So it would force any Nords that DO respect Nordic tradition (i.e. True Sons of Skyrim) to instantly turn against the Imperials for insulting their way of life, while also exposing the Imperialized Nords that no longer respect Skyrim's traditions.3) Using the Thu'um displays Torygg's personal weakness while also displaying that Ulfric wields the ultimate symbol of ancient Nordic power and discipline. It's a power move to flex his shit in the most high profile way possible, while also showing that the Empire is too weak to do anything like it.He explicitly tells you this if you ask him. It makes sense and there's no reason a real Nord WOULD be bothered by Ulfric doing it. The most people can say is that he's breaking the teachings of the Greybeards (and he is one of two characters that mentions it, and he admits he feels bad about it). But the Greybeard teachings aren't legally binding. They're just gatekeepers that are intentionally fucking the Nords over by holding their teachings hostage because one guy had a grumpy dumpy when he lost a war (and then enforced his pacifism on others through violence).
