Just finished this up last night. Ending was fantastic, but I wish the final boss was actually a challenge.
I wish more games would have a photo mode like this one
>>738858049Most developers don't understand difficulty curve on their first try. I don't think they anticipated players just ignoring dodge, spamming parry and stacking every % multiplier for literal hundreds of millions of damage. Still a good game
Just talked about this in the other thread but the act 3 balance is completely fucked. 75% of the fights are you getting oneshot or you oneshotting them. Letting you break the damage cap in act 3 before you fight the final boss is a mistake. Should have given it to you after
>>738858805I watched someone with most starting skills, barely any lumina invested on any character and with extremely shit pictos equipped still easily beat the last boss coming straight out of act 2. How? She used momentum strike and just chunked him for half health with maelle (the only one that had painted power equipped). This game is so unbelievably easy to get overpowered in. Like you can forgo parrying entirely and be fine
>>738858049Ok, looks like shit
>>738858821>Letting you break the damage cap in act 3 before you fight the final boss is a mistakeThen it would be even more tedious and boring. Chipping away at boss health 9999 from each attack at the time. What joy. They give you the ability to build a giga-retard build, and most of the late-game abilities facilitate it. How do you think Verso's Follow Up would even be viable with a damage cap?
>>738858049Dripless
should've used the challenges they addedyou can easily do 100x on the final boss and still be fine if you have even a half decent setup
>>738860268You take Renoir down pretty quickly even with only doing 9999 damage attacks, stuff like gustaves homage and lightning dance/strike storm evaporate him.
>>738858821It would work a bit better if they gave him 5-10x more HP or a third phase to the fight. It's pretty jarring when some of the overworld dudes could wreck his shit.I'd say the ideal balance is enemies 2/3-shotting, although that can be achieved with some of the shield pictos.
>>738858049That's a very common complaint. Pretty much everyone oneshot the final boss or had one of the many builds that trivialized him when they got there.
Would you?
>>738860853I feel like he shouldn't be mogged by his painted counterpart in terms of boss fights. At least that guy felt like more of a challenge.
>>738861020why did Aline make her uglier than her real burnt self?that's just fucking cruel
>>738861284Even made her wear a shitty mask over it too. Aline was a complete bitch that blamed Alicia for everything.
>>738861153Should have made the axons actually part of the fight but I imagine some limitations/gameplay reasons for not doing it. 3rd phase should definitely have been there.
>>738861440this alicia did nothing wrongthat's the saddest part
Sciel a cute
>>738858049I wish my iq was low enough to enjoy this game
>>738861717It was pretty wild that Maelle straight up killed her without hesitation, but was willing to prop up Verso as a piano-playing puppet. Even more fucked up, she erased the scars that he chose to hold onto
>For those that come after
>>738858049This game broke me. Masterpiece.
>>738858049Who the fuck is the girl on the left? Why does nobody ever talk about her?
>>738861902Verso calls her out on that, and is entirely justified.
How many times did you guys weep while playing? For me it was three times
>>738861860I am glad never to be cursed with such a big brain as to be incapable of enjoying things.
>>738861974Sciel is best girl, Lunefags just have yellow fever because Lune as a person is unlikeable.
>>738858805There’s no way they didn’t know that. I think it may have had something to do with the director loving FF8 and FF10 — games that are famously very easy to become overpowered in if you know what you’re doing. IIRC, he said he one shotted the final boss of FF10 as a kid and he wanted to make his bosses one shottable too.
>>738858049This was my first JRPG and I loved it but I've heard the genre in general is pretty terrible. Are there any JRPGs that have incredible writing and gameplay besides Clair Obscur?
>>738861974That semen-demon is Sciel, the biggest DPS dumper in the game.
>>738861974There's always discussion about her because she's okay fucking while her husband is dead and they're planning to revive him.
>>738862260To death do us part.It really is salt in the wound with Maelle's ending that Verso doesn't even have best girl to look forward to in his piano hell.
>>738862139This. The fact that she’s a cute drunk with attitude, but also a pro-life trad wife is a dangerously based combo.>>738862193All the Final Fantasy games from 1 to 12 are classics worth playing. Shin Megami Tensei is also a good JRPG series, but more-so for the gameplay because the story of those games is meh. Kingdom Hearts is also a great JRPG franchise, but it’s not a “traditional” one.
