I liked how SMT 5 did it where rhe whole game takes place on the tree of life but it's all kabbalah esotericism so you can't tell you're on a tree except when you game over and the veneer melts away to show you're walking on a branch

That's what Earth used to look like. Every mountain was a giant mana tree.

Why do people who don't play JRPGs make up reasons to get mad at them so much?

Because they're all the same myth, same Gods just under different names and perspective to their part of the world.

Like Enoch was the first to walk with God in Heaven, ALIVE, and apparently became Hermes/Thoth in Egpyt and was known as Hermes Trismegestus (thrice-greatest) and known for the Emerald Tablet (fucking Alchemy) and founded Hermeticism. The same Enoch that was the subject and author of the Book of Enoch, telling the story of the Watchers, the Archons, the fallen angels, the real reason for God's Wrath and the Great Flood, which was the Nephilim, hybrid human-angels or (or demon-human) species.

As stated in the Emerald Tablet, Hermes claims to possess the "three parts of the wisdom of the whole world":
>Alchemy (The Operation of the Sun)
The spiritual transformation of the soul and the life of matter.
>Astrology (The Operation of the Stars)
Understanding the celestial influences and metaphors of the divine mind.
>Theurgy (The Operation of the Gods)
Divine magic used to connect the human soul with the creator.

The Greatest Philosopher (wisdom).
The Greatest Priest (spirituality).
The Greatest King (governance/power).

King, Green, Emerald?
What's also King, Green, Emerald? The Jade Emperor.
Also thrice-greatest (Supreme Ruler of Heaven, Earth, Hell), related to highest manifestation of the Tao, the Taoist Trinity
>Yuanshi Tianzun (The Jade Pure One)
>Lingbao Tianzun (The Supreme Pure One)
>Daode Tianzun (The Grand Pure One)
Daode is said to be reincarnated as Lao Tzu, the founder of Taoism.
All of them refered to the same entitiy, Hermes Trismegestus. The same Mandala - the Star of David, Solomon's Seal in Judaism and Kabbalah is found in Daoism, in Yin and Yang and the Bagua, the Eight Trigrams. In the Five Star Planets / Elements diagram, combined with Sun and Moon making the Seven Luminaries.

They're all the same story, same God/s. From the Titans vs the Olympians and demigos like Hercules to the Mahabharata and the Norse Gods, etc. They're all the ones and the same.

OP posted it to point out how awesome it is.

But it kinda is. In Ocarina it might seem small and localized, partly because maybe hardware limitation and it feels less important because it's literally the start of the game, but in BOTW the Lost Woods is a huge area and the Tree is actuslly humongous.

Also you know how people talk about sentience and shit, like how animals could "speak" in barks, chirps etc, but wondered if plants could talk? As if they're kinda like dumb and has no souls, no way to talk to each other?

No, lol no. Trees have roots. It's the largest and biggest information highway in the world, under fucking ground. The roots are talking and sending information like our nerves cells and synapses all across the world in no time. Think about it, there are HUGE above ground roots that are taller than human, they're like the great walls of roots. Now imagine how much more massive the roots are globally, underground, and how deep down they reach.

One of the reasons I liked REVIIlage so much. The Megamycete lore was fucking neat. Instead of having like a pool of consciousness, somewhere say, projected from the Source, from the Black Hole, in the Event Horizon, the pool of consciousness really is beneath our feet all these time. All the things that rots and turns to dust and dirt gets absorbed by the earth and it literally gets collectected like a data bank or a pool of consciousness and stored in the roots and there's giant sentient entity there kinda like the Demiurge or rather fucking Lorkhan deep down under us.
