship. Someone had to transport all of that to market.
>>738679107>>738683726kek I'm glad I'm not the only one
>>738669034This is easily solved by playing with fellow casuals and letting the poopsockers rush to endgame alone where they can rot. The problem is the devs always listen to the poopsockers and start catering the entire game to them alone.
>>738664607ragnarok online prerenewal but with>more in-depth classes (some classes only have 1 skill thats actually good and its boring)>randomly generated dungeons that also spawn at random (these would have unique rewards compared to a generic dungeon like rachel, abbey, ice, etc) and in these dungeons enemies would not respawn>dungeons have mvp variants of enemies that spawn in them and have boosted droprates for certain rare items>the random dungeons would have little to no spawnrate for the mvp-tier enemies but would always be guaranteed to contain a mvp>mvps have higher card drop rates, and could drop cards from random enemies that spawn in the zone>pvp is more prevalent, some classes should also be made viable in pvp>an alternative tower defense gamemode, where you defend an objective from waves of enemies with your party
You can't have a true sandbox MMO without PvP. It does not work.

I really like GTAG's style of movement and social interaction, so just that but BIGGER.
an MMORPG roguelite. it's been dipped into many times by warframe, world of warcraft, ff14, runescape, etc. but I want a game that's basically a persistent overworld(most of the social content, crafting, gathering, trading, non-combat stuff would take place here) where a lot of the "action" content comes from some kind of infinite endless dungeon or dungeon-like dimension with roguelite-style content mashed together, not too different from something like WoW aside from dungeons having different layouts, themes, bosses, rewards, etc. every time and you don't know what it is until you get there, with a ton of room for customizing your guy between dungeons and a lot of freedom to re-customize it based on your learned experiences. so if you're something like a fire lover and you play as a fire wizard, you'd better have something up your sleeve incase the enemies happen to be resistant to fire so maybe you can pivot to also be a mezzer or offhealer or somethingbasically just an RPG with a ton of options and a reason to actually explore diversifying your build and a system that feels rewarding to people who make good well-rounded builds instead of just dpsmaxxing or whatever
Webfishing: the medieval fantasy rpgpeople obviously love games that are just about fishing, and people love fishing in rpgs, just have them mash pissers. no combat, just a cozy little fishing game, your classes all have different ways to fish. like wizards could adjust the temperature of water to catch higher ranges of fish in one body of water, or druids could speak to the fish to catch a specific desired species more often, or maybe necromancers can "fish" at dried lakes for skeletal fish? something like that. maybe add other cozy profession-based gameplay ala runescape too i just know fishing is the most popular
>>738680635how did the ai make something as funny as "greta cthunberg" lol
>>738664607There would be a social experience like VRchat where players tend to wander aimlessly through the world and a sandbox element to the exploration. Like a lot of non-combat spells/potions/etc that allow players to think outside the box, such as being able to make lasting changes to themselves, potentially permanent afflictions in order to traverse somewhere, acquire something, pass certain checks (like being permanently shapeshifted into something else, being infected and turned - vampire/werewolf/undead, being shrunk down, etc). The player progress/combat would be risky such that it would steer players away from always being engaged in combat/grinding (like losing player level or items). The individual player would have numerous skills to level and stats to train. Depending on the player character's traits it might change what they are capable of. For instance a large oaf wouldn't be good at stealth things, a slender woman wouldn't be good at using a giant hammer nor plate armor. Stats would determine your proficiency with all sorts of things. Like if you have high weight/strength, you handle heavy armor better. High int for magic, high faith for light/dark stuff, etc. There would be an alignment meter for good/neutral/evil, these would affect how NPCs interact with you, with methods to conceal it such as having a high charisma stat. It might also dictate what quests/interactions are available to you. Like a holy knight falling to darkness, it would require them to be near maximum good to pass some check in order to embark on that quest. In this sense your class would be defined by the path you choose in the world. But it wouldn't be all about combat ability. There might be potential in character types not well-suited for combat, like a bard or a fairy. I imagine a fairy player would have very high dodge/agility and magic affinity, but have very low health and strength.

