Would you play video games with your son, assuming you ever have one?
>>
no
my son will grow up knowing what its like to touch grass, play sports, and while i dont expect him to be the peak of physical fitness I at least expect him to be able to run from one end of a basketball court to the other without having a heart attack.

Considering I already play games with my nephew, yea and I'd make that little shit play doom on ultra violence with keyboard only
>>
>>738833125
I currently do that. We check out games alongside books at the library. Some PS4 pac man game right now. Also the gamecube emulator a lot recently

there's zero chance I would be that good or cool of a dad.
I see too much of my dad in myself so I abstain from even dating.
>>
>>738833125
I do, and when he's old enough, I plan to get him on retro and ddr
Then when he's older he can do chores to earn money to buy whatever modern slop will be available at that time
>>
It won't be video games,
It will be a new form of entertainment
>>

What if you had a daughter

This is you.
>>
>>738833125
No. I'm going to call him a loser when he plays them, then hide in my secret gaming closet so he thinks I don't play them. If he asks what I'm doing in the closet I'll just lie and pretend I'm a faggot so he doesn't think I'm a filthy gamer.

I will be like the parents I thought were weird growing up. Allowing internet and tv access to a small amount per day, probably something like 7-9pm until theyre like 15 or so.
Maybe not so far where I disconnect tv/internet service during the summer like some of the friends I had.
>>
My son will be 5 this month. We play Lego Batman and hot wheels racing games together. He's starting to get into rock band with me. My 7 year old daughter can finish songs on easy doing the drums. We play Mario 3d world on wii u 3 players often
>>
>>738833695
I won't force it, I'll simply allow him if he asks to play
>>
>>738833695
I'm not going to buy a retard box so he can drop his IQ by 80 pts so he can be a gud consoomer
You got a problem with it? Give your own kid a PS7 with the exclusive "troon adventure 3"
>>
>>738833125
I'm playing Pragmata with my little sister.
>>
>>738833125
I swear every single grown "male" that looks like this is an insufferable dunning kruger retard.
>>
>>738833125
No I'd probably ignore and neglect him
never having kids
>>
>>738833125
Sure I would, sounds fun
>>
>>738833125
No
When I was young I got way too addicted to video games and cartoons. It was pretty much the only I wanted to do and it fucked me up a little. Its not a problem anymore now that I'm an adult with impulse control, but I want my children to have a somewhat normal upbringing that doesn't involve rotting their brains with endless entertainment at a crucial age. Once they're late teens that can handle it I might consider letting them play video games.
>>
>>738833695
Fuck the internet I'm not making my son just modern faggot movie shit

I do, but she's my wife's son.
>>
>>738833125
No. Most video games are dumb, and turn your brain into mush. I might play TTRPGs with him, as it fosters his creativity (just have to avoid having that turn him into a tranny)
>>
I'm going to die alone.
>>
I am never having children, because making kids makes you cringe.
>>

>AI GARBAGE
>>
>>738833125
Yeah but I'll only buy Nintendo games for him. Gotta indoctrinate them early, ya'know
>>
>>738833695
He can play what he wants but if it's shit I will mock him.
>>
>>738833125
My son just turned 5. We play astrobot, Lego games and mario kart together. He also plays trackmania, rocket league and final fantasy 15 strangely.
>>
>>738833125
my AGP son (soon to be daughter) and I will be playing blue archive 2 together

I play a lot of games with my little nephew. He's been wonderful. My relationship with him has made me friends with my brother (we never got along).

Only issue is his mother. The she bitch thinks he'll eventually turn into me if he spends enough time with me when literally everyday I tell him to work and study hard so he doesn't turn into a neet like me.
>>
i played racing games with my dad on ps1 so probably yes, but i will never have children so there's that
>>
This is /v/. Nobody here even plays video games with themselves.
>>
>>738833125
I played with my daughter, she loves games and is preddy gud today as an older teen. She plays competitive games anyway online and does well, but also has taste and doesnt play Uncharted or Ubishit games, stuff like that.

I have a 3 year old son and in the time between their births I've decided I dont want him to be a gamer. Im an autist probably and I get hyper focused on things, luckily I steered that toward combat sports and avoided being a funko pop furry fanfic writer, but I dont want to risk my boy going full retard. If we game for some reason it has to be fun and disposable, not a proxy for a full time job, so oddly enough games like Crazy Taxi which let you enjoy short bursts of a relatively simple system. If he wants an epic journey he van read a fucking book.

>give access to solid games for kids that are older but good
>let him build up a taste
>by the time he makes friends who play videogames he'll already be hesitant to just play whatever new shit they do
>could even invite his friends over so they can co-op an older game
and the problem is?
>>
>>738833125
I play games with my son. He likes Grounded, Astroneer, Super Mario odyssey, Kirby and the forgotten land, hello kitty island adventure, golf with your friends, he's surprisingly competent for 4 years old.
>>
>>738833125
I have a 1 year old son and sure as hell we'll be playing games. He will start with games from my childhood thought - Warcraft, Red Alert, San Andreas
>>

>He also plays trackmania, rocket league and final fantasy 15 strangely.
>final fantasy 15
>strangely
