7 business days and counting. Thursday is a holiday in the Netherlands so eubros are extra cooked and most likely not getting it this week either if it isn't already shipped...
>>738772541lol
I made the "reservation queue" at 10am exact, Valve stated emails would be sent out next week (this week) and yet we've heard nothing. It'll probably be Friday late afternoon we hear back at the latest.
>>738772541Internally they must have decided to send them out in waves, starting with closest to HQ and NA first. It is what it is, I’m trying to figure out how to protect my trackpads from oil/wear when mine gets here.
>>738772541This fucking dogshit
>>738774795It's not coming this week for you if it's still stuck in the Netherlands
>>738774952Yeah I would assumeMaybe we should all nag Valve so they don't use GLS again
>>738772541I can't own one of these.
>ordered 2 minutes before it was out>3-5 days to ship!>they've finally given me a tracking number>GLS doesn't even have the parcel yetI hate Valve so much it's unreal, last time I ever buy hardware from these faggots.
>>738772541same here, why even package it if they're not sending it out.>>738774795that one is lost. at least some GLS wagie is having a blast right now.
>>738774795Where are you? There should be a local tracking number you can use as well.
>>738772541i have mine.
>>738775814Give it back
>>738775887no. gaben gave it to me because i bought a lot of cases in csgo. sucks to suck.
>>738772541Already got mine in Lithuania
>Literal yuropeen peasants complaining about the backward third world shitholes they live in
>>738776017gls is just dogshit. i got mine already and i live in germany.
dude... it's just a controller. It's nothing you haven't experienced before
>ordered mine 16 minutes after opening +2 for the early start>sat as packed for over a week, despite the 2-5 day shipping>finally changed to shipped on monday morning>tracking, two days later, still says "not handed over to delivery guy"lmao
I still haven't even gotten a mail for my reservation...I have two weeks off from work coming up but I doubt I have any chance of getting one and playing around with it before it's over
>>738776067You don't get it, it's made by Valve bro!
>>738776067I mean it’s largely considered the best and most comfortable controller ever made by far. Of course there’s a ton of hype.
>>738772541My only grip so far is that it only supports 16 max buttons in virtual menues when the trackpad could easily support a 5x5 layout or maybe even 6x6.I set up the controller for some casual single player in FFXIV and had to drop my lesser used skills.
>>738776067Not many controllers have mouse control and virtual menus.
>>738776046I live in the UK and he's right, this country is a shithole now. Got my Steam Controller at least.I really hope the Restore Britain party isn't another psyop.
>>738775814How did you make the light purple? I thought it just went red for low batter, green for full charge and blue for bluetooth.
>>738772541>Played Dragons Dogma back in the day with the old Steam Controller before I lost it>Best way I've ever played the game>Try it again with the new one>Game no longer supports simultaneous inputWhy would Capcom execs just wake up one day and decide to update an old game to be worse? What is wrong with that company?
>>738777936it's just the camera and light in the room. it's white in real life.
How do the trackpads compare with the Steamdeck? Are they more sensitive or basically the same thing?
Start doing this.
>>738780947
I got mine
>>738778082Shame, I was hoping you could configure the lights somehow.
What games are to be played with it? Wasn't PC the "muh masterrace" because of kb+m? What's the point of this?
>>738783193pc has every input under the sunsim racing? got it!vr? got it!controller? which one? all of them!any form of input can be used with the right software and setup.
>>738772541They finally gave mine a shipping number today, but tracking still says it's not been handed over yet. I hate the Dutch
>>738783193>Wasn't PC the "muh masterrace" because of kb+m?Can't play racist and flying games on keyboard and mouse or a Nintendo controller.
Yeah the way they ship is weird. My friend ordered it roughly at the same time I did and he only got the GSL shipping number yesterday. Meanwhile I got my controller 4 days ago.
kill me
>>738785643Can't blame GLS anymore, it's all your own country's shipping service that's at fault now.
>>738786274it's still gls at the end.
>>738772541Already got mine. Tried our the gyro and not impressed. Are you suppose to use only gyro to turn the camera or use it in combination with the stick?
>>738774795It could be worseIt could arrive at final parcel center and they will blueball you like this
>>738785643>GLSYou're not getting yours bro
>>738787589Flick stick + gyroThere's a ton of setup and customization with it, Obviously the defaults are not great in many cases
>>738787925Cool thanks. Ye I also tried to setup a gyro for Forza to drive with. Works ok but the turns are way too slow with gyro
>>738787925Trackball gives you more control than flickstick.
>>738788893Trackball is dogshit(I have a deck OLED)
>>738788926Literally a skill issue.
>>738780947>Do this>It Wilhelm screamsCute easter egg. Also insane that it has no speakers, it's just the haptics pulling that off
I hope the success of this controller actually makes trackpads on controllers more common.