Whether or not quests give BiS items isn't of importance. Story should be a prime reward rather than cosmetics. skills like pick pocketing do not give raw moneyideally the game is a sequel to something then the mmo proceeds to a point in the overall story to which the story is continued elsewhere, only to have expansion content pick up the story from that point - this is to give story characters proper attention outside the context of the player characterprobably more

From Monday to Friday, intel gathering and material procurement missions are available. They're for discovering upcoming enemy attacks and strengthening fortifications and the players themselves. Intel will be passed along in-game to help players decide where to go for the next phase. On the weekends, the game switches to Siege phase. Hordes of different enemies are going to come for the main hub from all over the game map edges, including infiltrators that conduct strikes deep into allied territory. It's mostly just this ad infinitum. Hopefully the GM keeps it entertaining. I just feel like having one unifying goal would make the player base more social, which is what we want out of MMOs.

Honestly a lot like Vanilla WoWI'd slow things down substantially in terms of leveling speed and xp gain but make each level more engaging. This means more class quests, quests for gear, spells, abilities and so on. I'd make a much more defined separation between the classes. It always kind of bothered me that Warriors for Alliance were exactly the same as Warriors for Horde where they have the same abilities and icons for their spells, but I understand why it exists for balancing reasons.Endgame shouldn't be an afterthought but the focus has and should always be on the leveling experience. Reputation farming should be vastly expanded upon and made in to the real endgame where you get all kinds of bonuses, gear and perks for being exalted with a faction. Raids will still be a thing but function as a vehicle to facilitate reputation gains. I'd also make the profession system much deeper and more dependent on other players - like for example I'm a blacksmith making a piece of plate armor, I need to seek out a leather worker to make the leather underneath the plate and an enchanter to give it +stats, shit like that

>>738664607Dungeons and Dragons Online with the more social oriented features of something like Mabinogi.
literally just pso2 except the classes are more distinct, better balanced, and it has actual content instead of a neverending number treadmillits so close its incredible its as shit as it is
>>738695731The story is fucking shit. I hate being force to work with a retarded AI woman and have my character turn into an emo faggot edge lord from Hot Topic just because some girl died and you want to kill her again
>>738695540you can, just not FTL, because it has mass.
>>738664607The Secret World, but more immersive.

>>738695834From your own perspective:•time dilation increases•distances contract in the direction of travelSo you could theoretically cross huge distances within your own experienced time without ever exceeding light speed externally.
>>738695991So just exclusively PVP?
>>738664607Final Fantasy XI but if it had a playerbase
>>738664607Destiny - the first one, so current gen PS+xbox (I guess lol) console exclusive and controller only and not woke as fuck yet - with no PvP at all, ever, or anything that lets retards measure e-dicks. Single player power fantasy in a shared world where you can group up if you want. Lots of the content is intended for groups but nothing ever forces you to group and the difficulty isn’t beyond a good player to solo. The entire game should honestly be piss easy for a competent gamer (which was true for Destiny 1), the purpose is the decompress and kill alien cunts not to replace the fulfillment of real success in life. Either monthly subscription if there’s substantial updates at least every 3 months, otherwise box cost only. No cash shop or boosts or passes or anything you can possibly spend any money on other than the base price and possible sub.

>>738696052The energy required to move faster than light is infinity. You can't have infinite energy. As you approach the speed of light, time around you moves faster relative to you. You could be stationary and move the universe around you. It's how the planet express ship works.

>>738664607I miss f2p jank mmos like this.
>>738664607Literally just Dark Age of Camelot except ported to a better engine and using the pvp ruleset(mordred)
Thottbot and to a lesser extent, Elitist Jerks, were the beginning of the end of MMOs. I was an extremely active participant of EJ and in a NA top 100 guild ZG through Cata so not at all innocent, but the widely spread new focus around datamining and optimization was the beginning of the end for gaming in general. Unironically, you can never go back. The days of exploration and discovery are long gone and at least in gaming, you missed out and will never be able to experience what everyone is so nostalgic over
i just want the current mmos to learn from each other instead of just rehashing the same shit over and over>xiv's music and visual effects>swtor's main story writing>eso's side quest writing>wow's combat and collection system>wildstar or eso dye system>an engine that doesn't support consoles AT ALLthere are probably other things but these are the first that come to mind. we already have the right ingredients for the perfect mmo, we just need to combine them
>>738697136Thought it got some stuff wrong like the Adventure Guild being a player made group.

