It's interesting. Not only are all the tracks clearly disjointed from the story and gameplay, it's jarring just how bad everything is between general dialogue and the "gameplay" sequences. From what's actually going on in this game, it seems like a really awful attempt at making good movies from that time period into a video game. I really fail to be immersed or captivated by any of the theatrics, and the main character is a pretentious nerd without any of the charming aspects that make that type of character work. The gameplay sections themselves just seem more of like a really poor music visualization with barebones controls that don't really add anything to the sequences. To give this a ten for anything except visuals (outside of the awful low framerate animation style) might as well be considered the biggest most gigantic piece of shit lie. But then again this is games journalist slop incarnate. It pretends to be witty, to have depth and to be interesting. Yet, it feels like a rough draft of a bigger story. I mean journalists gave Gone Home high praise, it's obvious this game was astroturfed, but it's not out of the realm of possibilities that journos would give this a 9 for free anyway.
