sup my Brigdaors
I just got killed by a couple of cinderblocks on the fourth or fifth level of Sinkhole and lost my loader van with merchant crates
Such is life
>>
>>738754478
funny you should mention the cinderblock, I just picked it up.
got pasted in my carmine by a coffin with heavy weapons while I waited for the garage update, got a little too full of my pink self.

forgot my pic
honestly I hope that spacer rig is placeholder, it looks really goofy.
the cinderblock is literally just a chopped down mog on roller-skates and I love it.
>>
So whats the premise of brigador killers? We are assassins from Solo nobre but in the first game we were busting up solo nobre? Seems odd.
>>
>>738755218
The idea is we're on different sides of the same conflict.
In the first game you're betraying your planet and its people, or you're space-borne, hyper-cocaine addled cocaine gentry shooting up neighborhoods for kicks.

In Killers you're insurgent Nobreans. The idea is that the SNC's attack on Solo Nobre created a new faction, Loyalists, with both Corvid and NEP elements. People who were united when the company invited spacers to liquify civilians with gamma emitters.

So now you're on the other side of the space river, so to speak. I feel like this game is coming out at a very topical time.
>>
>>738755481
I enjoy the fact that a game can have these elements while resisting the urge to explictly reference current year. I'm more interested in the current events of Solo Nobre than I am whatever dogshit is on tv irl.
>>
>>738754638
>garage update
Oh yeah?
>>
>>738755753
Oh you misundertand me, I think, I mean the period after you drop of rig parts where the garage is "updating" with your new kit.
>>
>>738755972
Ah, yeah, the between mission. Though I like how the inventory takes some doing, I sure wish I had easier access to a med kit when those cinderblocks were raping me.
>>
>>738755637
the interesting thing about this setting and the things that happen in it is how real it all is.
it's not just right now, you can imagine any conflict of the last 50 years and see it.
>corpo interest in the name of liberating people under a despot
>local resistance isn't considered an ally, they're a local threat to be put down like anything else
>we are not liberating these people, they are under new management
>>
>>738756106
Probably holds true over the last 5000 years that we know about and the 100,000 before that we don't know about.
>>
is the AI less dogshit than brigador
>>
>>738756357
It's worse. APCs are constantly getting stuck driving into walls. On the wilderness mission I was able to walk up and kick one to death.

Made me go back to the original and finally complete the closed casket special (finished literally less than 10 minutes ago).
>>
>>738755218
The protags in killers are a bunch of disgruntled nobreans a bit upset that brigadors leveled most of their city so they went to space florida where wealthy people retire to hunt down the brigadors from the first game.

Is there supposed to be some way to make a decent amount of money? There's things you can buy from the black market guy that cost like 10k but all I find is pocket change from mooks
>>
>>738758409
If you do the assassination in the city mission you can pulp every civilian running around for ~100 credits each, or you can do the police checkpoint on the highway which has two chests with ~2k each if you have a good way to deal with the one APC.
>>
>>738757004
Nice work
>>
>>738758409
If you have cinderblock you can race through Vanderberg, there is a chest near the APC with ~2000 and small one at the end of the shanty town with ~1000. If you bring an RPG or something to spank the APC or just lure it out and run past you can snag the cash, kill the marks and be out in very short order. I do like killing or farming that APC though, either way you get two SAWs and a fuck ton of ammo for them which sets you up for a lot of other missions.
>>

I actually just failed the wilderness mission trying to get the carmine suit parts. I lost nearly the entire net worth of my garage. I had a upgunned loader van with the porco and machine gun ammo. I was trying to snipe the APCs with a .50 caliber rifle I had but didn't have enough ammo. The APC bullets shredded my van waaay faster than I thought. I am poor now. That whole map is kind of ass. Fuck me. What guns are even anti-vehicular by this point? I think I found that .50 bmg sniper by luck. Love the game though.
>>
>>738757004
I need to reinstall as well.
>>738759425
The secret is long range, the APCs are using .22lr and can't leave their starting track.

