That being said, XB2 is also a great game, with an amazing cast of characters, it’s just very jarring initially because the tone feels much lighter and more comedic. If you're a turbo autist about the lore, play 2 without sidetracking until the final chapter and pause, then go and play 1 until the end of the main game and return to 2. Finish 2, but do not do the special arena stuff yet. Move to Torna. After you finished Torna go and play Future Connect from 1. Now you Play X, You actually do not need to finish the main story of it. Just learn who are the core characters in here maybe play a couple of chapters. Once you are familiar with the cast return to 2 and go play the all the special arena stuff, unlock all the special characters watch the scenes and finish 2 for real now. Once you're done with 2's content you might want to finish X and then do your obligatory lap around 3 and its very important DLC and you're done with the saga so far.But you have to understand that the general plot elements of this series ties to older ones with similar concepts and some of the stuff described above involves characters from it but that's more fanservice if you just want the Blade Chronicles part fo this. If you don't, you'll just get burnt out because EVERY Xenoblade Chronicles game starts slow and then ramps up fast. You'd be going from the high end combat at the end of the first game back to tutorials for how to do basic shit and the tutorials in all of the games are long.

It's weird that /v/ seems to hate XBC2 when it is by far my favorite of the series. The story and themes resonated with me the most. It starts out slow and silly with some light hearted tropey stuff, but it becomes pretty sophisticated near the end.I guess /v/ was just kind off put by Pyra's design and tits, so they didn't wanna try it out. I do recommend it though, it is really good. Just try not to get too offended by Pyra/Mythra's designs.

Combined that with the blade that heals when you swap and the ability to swap faster and you basically just spam crits on Mythra to constantly reduce CDs and swap to AoE heal yourself/allies.
