Runs everything older than Dreamcast perfectly. Dreamcast games work but it struggles on some of them. Just tried Burnout on PSP and it's mostly find just has a bit of a freak out after some of the crashes.
But I maily play PS1 and Megadrive.
>>738704657
>a literal 4×3 screen
It's a 1:1 screen actually. 720x720. Looks fine on the PSP games I did try, just adds black bars.

720x720. Good for 4x3 and Gameboy, which is the majority of what I play.
>>738709543
Why though? I don't even play PSP. I have no interest in PSP games. What purpose does this serve? Are you planning on buying one for PSP? I recommend you don't. The games run fine but it's a 1:1 screen. It's not for wide screen.

>Knulli just updated.
Oh baby time for the state mandated two hours to update all my devices and fix all their settings again because these guys can't figure out how to keep settings consistent throughout machines so you don't have to reset to factory every time.
>>
>>738710306
Why update if everything works?
Though it would be nice if they figured out WiFi.
>>
>>738710381
Because they fix a lot of their UI issues, lower the frontend overhead, update Retroarch which means better performance particularly on H700 devices, and generally stuff just runs smoother. I've already updated my RG35XX-H, currently doing my RG35XX-SP and on both I've noticed the game previews now load instantly with no hitching, the menus are way faster in general, you can install Portmaster from a menu instead of needing to awkwardly work around the .sh file, the battery is much more accurate, etc.

With Knulli specifically each major upgrade has honestly been significantly better than the last, I just hate how they can't standardize their config files so I have to sign into RA, Screenscraper, and my wi-fi every single time they do this, I have to set up RetroArch again with the proper UI settings and notification times, I have to set up the general emulation settings, etc.
>>
>>738710490
Hmm, OK I will risk it. I haven't updated since last May. My only real issue has been it doesn't connect to my dual band wifi unless I force it to 2.4ghz and wpa2. Dunno if that's specifically my device or knulli, but it's annoying.
>>
>>738710632
You need to go to System -> Services -> Samba which should fix any connecting to it via the network. In Scarab (The new version) you need to tick off SSH, turn on Samba, then reboot the system (Not the computer) to get it to recognize your device.
>>
>>738710490
ive been using muOS on my 34xx sp, would you say its better to use knulli on that?
>>
>>738710678
Different use cases. muOS is for speed and a barebones experience. Knulli is more if you want more bells and whistles and visuals. The difference in cold boot time is like 3 extra seconds but it has way more features built in by default.

>PSP on a 1:1-ass screen
At least that's worth some guaranteed replies I guess.

Anywho, for chinkhelds right now, it's the Retroid Pocket 6. Played a variety of games as kind of a "trial run" for a while, played some games more than others while some games didn't run as well as I hoped, I'd say overall it's a cool system though the QC on mine was pretty ass because there was two loose screws bouncing around inside that I'm pretty sure are just extra? No actual ISSUES though, thankfully.
I've also got a 28xx but the lack of wi-fi is grating now that I'd love to have cloud saves. Might swap this thing out for something else super-pocketable with wi-fi.

Games, I'm currently in the middle of Switch.
Played Diablo 3 for a few acts on a couple characters before remembering just how shit that game is (might put D2 or some other ARPG on there to replace it), 100%'d both 50 and 100cc on MK8D, then found out Class of Heroes got ported to Switch so I played 3 a bit then switched to 2. CoH is a clusterfuck of a franchise though, every game is a long list of pros and cons because the devs have no consistency. Not too far into 2 yet, I just passed the second school.
(Side note: I really wish Anomaly Collapse was a regular RPG, not some strategy roguelite shit.)
GameNative was probably my biggest "dick around to see what works" thing, I've backed off from it for a bit but I played a good amount of shit on there too, like unlocking a few more characters on Sonic (aASRT), and Ex Zodiac and a few other games. I need to try one of the GameHub APKs to see if I can smoothbrain a modded Skyrim install. Or I'll just put my nose to the grindstone and use Winlator since apparently that's the best way to do Skyrim, IDFK.

Steamdeck is awful as a laptop replacement and too bulky for a handheld replacement. It's good only if you can't tinker emulators or depends on steam games

Not what i said.
Steamdeck is a pc, but feels awful to do pc stuff (you need extra dock, keyboard/mouse and maybe screen to make it usable). As a handheld you can't carry it without a bag, it's not much more powerful than android consoles either and have a worse screen, it shines only for playing steam games.
I travel quite often and to be honest, each time i took the steamdeck it became unecessary bulk due to all the accessories needed to make it a proper laptop replacement

I carry mine in my backpack and play it on the bus all the time, and you can add non steam games/emulators easily to your library and get art for them so its seamless. I only ever use desktop mode at home to setup games or mods which I'd want WiFi for anyway

>I carry mine in my backpack and play it on the bus all the time
Well, I did say you can't carry it without a bag so yea...
Being able to install emulators isn't the issue, the issue is that the device isn't better than alternatives either for screen or device size if you mostly play emulators

Twilight Princess (Dusk)

Ordered one for my gf, hopefully it arrives before her birthday in September.
It runs Switch games about as well as a Switch, so we can retire hers and also load up ROMs for older consoles, so overall a much better upgrade than a Switch 2.