Get you a cheaper up-gun that can mount a bog rifle or two, take the APCs out from across the fence where they can't see or hit you.
>>
>>738759519
But don't you need a vehicle with a "trailer" to get the parts out? I thought the van should be enough. Well, the "loader" van. Not sure about any other vehicles. Which vehicles have a loader in it? or trailer or whatever?
>>
>>738755481
So great leader is dead and was ostensibly a real person, not an AI?
>>
>>738759425
You can get some 7.62mm (or something like that) automatic weapons in aubery's neighborhood, and loads of ammo for them. Those can take out the APCs in my experience, but you still gotta be careful.
Game actually gets significantly easier after wilderness because your health quintuples
>>
I never understood what the scary face robot things were on the Brigador 1 banner. I don't remember seeing them in game.
>>
>>738759693
ah. So 7.62 will damage apcs? I could have sworn I was shooting my porco LMG at one and it wasn't damaging it. I probably didn't see the HP bar. I will try again.
>>
>>738759591
Anything with 200 storage space inside will do.
It doesn't need to be a container, and also there's a van parked midway up the level.
I fought with my gunny lowboy all the way to the suit, lost it to the last APC, and went all the way back for the van, then freewheeled out of there with the suit presumably rolling around on the bed of a white van.
>>
>>738759425
Skip down to sinkhole and look for 40mm grenade launchers, RPGs, LAWs or thermobaric grenades, they're all pretty common drops around the third floor and all will fuck up APCs.
>>
>>738759612
It was probably computer generated, but organized by humans.
There might be some kind of Weyland Yutani AI overlord, who knows? The alcoholic spacer literally gave up his bodily autonomy to an algorithm.

What we do know is they sent out the contract to every terminal in the city and device capable of receiving it, all at the same time. Played the "GREAT LEADER IS DEAD" through every radio and comms unit.

It could be at least partially AI, but on the surface it's pure Space Corpo Banana Republic shit.
>>
>>738759813
Zed Primes? They're a high end Spacer a-grav, they show up on higher difficulties and you can unlock them yourself.
I can't quite remember but I don't think they were in the initial lauch of the game and were added later.
>>
>>738759831
I'm pretty sure I was able to take them out with those, could be misremembering. On that same mission I mentioned you can also find a big container of weapons, which will sometimes have a LAW (single use rocket launcher). If you shoot an APC with that thing it'll knock the driver out of it and you can steal it, drive it home, fix it up, and then use it to complete that mission. If all else fails anyway.
>>
>>738759813
Zed primes aren't that rare.
>>
>>738759813
They show up in the up-armored edition missions, mostly, on high difficulties.
Two heavy mounts in the eyes, they come standard with two Atomo lasers in their, basically glare you to death in seconds.

They're basically just "Revenge of the Spacer Shield unit," angry pop-cans, engage at a distance.
>>
Do yourselves a favor and set Level Aim to toggle in the menu.

What does it do? That's the one default on caps lock right?
>>
>>738763983
it sets your aim to aim as if you were going for your most distant possible shot
good for keeping your shots at the same height regardless of how close or far you're aiming, and with laser weapons it turns into a perfect straight line.
>>
>>738759831
>I probably didn't see the HP bar
For some reason the HP bar doesn't always appear when you hover the crosshair over them. But yes, 7.62 does chunk APCs, but like the other guy said with proper distance and positioning most things will damage them.

The campaign missions seem fun enough but garage mode craft-a-thon is by now the last shit I want to do in a game. To make that kind of autism work you at least need a really sleek inventory system with auto-sorting as an option. Diablo clones have that and you're putting gems into swords, not making mechs.
Also making mechs crouch to shoot long range instead of standing up to shoot over cover (and at a greater distance) is highly questionable in my opinion
>>
>>738767807
I disagree, garage is amazing but a look further button that isn't crouch would be cool

This is classic arcade stuff, three clicks to action. I'll buy Brigador Killers since the main campaign seems like more of this with the nice side of feature creep. I can stand the people talking.
>height/depth
>water
>smarter AI
>maybe 3d proper? still with budget graphics
>MULTIPLAYER
this is what I would want to see in a Brigador 2

it was like 300 pounds of shit i had in a car. i dropped it on the ground because it said "loose items will be stored". much faster to do that than to back the car up to the armory thing and try to drag between tabs. it looks like my ammo and parts and stuff were stored but all the cool guns got evaporated.
>>
>>738773427
you can just park the car on the armory pad and then open the armory and use the tabs in the lower left to unload the vehicle, your character and the boxes inside the vehicle all with shift clicking.
That being said I also had some shit vanish when I just left it on the floor, so I don't think it's getting put away correctly.