>>738862480>trad wife>Let's fuck one last time even though I believe we are resurrecting my husband tomorrowI like her but that shit cant be ignored
>>738862603Tbf, the “revive everyone” plan is entirely dependent on Maelle being a competent enough paintress to do that. She was only able to bring Sciel and Lune back because she absorbed their essence. Plus, if I was Pierre, I genuinely wouldn’t care as long as it actually was over when I came back.
>>738862603They already fucked, so it's not like it's going to make things any worse. The greatest crime in the game is not having an outfit that shows both her armpits and belly button at the same time. Who the fuck wears a swimsuit that covers the belly button?
>>738862841My guess is that they wanted to give the swimsuits variety between characters. Funnily enough, Maelle has the skimpiest one.
>>738862796I dunno how Maelle could even accurately bring him back. He died in an accident several years prior and Maelle never even knew him to begin with. At best, he'd be a partial clone, similar to Aline's painted family.
>>738862796>Tbf, the “revive everyone” plan is entirely dependent on Maelle being a competent enough paintress to do thatYes but Sciel believed that Maelle/Alicia could do it.>>738862841It is a difference, all other fucks she believed her husband died 4 years ago. Fucking Verso after knowing he can be brought back is different
>>738862991She somehow did bring him back in her ending. But it’s left ambiguous how “complete” that version of him is.
>>738863096>Fucking Verso after knowing he can be brought back is differentHow so? They've already fucked and Pierre is still dead.
>>738860268>>738860836>>738858821It would be better if the retards didnt make you break 9999 damage limit before actually ending the game and divide the post game content between "side content before finishing the game" and "side content post finishing thegame".
>>738863776You could just not equip the picto or manually set the damage cap at any flagpole.
>>738863847holy shit its not as simple as "dont equip the picto bro"its just retarded balance
>>738858821They should have just scaled the final boss to your level
>>738863847more Clea, pls
>>738863847If self-imposed challenges are the only way to get any sort of difficulty, it’s usually a sign of bad balancing. It’s clear they added it in as a bad aid because they quickly learned that the balancing was shit. They even outright said that Stendhal was a mistake and they never intended for it to be that strong.
>>738864705Sorry, I didn't take any more. Here's some fan art instead
bonus baguette Sciel
>>738867794Best part of baguette outfit Sciel is her red lipstick
>>738861284Aline didn't draw her burned. She personally forced PAlicia's face into a fire place for what real Alicia did
cute
>>738867794Personally, I think Sciel’s default hair suits her best, and her default outfit too. None of her others have midriff exposure.
>>738858049fag33 is a shit game
>>738871118Her default hair is by far the best. Chic has a bit of midriff and some delicious underboob, but yeah, nothing gets that sexy belly like her default style
>>738861284Aline is a cunt
>>738863847>>738867334>>738867454my wife is gorgeous
every useless sack of shit man (everyone here if we're being honest) could use a woman like Clea in their life - firm but loving and cares more about you and your wellbeing than you do yourself
>>738858049Didnt you fight Simone, that the secret challenge boss
>>738872695Simone with "her" one big tittythere's also Super-Simon now
>>738872695Not yet. I only did a few things in Act 3 so as to not be too overleveled, but turns out Renoir was a chump anyways. Gonna spend the next few days getting all the journals and fucking up all the bosses.
>>738872527I’d rather marry Sciel. A wife who tries to kill herself when you die because she misses you that badly is a green flag.
Balance problems in E33 are an IQ test. The game path and difficulty are on rails during the first two acts and people don't usually complain about that. In act 3 you are warned by the red glow if under leveled for an area. Worst case if upon entering an area you struggle on the first mook fight, you know to come back later. The chromatic nevrons you meet on the world map don't have specific warnings, but in the first two act you should already have realized their power levels are approximately in the same order as those of the regular form of the nevron. The power level of the free roaming bosses with no references like Serpenphare or Sprong are the only ambiguities, but it makes you lose an unbearable two minutes if you go at the wrong time.
Sirene was a fun boss. Very enchanting
