That's the worse thing. I remember the launcher forcing me to update my legit GTA V copy with some GTA Online crap I don't use. Not gonna wait to download 100gbs of GTA:O slop just to play SP. That was only with the Rockstar launcher, but I can imagine having to deal with Steam on top.
>>

don't forget that they also removed the multiplayer in the version. Should be no more than $20 for this shit.

this.
it's how steam displays the price of games included in a bundle and i actually hate how it doesn't indicate "bundle pricing" to try and avoid situations like this where it looks like the 'deal' is fucking awful

Steam itself tries to fuck you. For me it was RE Revelations 2. I've nearly been tricked a couple times into buying what I thought was the whole game, but was instead just episode 1 whilst the price for the whole lot was pretty fucking atrocious
>>
I thought it wasn't legal to adjust your base price like that for a sale

Wait a second. I never played Red Dead Redemption 1. Are you telling me if I loved Red Dead 2, that I'll like RDR1 even more? Can I pirate this shit?
>>
>>738727517
because Steam is like a personal public display platform. When people buy games on there, they aren't just buying games, they're buying another item to put on display, with all of their achievements, discussions, playtime, etc, to all of their friends and whoever ends up on their profile.

it's very true. It reinforces a sense of validity in the item you bought. It's not just something you picked up(pirating), it's something you OWN.
>>
>>738727608
It's a far more focused experience, so a lot of people prefer it over RDR2. While the second is a great cowboy-esque simulator, the RDR1 doesn't overstay its welcome and the gameplay is less sluggish.

I really don't get it, we're talking about Rockstar/Take Two here, the people raking billions off selling shark cards or whatever they're called to kids in GTA Online.
It's like pirating Microsoft/Adobe software, if you feel any shred of guilt about it you're a brainwashed cuck.

>>738728680
They don't even do anything with RDO anymore, since it doesn't bring in as much money as GTAO. Literally no reason to spend more money on a piece of shit company like that.

These launchers are the reason I buy consoles.
I'd much rather pay 500€ for a console than to install another launcher, and make another fucking account I have to remember a password to. Granted I wouldn't do that either if I didn't have a PS account from the ancient times PS3 was the hottest thing.

Thankfully I don't know anyone IRL who's stupid enough to believe that.
GTA VI will probably come to PC with the next gen port when PS6 comes out, maybe 2028 maybe first half of 2029.

>>738728841
They don't even do deep discounts on their other 7th gen titles like Max Payne 3 and L.A. Noire, I don't consider 6-7 EUR to be a deep discount for a game that old.
Another benefit to pirating jewstar games is you won't have to deal with their malware games launcher and anticheat.

Bundle with RDR2 (which coincidentally actually goes on much larger sale all the time, and even larger sales if you're willing to take a Rockstar Launcher key from some 3rd party seller. The one downside is that they don't have 3rd party legit keyseller steam keys often except gray market stuff).. That's why it looks that way.
>RDR = Not on sale at all
>RDR2 = 75-80% sale currently, being down to $15/20
Its worth mentioning that I think RDR2 does NOT require the Rockstar Launcher, but may require a Rockstar Account. Also its a little annoying that I think the Bundle's RDR2 on Steam is NOT the Ultimate Edition which is kind of shitty especially as Ultimate is not purchased a la carte as a DLC upgrade.

>>738727517
RDR was finally ported to PC that was a big part of it , along with some of the QoL upgrades and other features, modding etc.. that makes it the best version. The prices are too high if not on sale I think, but I can see why people buy it rather than try to emulate, especially if you can get it on a deep sale. Especially as a signal to Rockstar that they should bring shit to PC via Steam instead of fucking around with console exclusivity for years and then whining people don't buy at max price.

Did they ever get back to updating
>RDO
with actual content or even the in-game season passes things you could farm for content to unlock etc? I'm still pissed that because it didn't make GTAO Shark Card money on day 1 they basically pissed away all the potential of Cowboy MMO/Survival simulator, to say nothing for anons probably making KKK mods in RDO RP or whatever.

