It's not bad, it's just not as good as people claim it to be. Had you gone into the game with 0 expectations, you would've been pleasantly surprised.
As it stands, Bloodborne is a solid 8/10 game in my eyes.

Chalice dungeons are why so much of it falls off. As simplistic and copy paste as the dungeons feel, it took a lot more time to get them to work than it was worth, and it cost development every where else.

Tedious is not a fucking argument. Forbidden Woods is a massive multi-layered area with only one central lamp but navigating it is made easier by the several time saving shortcuts that are conveniently placed right when you are desperate for them. That makes for satisfying and tense exploration. On top of that it has a hidden area that connects back up to Central Yharnam.

Bloodborne hate is so forced. None of it reads as genuine.

Laurence being a Cleric Beast reskin was really disappointing. They should have reskinned the Bloodletting Beast at least, a lot of people didn't even fight it because it was deep into the Chalice Dungeons. And there was the theory that it was Laurence due to the wound on its head anyway, so it would tie things nicely.
Should have just stolen the theory and made it official.
