I had to stop playing Marathon because of cortisol burnout after 8 hour sessions.It’s funni until you realise you’re tricking your entire body into to thinking there are legitimate life threatening events happening, where every footstep, audio crunch and machine whir plays on your mind. I’ve literally had arguments with squad mates about whether they were hearing things in the map vs it being in their mind. Marathon’s a good game, but I don’t think it’s healthy for the majority of people, and I’m on the easier end of that. I’ve heard people say they were shaking after a match ended. I’ve had moments where I’ve had to physically go outside and take breaths. That’s not normal for a video game. To what end is that meant to retain a Destiny 2 peak player base? It can’t.
