I put it off for a while because it seemed hard to get in to, but it's really not. If you spend 5 minutes reading tooltips you'll be good to go, the rest you can figure out while playing. The only obtuse mechanics are weapon swing speed (people say you need str=2x weight of weapon, but that's wrong it's actually 40xblunt dmg for some ungodly reason) and base building not being an early game activity.

There aren't any real basic jobs like fishing or farming, you will have to mine or more likely loot some dead body to acquire enough money to buy a small house then produce some random shit from there at a workshop.The game has a lot of lore and interesting locations, but gameplay wise it's quite poor, and has almost nothing outside of combat.
