You can use the dpad or the analog stick for movement in either control scheme. Puzzle and combat difficulty are separate settings like how silent hill does it which is an added bonus. There are a bunch of costume unlocks (not that i've got any yet) and some other unlocks i've yet to get, but I suspect one is unlimited ammo as I saw the text pop up briefly in a quick menu transition lol.
