its actually good if you dont have completionist autism
>>
>>738829892
If the game gets worse the more you play it, can you really call it good?
>>
>>738829989
You're not supposed to think about the obvious contradiction in the statement
>The game is good if you ignore most of it
>>
>>738829892
Install the N-hanced version and its a proper game.
>>
>>738830182
The developer sponsored "we fucked up" mod doesn't fix the fundamental issues with this game.

>>738829989
>if you wouldnt eat 100 burgers in one sitting the burger isnt good
>>
>>738829892
It's solid. Some levels dragged on, but it was fun.
>>
>>738829892
The major problem with the game is the people who made this thought they understood what the longterm value of the original trilogy was but somehow thought applying Crash Bash logic was the key to that.

I didn't have fun.
>The camera moving mid-jump at certain areas fucks up your jumps, leading to cheap deaths.
>Twana's sections were tedious as fuck. Her whip didn't seem to always work as intended and lead to cheap deaths.
>Dingodile levels are so braindead easy they shouldn't have bothered.
>Time travel plot/aesthetic yet again instead of doing something original.
Awful compared to the originals. Just awful.
>>
nah I just wanted Crash 2, 2
and what I got was some ugly new game that didnt look or feel like crash
>>
>>738829892
That game was $10 too much.

This game was $10 too cheap.

Both games should have been $50.

>>Twana's sections were tedious as fuck. Her whip didn't seem to always work as intended and lead to cheap deaths.

so three levels throughout the entire game?
>>
>>738830625
I mean debatably the worst thing about it's about time is that it's not different enough for that to be an excuse of how much of a ballache it was.
>>
99% of Crashfags have some form of completionist autism, just one of many reasons why it and Rumble flopped and you're still a seething 300lb looney troon all these years later
>>
>>738830031
Playing it just to beat the game is fun. There are a bunch of optional things that are varying levels of annoying, from the secret levels that have rooms copied from normal levels to trying to get every gem in the screen filter levels. The game should be criticized for having shitty content, but none of it is required to beat the game, and the stuff that is part of beating the game is fun.

>Game fails
>People that are fans of the games play the rest of the games that exist or other games
>It has been 6 fucking years
>Still crying that it's the CRASH FANS fault that the CRASH GAME failed
>>
>>738831271
because traditional crash games aren't finished by simply beating them normally, half of the appeal comes with full completion
>>
Would she date anons?
>>
>>738831506
It blew my mind as a kid that there were entire extra sections for progressing in your overall completion
>>
>>738829892
i disagree.
100% crash games was kinda part of the whole intended experience and them making completing the game this much of a chore and unfun was a lame move.

With that aside even completing the game normally was not that fun, the side character sections were also bloated for no reason.

The thing I hate the most is that crash was pretty fucking hard to control and almost every jump had no lenience, you either made the perfect jump or you died and it was really hard to see where you were landing even with that assist. i think it was the camera angle but that might been just me

The argument is that the original trinity was all good, the competionism was not such a far off idea after finishing the main game, and most of all, it was still fun to do.
Still, Crash 1 was still very frustrating to 100% and it seems that the devs from Crash 4 saw things people hated the most of the original trilogy and implemented them 100-fold into this shit.
>10 minute levels
>Full to the brim with "hidden boxes"
>Padding out the ass
>"Challenges" to complete the level without dying in a game with the Dark Souls 2 philosophy (Way more frustrating than fun)
>Bonus levels full of trial and error instead of it being a break.
>>
>>738829892
It they had made 5 and 6 shortly after.
Like one year each even if it sounds unrealistic.
People wouldn't be so critical about it.

It's not bad, but when there's nothing else to see
you start seeing all the bad about it.

Of the 5 playable characters,
>Crash
duh
>Coco
That's girl Crash, especially after the N. Sane remakes.
>Cortex
He's probably the most popular character in the series besides Crash. He's going to be involved somehow.
>Tawna
This is a bit of a weird pick, but she's another bandicoot, and she's one of a couple characters in the first game.
>Dingodile
Why?
>>
too bad, "le pirate tawna" spoils the entire game

Kek try again, not buying your woke slop
>>
>>738831298
I see it as the same Ballpark as X-2 100% something you do once for the experience and after that you just do what you know you enjoy on replays.
>>
>>738831271
Rumble failed because of lack of marketing. Unless you played the beta most people had no idea what the fuck it was. They posted an article on the tranny bat before they posted what the first season had in it. Its a shame because I thought rumble was pretty fun and only reason I stopped playing was because it became pretty dead.
>>
>>738831681
It's not just that but conditions wise it was worse
Crash 3's Best ending condition requires
>All Crystals
>All Gems
>All Relics(Gold minimum)
For Crash 4 you need all Relics Platinum minimum and all Perfect Relics. Aside from levels being tedious and cancerous those extra conditions show a lack of understanding for how Crash works.
The whole point is that breaking crates should be fun and rewarding. Instead they made it annoying and painful. For Relics the whole point was to run through as fast as possible(you got the Crash Dash for a reason) these retards turned it into that lame ass triple spin. 100% completion is meant to be fun for even little kids, not exclusively for tryhards with no life.
It's a fundamental misunderstanding of what a game being for kids actually means.
>>
>>738830182
Isn't that literally just an easy mode? I don't want to play something dumbed down for nint0ddlers.
>>
I hated it. The new artstyle is so busy that it can be legit hard to tell the foreground from the background and it feels like it tries to be more difficult for the sake of it fron the very start rather than having a natural curve
>>
>>738829892
I'm sure, but unfortunately I do have completionist autism. For platformers at least. I want all of the shiny coins and gems and time trial buttplugs and whatever the fuck.
>>
>>738831707
>>738831521
She has a hotter body than the original Tawna.
>>
>>738829892
>completionist autism
that's kinda the whole point of the collectathon platformer that Crash belongs to
>>
>>738833843
>"Challenges" to complete the level without dying in a game with the Dark Souls 2 philosophy (Way more frustrating than fun)
What interesting is that every single thing the devs did shows they had no idea what they were doing in making a Crash game.
>level length and box count
ruins the point, breaking boxes should be fun, something even 1 got right.
>Hidden boxes
were always full of leads and lures to get you to notice them, things like wumpa fruit floating over what seem to be pits actually leading to a secret area and the like. Crash's best feature is how well the game has you looking for oddities that stand out without being overly cryptic and simply asking you to think critically a bit. Something 4 doesn't get as it hides shit out of nowhere with no indication. Doesn't help the colors they use are fucking abysmal that the hidden shit is totally obscured when not totally off screen.
>padding out the ass
a sign they knew they had no idea what they were doing. Why do we need gems for collecting Wumpa Fruit. It's because they intrinsically knew that they made breaking boxes boring. Same with repeat levels with a filter. That kind of thing just isn't needed
>"Challenges" to complete the level without dying
Perhaps their biggest fuck up. The restart level option needing to load not only the level again but also connected cutscenes(why?) instead of just setting deaths to 0 and dropping the player back at the start of the level and that deaths immediately start counting before the first checkpoint so you need to constantly hit restart when doing those no death with all boxes collected runs.
Nothing to add with Bonus rounds, you already said all that really needs to be said.

I wish they hadn't felt the need to add a few bullshit boxes in every level, no I don't want the Cold Hard Crash 154/155 experience 20 times goddamnit. All the additional padding is whatever.