>>738697364>wow's combat
>>738697364>>swtor's main story writing>>eso's side quest writing
>>738664607it's called "Evercold" and I don't have to dream no more nigga
>>738697576most mmo combat feels like a fucking flash game, at least wows is responsive
>>738666802>+FFXIV Raidsoh so you just cheat then?
I enjoy fantasy life girl who steals time.if level 5 used that as their base and expanded the world and companions were just running around the world like in erenshor to simulate players would be fun
>>738697296Miss this game so bad but the controls have aged terribly. Hard to believe the game represented by this screenshot used to overheat my old laptop back in the day.
>>738664607A relaunch of WoW, but I get full creative control.I don't know if they're afraid to rock the boat too much, but those fuckers have already made time travel and alternate universes.Hard reboot it and make Classic plus PLUS, but with all the lessons learned from the future, and none of the horseshit that accompanied it. Hell, mess with the canon and mechanics while we're at it. The sky's no longer the limit once you uncork the genie in a bottle that is alternate universes and time travel. What a lot of MMOs struggle with is not having a world people are already invested in. Warcraft and Star Wars games get a lot of draw because of those already established worlds.Hell, it took FFXIV getting rebooted for people to care about it. Once it existed prior to (re)release, it became markedly more attractive to people, regardless of the all the needed reworking they did under the hood. Elder Scrolls Online had a huge launch, and then faltered because it kind of sucked, but the original attention got it a lot of players right out of the gate.>>738697364But these jagoffs don't ever want to learn for some reason! They just want to reinvent the wheel!
>>738697723
>>738697724Retard.
>>738697916The absolute main "lesson" learned from all iterations of classic is that players have no fucking clue what they want and will never be happy
>>738698470This is an amazing picture, because it perfectly encapsulates how AI sloppa jeets are not only nothing but ideas guys, but they have absolutely dogshit ideas as well.
>>738684573Honestly I'm really surprised no one has taken the gacha model of development and applied to an MMO yet, especially with how much gacha budgets have ballooned. The Mihoyo style games here are still distinct since you simply aren't running around a world where you get to engage other players despite all the other MMO contrivances in them.
>>738698470This sounds like complete dogshit literally no normalfag would touch.
>>738698470what a vile imagebut voice activated spells is kinda cool desu
>>738664607WoW with FF musicso WoW with the soundtrack add-on

>>738699392Neverending humiliation ritual for intfags.Fund it.
Mechanically like Dragon's Dogma. And I mean 1:1 translation, no retarded MMO base game but with DD aesthetic and mechanics tacked on. Basic, I want the feeling of adventure.Additionally, I would like to see a player driven economy and systems. You know how GTA has those RP servers where everyone role plays their profession? Think that, but ina fantasy setting. Players can run stores, restaurants, inn, or work security, message couriers, run outpost, farming, etc. That's just a fool's dream though. You would basically have to build multiple entirely different games to encourage that kind of player into your game. You would have to get as deep as Stardew Valley if you want farm gamers to really invest in their role in the world and I don't see that happening.
>Dream MMO>Most anons just rehash shit that already existsGo wild. Have some imagination. >I would want WoW but a little bit betterBoring
>>738701189>Additionally, I would like to see a player driven economy and systems. You know how GTA has those RP servers where everyone role plays their profession? A lot of people leave, everyone else goes "why am I wasting my time here?" and leave, anyone who's left is forced out as the economy implodes, devs have to intervene and fuck up the gimmick just to keep it running for another few months.
>>738701270wow is a gay furry game
>>738664607the riding and taming mechanic for mounts from Echo of Soulthe fishing mechanics from Aura Kingdom the class and weapon skill changing mechanics from Guild Wars 2WoW's open word then I'd be happy to play
>>738664676I have a beta key and that game is ass right now. It has so much potential. I agree with you.
we already had. Sad that casual ruined MMOs

