Only if you're not an unapologetic narcissist who can't stand the idea that he's not already perfect in every way.
The combat gets boring fast, enemies become damage and poise sponges way too quickly so all the cool sticking to wall, bouncing enemies off each other, throwing them across the room so they rebound on the wall just goes off the window and you're basically treating it like rollslop with ability cooldowns for 80% of the runtime.

There is actually enough unique dialogue that I never heard a repeated conversation until I was finishing up the last valkyrie, they put that much care into this game. The story is always centered around the father/son thread, and it wraps up well in the end.Ragnarok only does combat/bosses better, maybe graphics. Everything else is worse.
>>738742192I dunno man I played the first games on PS2, basically one of the games I was most excited to play on PS3 was GoW 3, ever since Ascension I've been disappointed with the franchise.It's like I the monkey's paw granted me my teenage wish from back in the day to play God Of War on PC, but it did it in the most twisted way possible. This reboot or sequel or whatever it's called looks so generic and unnecessary, they dug out the franchise's corpse just to put a clown outfit on it.

Leviathan Axe is an incredible weapon.The level design is really good too, and the writing is very strong.I do not recommend Ragnarok in any way, but 2018 is my second favorite in the series. Excellent cutscene direction, music and beautiful combat animations that are far beyond what the rest of the western gaming industry is capable of.
>>738741060The combat is okay at best. There are fun options like launching an enemy in the air or having boy shoot an arrow at them. The fun is dragged down by extremely long sections of just getting to the next area and not having nearly enough enemies to the point you often feel like you're fighting someone you've fought enough already. It's fun enough to try if it looks cool to you, but it's often going to disappoint.

>>738741060The combat is no different from the OG games. Swap button mashing square and triangle for R1 and R2 and it's the same exact shit...except cringe dialogue and no nudity. If you still want to play the first game then go ahead but I implore you not to touch Ragnarok that game is absolute dog shit. Same applies to Horizon Forbidden West and Spider Man 2.
