What really annoys me about this thing (i refuse to call it a game) is that none of the "interactive" moments have any impact on any of the scenes, nor do they drive any scenes forward. If you're doing something, that action should have some relevance to the scene. A good example is from YIIK 2 where the main character, the Nameless Child, is disguised as Rory's dead sister in one of his dreams. He asks to play baseball, so you play baseball with him. There's a box keeping count of your hits and misses, but it doesn't matter if you're doing well or not, because the moment is used as a vehicle for dialogue between "Carrie" and Rory. You get to know a lot more about Rory's social standing, how their Mom is seen as a whore, and Rory gets to talk about how he respects his mom more than the people around them because she's at least trying to provide for her family, whereas everyone else has already given up.Mixtape has no moments like this. You just get Garth and female Wayne going "dude" at each other and fake Molly Ringwald is there too and it plays some music no teen was listening to in the 90's because this game was written by some Australian fucks who have no idea what teens were doing in the 90's. It's just a series of moments they saw in movies and commercials. It's the fakest shit ever, every segment is like something you'd see on Tiktok. There's no interactivity between these characters that means anything, because there are no characters. There is no narrative being driven, because there is no story.