If you're doing it to get the powersuit, you gotta be sneaky. If you evade their patrol routes you only need to fight one or two of them, rest can be avoided. Ways to take them down were brought up in a previous thread, but out-ranging them with high-caliber guns/explosives and shooting their asses is the safest and most efficient way.
Roundabout usually spawns a lot of loot, apparently LAWs can spawn in Shoreline too.

It's a combination of killing the infantry and avoiding the apcs. If you go north from spawn you can kick down sections of fence and prep your vehicle route. Kill all guards you see. The suppressed SMG works good on them. Keep heading that direction and you'll find a vehicle elevator. Once the guards are dead you can scout around to find the apcs and the suit crate. The APCs are easy to kite using cover if you don't have explosives to knock the crews out.

>Head south-east, wait for the patrolling APC to head upwards away from the gate, before driving straight into the facility
>Leave the van once you get to the forest area, follow the path deeper into the facility
>Either evade or (preferrably) disable the APC patrolling the eastern side, and head north-west, taking out the cops in the area, mind the snipers that might spawn
>(optional) There's a big crate in a parking lot, has a lot of explosives and ammo, but you need to take care of the APC, or hope the retard AI pathfinds to some random place far away, there's an elevator nearby too that you can send and abandoned APCs into your garage through
>Head north-east, clearing all enemies along the way, there's an APC somewhere up there you might have to deal with
>Once the path is clear head back to the van, and drive it to the chest with the carmine rig, taking the same route to avoid any enemies (again, mind the APCs)
>Stuff it in the van and GTFO (either take the northern exit where the northern APC is/was, or head back to where you entered the mission)

Probably; the big squares aren't real parking spaces, and containers/backpacks count as vehicles, so if you dropped a crate on the ground it might have considered that "parked" instead of the actual car. If you get a warning when leaving then something's in the wrong place.

>>
>>738783214
initially smaller scale and infantry focused, you can really feel the difference the moment you get a piece of actual military hardware
>>
>>738783214
It's rougher but it's also a demo of an early version so lots of opportunities to polish it up. You've got more freedom in the levels since you can get in and out of vehicles and pick up weapons and stuff. It's got campaign missions and the freelance mode has been replaced with the "garage" mode, which is an extraction shooter mode basically where you slowly build up your supply of weapons and vehicles. It's a lot more "low level" than the first game, at least for now, in that you're not really gonna be smashing through buildings quite as much. But the opening level of the campaign shows that that's very much still a thing you can do, you just need to build up to it.
>>
>>738783214
I liked everything except the gameplay loop about the first game, so I enjoy this a lot more despite there being a lot of unfinished things and the UI being pretty confusing and unintuitive at first.
Give it a shot yourself, it's a free demo and a small download.

>>
>>738784449
In garage mode yes
>>
How does this compare to the original? I really enjoyed the first game but always thought it could have done with some sort of strategic game mode linking the missions together. Owning a shitty little PMC unit and taking on missions to earn money and slowly build up an arsenal of mechs to take on harder missions would have been interesting.
What little I've seen of Killers it looks like you don't control mechs any more. Is that something they're working towards or do they not want us piloting mechs at all?
>>
>>738785204
You can still pilot mechs, but you can also walk around on the ground. What's available right now is more the early game so you don't really have many mech options, you do get to play with some in the campaign missions though.
About the building up thing you mentioned, garage mode is kinda like that in that it's an extraction mode where you go into missions and can bring back supplies, weapons and vehicles, and then modify them or construct new ones from parts.
>>
>>738781701

Imagine if in Brigadors you start on foot and have to loot, craft or buy all weaponry, ammo and vehicles. In Demo there is a short tutorial series of missions and more free roam garage mode, there are no mechs yet but seeing you can build small tanks and powersuits so I don't see why the larger vehicles wouldn't come into play later in the game.
>>
>>738785204
Demo has the Mog and Coffin powersuits, the Fork light mech, Arlo and Skate grass, and a few light tanks, including the party van. There's plenty of vehicular options so far.

