It's NASApunk space opera exploration kino, why do people hate it so much?
>>738831528i'd rather save the disk space and play daggerfall
it's garbage
It's bland as fuck and clearly a mishmash of different ideas glued to Bethesda's ancient engine. All the interesting shit happened before the game started. Like, why even have mechs if you can neither pilot nor fight any? If you think about logistics for more than a second, the setting makes no sense. The procedurally generated planets seeded with PoIs could have at least been a way to toss in more hand crafted locations over time, but they prioritized paid mods and did not add shit until the last hail mary patch. Speaking of which, they keep throwing new official content into paid mods. It's not even terrible. I put a lot of hours into it out of Bethesda nostalgia. They could have turned it into something okay, but chose greed and Todd Howard's ego.
>>738831528Only a minority of people hate starfield, it came out on the PS5 last month and was one of the best selling games of the month. It shows that most people dont care and just want to play good games.
arguably the most soulless game ever made
>>738832492NASApunk. Space opera. Kino. Toward Howard did it again.
>>738831528I'm not smart enough to appreciate its profound messaging. It's really that simple. It makes me feel stupid so I get defensive and insecure about it.
>>738831528I cant hate a game where they let you exterminate the last jew from the universe.
>>738831528First AAA game I truly believe was made PRIMARILY with AI.It is aggressively generic and boring, which is worse than being bad. What's even crazier to me is that people STILL have expectations for TESVI after seeing this shit, like Bethesda will magically 180 and become competent randomly despite every game they've released in the past 20 years being worse than the last.
>>738832735Starfield is their best game yet though
I started playing this a few days ago. During one mission this business guy from constellation wouldn't shut the fuck up and let me turn in a mission, so I shot his wife that he was casually having a personal conversation with in the middle of his corporation's lobby. Of course shes invincible, but because he is flagged as my ally, he began to gun down all of his employees that tried to attack me. That really told me everything I needed to know about the game.
>>738832790Yes yes, you're very funny by posting the opposite of the truth, so quirky and cool.
>>738832790it not only is the worst bethesda game (which is saying a LOT), it is legitimately one of the worst games ever made.
>>738832909Starfield is a vast improvement over Fallout 4 and going back to their roots of making a morrowind like game which they clearly succeeded with starfield.
>>738831528it's not nasapunk and it's not space opera exploration and it's not kino
>>738832937/v/ says this about literally every game
>>738832895The developers hated the game they were making, and they hated us too. That's the only way I can explain the end product.
>>738831528Unironically you making the same thread for 3 years has done a lot to do so on here, at least.
>>7388331048 more years of DLC and updates for Starfield, gonna see more starfield threads everyday for the next decade.
>>738833141I don’t doubt I’m going to see the same vapid thread spammed endlessly
>>738831528>hate itnot hate it, just moderately disappointed in its soullessness
>>738833214Starfield is already one of the most beloved games of the generation, you're gonna see more positive starfield threads as the years go by.
>NASApunk What does this mean?
>>738833308Idk but it sounded super cool so I bought the game
>>738833308it means 'we don't know how to design sci-fi so we'll just copy reality but without actually making it realistic because that's hard and we're hacks'
>>738833018i finally got the mission on the planet with the old rich dude. The only interesting part was sneaking around in the vents. Everything else was boring as shit. Setting up for the meeting just involved paying money to the useless ass guards, the meeting itself had zero tension, and the whole conflict against the CEO asshole who wanted the relic just ends with zero repercussions if you kill or spare him. It kinda feels like someone at Bethesda wanted to replicate illium from Mass Effect, but did it in the shittiest laziest way imaginable.
>>738833887I vaguely remember that, and I stupidly cared enough to use the non-lethal energy weapon to spare the guards. Nothing you do ever matters. They also wanted to replicate Night City with Neon, and they wanted to replicate the Citadel with New Atlantis, and they wanted to replicate Red Dead Redemption 2 with Akila.
>>738834002>They also wanted to replicate Night City with Neon, and they wanted to replicate the Citadel with New Atlantis, and they wanted to replicate Red Dead Redemption 2 with Akila.Starfield obviously wears its inspirations on it's sleeve, but it somehow managed to take the ideas from all those beloved franchises and mesh them together into a completely soulless universe where there's no reason to care about anything.
>>738834002I'm pretty sure Akila was supposed to be ripping off Firefly. Remember, the game was developed by millennial faggots.
>>738831528It is worse than hated. It is nothinged.
it's got soul