>>738701465Anyone who plays retail or anything past wotlk is gay
What are your dream MMO races? What visual archetypes should player customization be built around? How closely should they be tied to the setting?
>>738701618The game has potential. It has the potential of being a modern take on everquest but also has the possibility of being ass and gay. Do you think that if it's not as big as wow it is irrelevant and sucks?
>>738701781it has about the same potential to be a good game as world of assfaggots (none)

>>738664607Something inbetween FFXIV and WoW. Visually closer to FFXIV, while retaining the more diverse aesthetics of wow. FFXIV has no overworld worth a damn, I can easily lose myself in classic wow and even some parts of modern wow so I'd like that. But i want a strong core story like FFXIV, and professions. But i want replayability like wow, where i can make some new alt anytime and just get started with no hassle unlike ffxiv that locks me into my 1 main account.
>>738702027keep playing your world of assfaggots
vanilla wow but blizzard bans bots and prevents shitholes from playing on human servers (they wont because sub money lmao)
>>738701654Wow died when TBC launched. Funneling everyone into a single zone and killing off the whole of the old world was the dumbest thing they could have done.
>>738701719Humans only. You have to do a face scan and it will make a character for you, so you can't pick a female if you're a male and vice versa, and you can't pretend to be white if you aren't. Trannies are auto-assigned male.
wow classic but it fixes all the issues that i have in my mind with it and no i wont elaborate
>>738664607I liked a lot of what Maple Story 2 did with player generated content. Building player housing was fun. Composing music and performing it with other players was fun. Making original outfits, and then selling it to other players was fun. The random community events were also fun. Doing more than just combat all the time is what these games need to expand engagement.
>>738664607one where I don't have to pay monthly to play a videogame, but also it doesn't have a cash shop
Wakfu except it's made by people who understand game theory and autism instead of French artists who are on vacation for 3 months of the year.
>>738664607EverQuest next as it was promised.Alternatively: space station 13 but its dragons dogma
>>738706580>as it was promised. With EQ2 graphic but updated to modern texture resize, not wow graphic.
>>738664607Ragnarok Online
>>738666913thisalso no instanced dungeons or questing. Just go out into the world and find a patch to grind/loot on
>>738694804>/v/ perfect MMO is AIslopGot it.I find funny you keep saying "no chore" but you literally have to live a second life on it to get anythingAlso it screams "they are holding me down! I don't need the hand holding!"
>>738694804literally new world but you won't play it lmao>>738696801because they want full loot open world pvp but only if they're there from day1 so they won't be on the receiving end of the griefing
>>738664607Ultima Online + Ragnarok Online + Vanilla WoW thrown into a blender
>>738664607PSO2 but you can make all the girls fuckin' obese
>>738709647so just pso2?
How did the French manage to make the best MMORPG of 2026?
>>738664607Multi region pokemon mmo but abandon all the old regions and systems and just make a new fleshed out world and lore, map based on mars if it had water and was habitableBig northern ocean, some seas and lakes, huge southern continentNot too futuristic, doesnt need to be scifi just because the terrain is based on mars, keep it grounded
>>738709823basically lmao
>>738686349Okay the server is region locked to 1 timezone and only up for 6 hours each evening after work/school hours.Make gaming local again.I don't wanna play with Serbians and Chinese if I live in California anyway.
>>738709970In Vanilla WoW if you played NA East you basically played with Americans and Canadians in the Eastern seaboard region.
>>738664607Age of Conan, I liked the stupid DDR qte for doing your moves and the gory over the top executions
WoW but no datamining or encyclopedias making the entire world one busted-open spreadsheet simulator. So 2006 WoW I guess.
eve + wow
>>738693721My nigga
Big world. Like Daggerfall-size big.TES-like class constructor.Focus on sanbox, PvP and territory control.
Dungeons and Dragons online without the fucking lag. DDO is so fucking unique and high quality (exluding network code). It is literally the best mmorpg covered in turd mtx and technical problems
wow + crusader kings
>>738683448That's pretty much Albion, which is in turn EVE Online in fantasyland instead of space.
>>738710789p2w dogshit game