I'm liking it a lot more so far. Brigador didn't quite stick with me as much as I wanted it to, the freelance mode just feels like doing the same thing over and over. I'm having a lot more fun with Killer's garage mode though, since there's risk and reward to add some friction to the game. When you get those vehicles/mechs you're about as unstoppable as you were in Brigador, but that risk is still there to keep it from feeling the same, almost got my fork wrecked once cause I got cocky.
>it looks like you don't control mechs any more
There are two mechs you can make, a corvid one and a Fork (it's named by it's 'official' designation so I didn't catch that it was the same thing). Mongoose and Coffin make a return, but the Mog has a placeholder model for now. Some returning vehicles too.

Sourcing the LAWs is my biggest issue, they rarely spawn at all
>>
>>738759519
Even if they're just using 22 lr rounds, the APCs feel like a pretty dumb spike in difficulty, especially given the mission right after it just has you back to fighting cops armed primarily with shit pistols. Feels like lighter enemy vehicles would have been a better option.
>>
>>738787194
They can spawn in the big weapon drop crate in aubery's neighborhood
>>
>>738787052
Good guide, would be better if you incorporated the elevator to it though, either for getting the van in, out or saving one of the APCs.
Also, I think at least one or two of the APCs have a patrol route they follow.
To be honest, I find it kinda funny that so many people are having difficulties with this mission, you just gotta get the upgunned loader van and do the roundabout or the first assasination mission a few times until you get a proper turret gun you can mount onto it, there really is no need for any sort of advanced tactics, just go balls to the wall with overwhelming firepower.
>>
>>738785502
And the Rounder.
>>
>>738787194
That's why I showed the thermobarics first as they're much more common and still get the job done, albeit inefficiently. I'm pretty sure the circled crate has guaranteed LAWs as well as I've never done a run and not seen some in there.
>>738787283
I think all of them but the one by the explosives crate will patrol or at least have some randomization to their placement, the one at the end by the rig seems to spawn stationary in one of a few places and the other three patrol but for the route I marked only the bottom left one will be relevant and it always patrols in a way that leaves it vulnerable to grenades thrown over that rock.
>>
>>738787052

>>
>>738787052
My harder but zero risk strategy is to go in completely naked (grab the free medkit from the briefcase I guess) and take the varlet parked at the gas station up to the weapon crate. Then either grab the weapons and try to destroy the APC guarding it or sometimes it'll just leave if it can't see you (you can throw yourself onto the ground with Y) and then try to make your way forward from there with the weapons you have available now. Lower chance of success but you don't need any prep or risk losing anything
>>
>>738788690
The only mission I know with a guaranteed forklift is the one with the cop checkpoint on the highway, it's not particularly quick to get it though since it's way at the end of the branch off the road and you have to deal with an APC to get to some of the targets
>>

Party Van
>>
>>738788861
The upgunned (and maybe loader variant, haven't tried it) van is pretty fast
>>
>>738788690
Chopshop has a guaranteed forklift right next to the carpark by the building with the gas lines. Just watch out for the Sawbuck/APC that'll be within the vicinity
>>
>>738788880
dromon cave has a guaranteed forklift spawn, next to an elevator no less. though you can't really extract from it instantly
>>
What's the point of non-salvage objectives if you don't get paid for it?
>>
>>738788690
Not that quick, but the map where you get the cinderblock rig has 2 guaranteed forklifts, one where the crate with the rig spawns and an uparmored variant around one or two screens worth of space to the north-east/east (depending on how you consider the cardinal directions in an isometric game).
Now why would you want forklifts, I have no clue, they are crap and completely overshadowed by the loader van, don't think you need the frames for anything worthwhile either.

