Act 1 is the best one for a first playthrough because it feels super reactive and like you are accidently wandering out of the story because they put everything so close together. Act 2 is the best if you've already played act 1 since when you realize act 1 isn't as open as you thought it loses a lot of the magic. the problem with act 2 is the rewrites make a lot of it not make sense

Act 1 feels the best because it's got the most varierty in it and gives you more freedom to solve problems
Act 2 is just one map with two mega dungeons in it, with only a few variant encounters.
Act 3 is better than 2 imo, because while the solutions to most encounters are still one note, the sheer variety of them means that you'll feel more free regardless. Act 3 is only a problem if you feel compelled to complete everything after hitting level 12.

the "random" encounters in act 2 are pretty fun with the toll collector and the doctor. I think one of the best parts about 1 is it feels like you are accidently wandering out of the story at times when you find the underdark early or run into rafaiel

Drider is ruined because they made him into a guy instead of hot barechested girl like in normal fantasy game it would be. The Planetar is an ugly dyke instead of hot angel gf. The Selune elf priestess doesen't wear skimpy priestess robes. Fairy doesent become your companion and is uglified. Every other NPC is an obnoxious gay gnome yelling about thier HUSBAND ffs.
Baldur's Gate 3 is just a porn novel for femcels.
