Basically: Morrowind was Bethesda's Swansong. They went all on in console dumbed down slop and aped Lord of the Rings because it was extremely popular at the time, so Oblivion was born. Discount LOTR, worldbuilding that Morrowind and previous games created was destroyed so that they could copy Middle Earth, all loot and enemies are leveled to you so console morons couldn't ever get stuck.