>>738789308

>>
>>738787283
Part of the issue is that up until that point the only enemies you face are infantry, then all of a sudden BAM fucking APCs which can rip a panel van to shreds and take a good deal of punishment to put down. It's just a fucking retarded jump in difficulty and the only solution is to grind grind grind
>>

Not really. aas the other anons have already pointed out, stealth works. And the APC is vulnerable to literally any weapons if you hit it from the rear + it moves in a fixed patrol route
It's not any different from fighting your first boss in a souls game or whatever: Observe their patterns and weak spots
>>
>>738790067
They don't exactly give you a lot of options for going infiltration given the fact that it's basically a corridor of fences. >>
>>738790873
I don't think the range difference between the binoculars and a bog rifle or penpal is that big enough to warrant the slot but yeah, having them or some kind of scoped weapon feels almost mandatory even if it's just a .357 pocket sniper.
>>
>>738790696
>Bigger maps
Having some of the locations interconnect with each other rather than just returning to garage after visiting each one. Connection would be roads, highways, tunnels, rails that you could enter, basically like what happens when you travel to the merchant highway.
>Factions adapt to your hits
Reinforces the area with more units if you hit the same place multiple times or fail it. Though this may be tricky to implement as some areas have randomized factions.
>Weapon customization
I doubt we'll get this but it would be nice to have. I'd love to have a bonesaw with a bigger mag size that's not vehicle mounted.
And of course, just more content in general. I'd really like to be able to add further upgrades to the Carmine and Mog.

>Coffin was a meme vehicle made pilotable for the Empty Fuck in Brigador
>in Brigador Killers the Coffin is a tiny speed demon packing huge firepower with shit like double Buzzsaws, Minimi and Bully.
>its a rape machine able to zoom into tiny spaces and rape APC in the ass before they even turn the headlights on
>the moment you zoom in everybody hits the ground in pure fear
BKillers biggest strengh is how well scale works: something as shitty as Corvid junkers are very scary because nobody is packing mechs and tanks, the whole "this shit only works to scare the locals" desc in Brigador really works in Killers.
>>
>>738787415
I crafted a small container and dumped some items in before logging off and when I loaded back into the game the containers weren't there :(
>>
>>738800716
The crafting spot is not a garage spot, you need to put those crates into a vehicle and then park that vehicle on one of the numbered garage squares. Personally I have a loader panel van and a sprat van for crates, the sprat can hold like 8 smalls.
>>
>>738787283
Chop Shop is also super easy to do and has high end gear in the boxes. There are two map variants: cop and corvid. If cop, just run right up the middle to the lot, stuff the gear in the 2 to 3 crates that spawn in that lot in the biggest car you can, then get in and haul ass out, minding the APC that might teleport in at spawn. If corvid, just shoot the 3 guys at the first barricade, then up the middle into the lot and loot at your leisure, being careful of the north end of the lot as it has a cinderblock roaming near there.
>>
>>738800872
I used a vehicle to place them on the floor outside of any crafting spots
>>
>>738800515
This is one of it's big strengths yeah. Even the varlet from the first game would be formidable here (I know there's varlets in killers too but I don't think they can pack as much ordinance as the first game, and don't have a shield generator)
>>
>>738754478
I haven't played Brigador in a long time. So you can get in and out of vehicles in this?
>>
>>738801054
Yeah. You're also dealing with much more low level battles (for now). Garage mode is the meat of the demo, it's an extraction mode.

You're absolutely not a che guevara type in the first game. That's arguably great leader and his regime, you're a corpo merc going in to destabilize the region even further to enable a hostile takeover
>>
>>738801195
It's quite literally the opposite, you're a mercenary contracted by a capitalist superpower tasked with ending a regime for daring to go independent in the first game, and Che Guevara's most loyal terrorist in the second
>>
is there a way to interact with my backpacks inventory without taking it off?

it's safer to assume they are nowhere near close to completing the inventory system yet, you can't even select partial stacks of an item unless you count one item at a time

It's not just that crate. Most crates are weight a lot more than the 500 a regular large can carry so they give you a 5000. Mount it on a loader van along with a Mongoose for a fun time.

It's actually kind of starting to make sense now. I never got the idea of Tower Tanks as the ultra-heavy, instead of ultra-wide weapon platforms, but the idea of a huge ridiculous tower of metal rolling towards you while firing artillery is actually a huge morale killer.