Got mine monday. It's pretty cool. I've been having fun just dicking around with the extra buttons/trackpads and seeing what inputs I could assign to them. Only game I've had issues with is Warframe, surprisingly. The game seems to just ignore steam input somehow. I assign the back buttons to abilities and they don't register. Really want that working since that'd be better than the native way WF handles controller abilities. I also want to eventually make a menu to quickly do Lavos' combined element infusions>>738789779The haptics are pretty crazy. It keeps surprising me that the trackpads aren't actually clickable because it certainly feels like I'm clicking them
>>738791048My issue with the haptics is that at least for now they're pretty worthless otherwise. There's a good amount of games that support dualsense haptics on PC but none really take advantage of what's in the steam controller/deck
>>738787705>at MILit's over for you Anon.
>>738791048>It keeps surprising me that the trackpads aren't actually clickable because it certainly feels like I'm clicking themIt was weeks before I noticed the Steamdeck's pads weren't clickeble and I only noticed because it was off at the time.
>>738792653it's the same tech they used to use in iphone (from the first se to the current se) home buttons (imo it was even better on those than on the deck). it made them much more reliable (ask how i know).
>>738792889how do you know...
>>738794819apple at the time supported their devices longer than all the other android companies with security updates. i used my first gen se until recently.
>>738772541Got mine in last night. Been playing some stuff, and while it's different and I need to get used to it, I think I like it. Feels very solid imo, the trackpads are nice to have especailly when something comes up on the desktop real quick. Like I went to play AC Unity and got a UAC prompt when Ubisoft Connect or whatever updated, after launching the game from Steam. Instead of taking my hands off the controller to use the mouse, I just used the trackpad. Really convenient. Gyro is a game changer too, I just used an Xbox controller so I was really missing out. I'm pretty happy with it so far, it has a lot of nifty features. I am having a weird thing though, when I play an emulator and launch it outside of Steam and with SISR off, something like Dolphin and RPCS3 recognize the controller and it works in game, however when I press X for instance to do anything, the keyboard pops up along with whatever action is assigned in the game. If I run the emulator through Steam or with SISR running, it's not an issue. Just really weird.
Packaged Items bros how do we cope with this incredible injustice. they teased us by packaging our controllers and now refuse to send them out.
>>738794819>>738795063the first touch buttons that apple used where clicky. real buttons i know. they failed all the time. i used to repalce them for money. the se and iphone 6 didn't have real buttons and only a vibration motor. much more reliable. much better design. less moving parts. much simpler and tunable.
>>738795232What's that triple dot button for?
>>738787589if you want to start to learn the feel of the gyro without getting overwhelmed i suggest binding it to a button to only turn it on when you need it. for example, binding it to weapon zoom/scope like L2. that way you only activate it when aiming specifically
>gyro bad because i can't configure itjust chill. it's new tech for plebs. they get used to it and some are going to use it and some won't. even splatoon players have learned to use gyro.
>>738795514It brings up the overlay for me, but so does the button with the Steam logo on it.
>>738772541i had to wait a really long time but it finally arrived
>>738795864Just wait until everyone makes community layouts and be a lazy fucker taking advantage of the people who put the time and effort
>>738795864Question really is, when do you use gyro? Technically you can use it for everything
GLS left my controller on the road rather than come up the drivewayi live in the countryside so i guess it was safe enough but what the hell
lol
>>738798167at any time at any place. it's up to you. valve gave so many options to activate it and use it. touch the trackpad? got it! touch one of the sticks? got it? touch both sticks? yeah why not. all the time? yeah. toggle it? why not. via back buttons? ofc. 99% is going to be when aiming down sights via r2 prob but still. lots of options.
>>738798167Arcadey drivingWagglan shit, fishing, starfox simulatorsAiming if kb+m are less convenientHonestly the point of it is that you have a lot of freedom on what to do, not just preconfigured stuffProblem is... there's not a lot of preconfigured stuff, you gotta do it all yourself. This controller is the equivalent to linux
>>738798646>Problem is... there's not a lot of preconfigured stuff, you gotta do it all yourself. >This controller is the equivalent to linuxevery time i create a layout that works for a game i get better at it but the ui really does need some work still.
Strange they didn't include a manual that at least lists all the features and tips on customizing it. It just shows up like here, you figure it out. It comes with a little booklet with like 50 languages but it's just a legal safety book with useless shit like don't eat the battery.
>>738798990all the information you are going to need is on steam, reddit and youtube. someone is already writing a wikipage for it somewhere while they wait for theirs to arrive. if they still made games they would let the community make part of i... ah that already happened. lel.
>>738798646I tried it with Forza for driving but it gets out of sync/off center and starts drifting to one side more. Not really feasible from the looks of it
>>738798376Upboated!
>>738772541So I got the controller and I'm wondering, how do I set Steam up so, no matter the game, my L4 is bound to L3 and R4 is bound to L3?I don't want to reconfigure every single game ever every single time, or even have to apply a template or whatever, I just want that to be the default across the board. Is that not possible?
>>738772541Dortmund > Essen > Bornheimwhy the fuck is my controller taking the scenic route across the hitler's bunkers? get it out of germany
>>738807407Mine isn't even shipped yet and I live 20 minutes away from the shippers...
>my package is stuck in germany>Thursday is public holidayI'm not seeing my controller until next week
bros...its not in gaymany, i might get it friday or even tommorowI WON I HAVE WOOONNNN>>738808024damn dude, that sucks