PHANTASY STAR ONLINE EPISODE 1 AND 2NO CHANGES NECESSARY
>>738668145People that whinge about Eve are either crybaby pussies about getting ganked in highsec, or they're retards the willingly burn themselves poopsocking over shit that doesnt matter.
>>738684747or you know, just ignore nullsec cuz its actually trash space lol. let the retards have big lagfest fleet battles, they're doing it to fight over territory that makes less isk than the other parts of space anyway.
Dream MMO? One of those shitty MMO Animes where it's basically a real world with infinite choices and stories and infinite replayability. In reality - I'd settle for something with fun combat that has servers in Australia so I can actually play it without lagging.
Ultima Online without the jank
>>738664607My dream is MMOs never existing in the first place
>>738713817PSO1's combat feels like shit. PSO2 did it better under Ep4 ruined everything.
>>7386646072011 runescape put continuing down the path it was already on instead of shitting the bed
>>738715031I really liked post ep4 advanced class design. Most of the kits worked together well and made sense. However, rather than continuing the game after its ep 6 redemption they just decided to throw it into the dumpster.
>>738715379Ep4+'s class design would have been cool for a sequel, the problem was shit like Hero was blatantly too overtuned to be in PSO2 as it existed.
>>738690475Ascension WOW has aspects of this, including a roguelike inspired mode. Shame it's a private server, and thus will eventually get murdered.
>>738699454if wow had good raid music I might have stuck with it. People underestimate the power of a good BGM
>>738715446That's a fair complaint, the advance classes definitely were stronger than the base classes in most cases. But I think they should have taken a note from the advance class designs and updated the older classes to flow a bit better. But I have no idea why sega handled the game so awfully, it's more likely they had no idea what they were doing and just struck gold on accident, given their track record.
MMOs just don't work anymore. Give me Hub based instanced multiplayer. Like GW1.Or something like Dragon's Dogma Online.
>>738693490
>>738699306There are a couple MMO gachas, they're just shit.Tower of Fantasy and Blue Protocol are two that come to mind, there could be more but I mostly ignore gacha so I don't know what they might be.In ToF's case I tried it when they did their warp server, which swapped the gacha elements from characters/weapons to cosmetics. It failed because it was INCREDIBLY more grindy than any MMO I've played. It was also severely lacking in content, at any given point there was only ONE dungeon that you could run and you needed to run it, I'm not fucking kidding. HUNDREDS of times per WEEK just to keep up on your gear advancement. Likewise there were only like 5 "raid" bosses, raids being just 1 encounter usually in a completely fucking empty room that took 5 minutes to kill, also something you had to farm HUNDREDS of times per week to keep your gearscore up. It was like my first time having sex because it was Fucking. Retarded.Hotta are a trash studio skill-wise, maybe someone else could do the concept better.
>>738664607something like classic wow, but>reworked class balance in terms of damage/healing/hp done >reworked lategame player stats>redesigned boss fights so they're not just tank & spank>additional quests and dungeons for the level area>additional cosmetic rewards for people leveling many characters to max level, maybe even add some kind of seasonal leveling system>hire a team of workers and their only job would be identifying and banning bots
>>738664607one that doesn't have all that text shit all over the god damn place
>>738715918>Give me Hub based instanced multiplayer. Like GW1.said nobody ever
>>738716892So what Project Epoch promised and hilariously failed to deliver. Or what turtlewow actually was.
>>738717638literally everyone in this thread asking for PSO/PSO2 is asking for that
>>738664607class/job/profession wise i like the mastery system that guild wars 2 does for its profession, you max level then you use hero points to unlock new set of skills so your job can be played very different, even depending on the weapon it holds.if anything would maybe simplify base professions to 3 or 4 and expand from there onward.remove dailies but keep weekly goals.
take vanilla wow and heavily randomize all content to the point where you can't use guides. also every server has a different seed. make respeccing free and let every character have a couple of spec slots they can change between