One thing to consider is the view distances involved. At best you can currently use the spacer sniper rig to plink targets. But even if you can see it coming on foot you won't be able to outrun something like a Harvester mortar strike or getting doubletapped by a pair of railguns. People don't realize that you can actually play as infantry right now in the first game to get a feel for how it would play out. You still move like a manlet mech and your weapons are mostly tied between the Bonesaws and donkey tank rifles. You get something like 10x the bonus on payments compared to using the varlets but most things will oneshot you regardless of caliber.

>GRAVESEND PINBALL
>Every horrible story you ever heard about Gravesend is true, near as I can tell. Slave Rock. If human history is a catalogue of successive refinements on sadism and imprisonment, Gravesend is the logical endpoint. Perfect suffering with no exit but the obvious. No escape from the wet, recycled air of that miserable planetoid.
>Despite the legend, the original Pinball was pretty small. Whoever built it used only basic mule/tractor type agrav engines. Still, it was genius. It must have taken that poor bastard months, years maybe. Four agravs come off the line but only three come back, no one the wiser. Frame up all the engines as close to a sphere as you can manage; cage for the “pilot” in the middle, cover the outside in pot metal, get the weight up.
>That first Pinball likely couldn’t carry more than say three minutes fuel, which was fine. After thirty seconds the pilot’s entrails were pasting the tunnel walls, spraying from the gaps in the welds on the spinning death machine. Centrifugal force and screaming and blood.
>After a minute the casualties and structural damage to Gravesend Central Processing were catastrophic. In two minutes and seven seconds, the Pinball wrenched itself and its dead creator into the open void of space. He was finally free, if only for a little while.

The only thing I had to get used to really was you have to "ready weapon" before you can fire weapon. If you try to fire weapon without readying, nothing happens. So for KBM you hold down RMB first, and this shows your aiming reticle, at which point you can plug away. Til you run out of ammo. Some ammo types are easier to get than others.

The cinderblock rig has such a fun movement style, but it's so shit. Only one weapon slot, standard item space and fuck all ammo space, loads of weapon storage space but who the hell is gonna constantly swap weapons in and out, especially since you can barely carry any ammo for them? It's got only slightly more health than the carmine while having zero options to heal it, and you also can't use any vehicles.
Carmine is just by far the best rig for 99% of situations, the one and only downside is that it can't use a mongoose.
Dromon is even shittier than cinderblock, 100 shields which you can't replenish mid mission vs carmine having 100 health that you can replenish with a single medpack (that you can carry loads of).

Penpal also kinda sucks for APCs, it does okay damage if you hit them in the back but the fire rate is just way too slow to rely on it. Get yourself some kind of rockets or grenades.

It's funny, the gameplay now reminds me more of Synthetik and the demo is more enjoyable than Synthetik 2 so that's a plus.

I enjoy this on its own merits. It was just fucking around with some stuff like setting up electric car bowling because they take off like bombchus when you damage them enough. My complaint is that its very much not Brigador anymore is it.
I liked it because the scaling sense of bullshit mechs in play in various arcade style missions. The existence of meta progression (not unlocks, keeping upgrades and managing a base and equipment and ammo and such) is very much not what I was hoping for from the concept. Again I don't hate it, I just find myself a little indifferent to it as a sequel.
Still. I'll probably get it. I like supporting games that have hard work put into them and honestly I like the soundtrack by makeup and vanity kit

My favorite Brigador.. I don't remember many of the pilots from the first game honestly. I liked the moral loyalist looking ones because they wear that tank cap / pilot cap thing that looks cool. As for faction, also probably the loyalist faction. I like that their shit doesn't seem super futuristic but not as rag tag makeshift as the corvid shit. I DO however like some corvid designs. The Broken Heart is such an insane piece of machinery. I love it.
>>
>>738825757
I like that canonically the stupider loyalist designs are due to politics and clashing egos among the brass, so they force something retarded through and then the engineers somehow make it work

How do you think ultra mechs will be implemented in brigador killers?
>>
>>738827757
Highly expensive, impractical, and subtle as a heart attack. I expect larger mechs to be something you get to capture. As the SNC captured a lot of NEP equipment after the long night. Would not surprise me if you get to "liberate" a toro and stomp entire city blocks into dust.