They do the monthly(?) changes with bonuses for each job, but other than that and Halloween passes? Fucking nothing. It's basically entirely abandoned.
There are RP servers that use RedM but those can be super cliquey and strict. There is a steam group that uses the startup.meta file to have a regular RDO private server, but it's pretty small and they also vet you before you can join.

Honestly I know it would be retarded to suggest an anons server that uses just 1234 as the passcode but it's just sad to play online nowadays.
>>
Just pirate the switch version and play it at 200% system speed for 60fps and 2x or higher emulator scaling.
>>
>>738732452
you're aware there's a native PC version to pirate???
>>
>>738732757
I literally didn't know because all the modern copy protection shenanigans made me stop paying attention to PC releases.
>>
>>738732997
I pirated it like day 1, ran perfectly on max settings at 4K 60 fps on my now old Ryzen 3600 and 2070S

before the pc version came out I played the 360 version of the game with mouse and keyboard controls with no issues at all, why the fuck are people spending that much on it?

Xenia is really cool and all, but you need pretty good hardware to run Xenia well. Hardware that I'm confident would cost substantially more than just buying red dead. Same with RPCS3. Think the easiest version to run would be Switch, no?
>>
>>738724987
Dead nightmares
>>
>>738735017
Xenia is not very demanding, unless you're upscalling, but yeah, not too many people want to play at 720p
>>
>>738735369
It doesn't run amazingly for me with a 5600X/3060Ti, most videos I see of people running it on YouTube have like a 9800X3D and a 5090.
>>
i loved rdr1, played that shit on my ps3 back in the days
im not sure I will enjoy rdr2, shit looks pretty but most of my friends are telling me shit is boring af
>>
>>738736292
I'm a big fan of both RDR1 and RDR2, so I can elucidate some anons about the differences:

RDR1 is much faster in terms of its gameplay - shooting, actions, looting, overall speed of the game. Red Dead 2 is slower overall, EVERYTHING I listed above is noticeably slower and weightier. RDR2 focuses heavily on the survivalism / simulation aspect. Hunting is tied directly to consuming food / drink with variety - and its important. When you are in a cold place with snow high in the mountains, you need to wear warmer clothes or else your health core drains fast. Same thing in a hot place - if you wear too much warm clothes your health core also drains because Arthur is overheating. Where as hunting in RDR1 is just for upgrades + making money. Hunting in RDR2 is much more elaborate, you can't shoot a wolf 5 times with a rifle and expect the pelt to be in good condition. You need to only use headshots with the right bullet caliber and/or arrow size. Helping out Dutch's gang with camp donations, food supply, and upgrades is entirely optional but its quite fun and plays into the immersion. You have to feed your horse, clean it if it gets dirty, and calm it down when it sees snakes, bears, wolves or alligators.

And ultimately, that brings me to my point - the main difference between RDR1 and RDR2 is that RDR2 is trying to be more of a cowboy simulator game where you have to commit to lengthly animations. It really wants you to feel like you're trying to survive and live in the wild west as the main enforcer of an outlaw gang. The gang depends on you to survive and make money, so Arthur has a lot of responsibility that the game pushes onto you. Again, you can ignore the gang completely and nothing changes, but helping them gives lots of rewards. RDR1 is supposed to feel like a fast-paced wild west movie in comparison, and it very minimally plays into any sort of survival mechanics whatsoever. I absolutely love both games but they're different.
>>
>>738734745
Never ran well for me for some reason it would always go from 30fps directly down to 20 which was jarring.
Still better than trying to run the PS3 version via rpcs3 though, or original hardware for that matter.
>>
>>738724206
like call of duty "sales". shan't be paying $15 for united offensive.
>>
>>738724206
why is it 41% specifically?
>>
>>738738695
using a 3700x paired with a 3080 I initially tried the ps3 version using rpcs3 and it ran like shit 15-25 fps with plenty of artifacts as well
xenia on the other hand ran smoothly, mostly 60fps with some caps in the 50s occasionally
