Trails in the Sky is good because the scale of the story was small enough that they'd let the fucking plot advance. There's one romance, and it focuses on the unique dynamic between two characters which can oscillate from comedic to purely beautiful, from dramatic to warm, and always, ALWAYS, just a little bit taboo. Having a girl as the clueless MC, and then making the love interest with amnesia a pretty boy emo who use to be an assassin and child soldier, is a hilarious way to flip to trope on its head.

Honestly Sky 3rd is the game that needs the most amount of updating in a remake and it's probably the game they're going to touch the least, if they even remake it at all.