From what I've heard, there is supposed to be a "heat" system like gta or just cause, where the more people you kill. The stronger the response to you gets. Would be something like cops > swat teams > Faber mercs > Spacer killteams. "the violence will escalate" I believe was Hugh's exact words.

I have affection for all of them, Corvid aesthetic is growing on me since I started rolling in the Cinderblock, Volta has been fascinating since I read Pilgrim, but my first love, my true love, is the Spacer faction. Lunatic space nazis taking the zeon creed to its logical extreme: Ew, you've experienced GRAVITY? Disgusting, get away from me you terrestrial filth!

Juke, Lockdown, Blackhand, AKP, I'm going to melt your bones through the walls before you know there's a fight happening.

But really I want Man From Volta in a Carmine with a Voltan bog rifle.

>doing a salvage mission
>hop out of APC to loot a box
>get pretty much instakilled by a dude in power armor who sprints up and unloads some cannon rounds or something on me
>APC's gone, all that grinding lost in a split second
Done with this shit, that pretty much killed it for me. It kind of helped me put my finger on why this sucks so much cock compared to the original Brigador. The core gameplay of the original Brigador encouraged you to experiment and play around with different builds. If you died, you missed out on your payout and it meant starting the mission set from scratch. Wasn't necessarily the end of the world. Since Killers uses a sort of extraction shooter formula where if you die in a mission, you lose everything you brought in with you, dying is a massive middle finger, especially given how laughably inaccurate the mission difficulties are (case in point, the city level right after the Wilderness is labeled medium difficulty but it's mostly populated by cops armed with the dinky 45 pistol which does tickle damage and can't hit worth shit as well as the dinky 12 gauge pump shotgun. Same goes for the Promenade where it's listed as hard but again, almost nothing but cops with dinky pistols and 12 gauge pump shotguns). Depending on what you lost it could mean tons and tons of grinding to recuperate it. If they're deadset on sticking to the extraction format, the least they could do is take a page from other extraction games and give you some way of mitigating your losses like the insurance system you see in a lot of them.

Boring answer:
The engagement ranges and urban combat makes guided missiles kind of pointless when compared to artillery or rockets
Cool answer: like in all mecha fiction, up l close dog fights are much more cool than just chucking a precision munition over the horizon with minimal collateral

Cool, I'll give it a try even though how WIP everything is is sort of turning me off. I really liked everything about Brigador's presentation. Question though, why are there raincoats running around on Mar Nosso? Isn't this supposed to be a different corporate planet that the Brigadors are now living in luxury on?
>>738832717
It's been a while since I was deep into Brigador's lore but don't Spacers have a really autistic mindset when it comes to combat in general? They're like depraved versions of chivalric knights of nobility, but instead of being goodhearted they just love violence. Fire and forget probably isn't personal enough for them.
>>
>>738832938
>up close dog fights are much more cool than just chucking a precision munition over the horizon with minimal collateral
Shit actually makes sense from a lore standpoint as to why you don't see Spacers using guided missiles. Locking onto a target and launching a fire and forget missile just doesn't have the same level of sadism and personal touch that liquifying someone's insides at point blank range with a black hand or watching a crowd of people shit their pants as they look up to see a harvester mortar hang in the air for a few seconds before sending down enough ordinance to level a city block and vaporize everyone in it
>>
>>738783301
They're working on getting a better euro distributor but no idea when that will happen . If you think those minis are expensive definitely don't look at how much 40k costs
>>
>>738833649
>Spacers have a really autistic mindset when it comes to combat in general?
It's like a mixture of autistic and psychotic mindsets. There's one Spacer who literally makes it a point to sabotage her own equipment and kill her wingmen (or whatever you'd call a mech teammate) to give herself a challenge. Then you've got the auditor who insists attacking military targets is primitive and inefficient so he exclusively goes after poorly defended sectors to inflict as many civilian casualties as possible with no resistance.

The devs apparently nerfed vehicle accuracy to keep APCs from instantly shredding you with perfect accuracy, but currently it applies to all vehicles, rather than just vehicles controlled by enemy AI. I think they're planning on upping vehicle turret accuracy for players, because right now it's pretty annoying having only a fraction of your shots hitting if you use automatic guns.
